ValaraZ
We could create a huge event and start rebelling over something. Or we can give them time to use some spit and polish on quests and other updates so no bugs are left in them. The problem I always saw with BTS was that when they promised us a new piece of content they had to deliver it at the promised time or annoying noobs would go out of their way and cry about it. Then, if for some reason the project was delayed and a bug got into the coding whilst it was hurried to keep all the 12 y/o's happy the same people would go whine about the bug and how they supposedly lost 50 sets of full bandos to this bug and they want their supposed wealth back. BOOHOO. Give 'em time to work on giving us quality over quantity and in the meanwhile, go train your skills or better yet, take a look outside, you never know what interesting things might happen there. ~Val Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant: "If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven." Such is the Rule of Honor. Michaael
^^ I definitely prefer quality to quantity. I don't know if I can speak for everyone in RS...But I certainly prefer one well thought out quest with good cut scenes, bug free ect, to five short, possibly buggy quests that take no more than 15 minutes. The same goes for minigames and stuff, I like it when they aren't rushed  5,693rd to 99 Slayer on 10/08/2009
mervinator_9
I lol'd far to hard at omali's comic, : Anyway I guess theres been a bit on a slow down on the update front to make sure that quest 150 was sucessful, which imo it was. I think that we'll see updates more regularly now, the lack of a Bts is just so that Jagex doesnt have to rush or play down content to meet deadlines, this way we wont need updates fixing them and quality should prevail over quantity. Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,I like to think I walk this line every day. Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Bauke
Off topic: but Bauke how did you make all your money for your skills with out double nats? Just fooling around brings in a lot of cash, if you play long enough. Racheya
Simple answer from me: hardly working, finding out how easily they can convince us that huge updates are coming out and thats why half of the content is delayed for months on end. Puttin my two cents out there. Yes, I'm sure that's exactly what they're doing. This is an upgrade year therefore there will be more upgrading rather than new content. Why does everyone have the want to have new high level massive content out every single week? And even then they're not happy with it >.< We have LOTS of content as it is and Jagex are just trying to sort out all the things people have been whining about for the last... forever. They shouldn't be forced to put out content on a strict shedule, it makes bad and buggy updates. That's why they got rid of the BTS because it putting too put pressure on. Even when the BTS is gone it STILL seems like people are demanding content to be out on time, only now they have no clue about what and when it's supposed to come out. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. meb
I found the answer to this thread. Wahahaha I was thinking about that comic when I saw the title. You win win the thread sir. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Even when the BTS is gone it STILL seems like people are demanding content to be out on time, only now they have no clue about what and when it's supposed to come out. Just because it is the year of upgrades does not mean they are going to completely drop new content now yes some people are being over anxious about it but the fact is they have somewhat dropped the ball with only the updates that were mildly needed (minus the jog back glitch that just happened that shut up an entire generation of whiners). Do you even know why it is the year of updates? There is a simple explanation really. As of today it has been 5 years and 3 days since RS2 became RS Prime and RS1 became RS Classic. So while HD came and offered some new graphical options, the same basic structure has been in place for nearly twice as long as the original code (not counting MUD) In fact as of Jan 4 of 2010 It will basically mean RS2 has been the dominate form for twice as long as it's predecessor. Now BTS was dropped because it created far too much anxiety in people. They were trying to promise some content that looked bigger then it was to keep people fed but all it did was force them to an arbitrary time line that people held them to religiously. BTS had it's good points as well, it did make players feel more informed but really it still did more damage then good. In either case if you go back and look at the BTS 2009 The "Year of updates" was promised under the old regime which does not necessarily mean that the new CEO, while he has thus far, intends to keep the idea alive. Yoko Kurama
How dare you questions JAGEX!!!! What a difference a year makes. Last year anyone defending them was cast down like outcasts. This year, we're in March, they've been delivering nothing since the new year, and people are more defensive than Chris Brown in prison. I don't know which Tip.it you have been observing; but ever since Andrew threatened to sue Tip.it over the article dealing with bannings ; as far as I have seen Tip.it has been super defensive against Jagex, it is one of the reasons why I seldom visit here and I know this is the same reason why others don't come here either. Bloodstain
Of course, we don't want to JUST do upgrades, so we're planning to do a mix of upgrades and new content. To achieve this we are planning on going back to releasing approximately four updates per month, which will alternate between upgrades and new content. So far the month has one week left and all we've gotten is the chosen commander. All the other stuff is things you'd see at the bottom of old updates in the "In other news" section
Returned3
Crai sum moar! Seriously, some of the newer players are spoilt. They expect an update every single week... I started playing Runescape at the time just before Slayer came out and even I don't complain. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down! I started playing Runescape at the time just before Slayer came out and even I don't complain. But they have promised four updates a month. In your time they did not. There is a difference. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

RuneScape under The old CEO Geoff Iddison "promised" 4 Updates a month. All Mark Gerhard (who BTW has his own Wikipedia page now :? ) has "promised" was a more openness, more quality not quantity updates, and no BTS. Oh and Less dumbing it down for the kiddies. It is completely his and the boards choice to follow Iddison's plans or not.
