Maximusa
Thats a good point. If they dont release ingame content updates there will be alot less bugs. ;) They given alot evidence on why they havnt released stuff. They have told us.. So while its not exactly great for them to keep delaying.. They obviously working still. Time will tell tbh. I do feel its bad they havnt released much lately though.. Not a good sign for them. stormveritas
How dare you questions JAGEX!!!! What a difference a year makes. Last year anyone defending them was cast down like outcasts. This year, we're in March, they've been delivering nothing since the new year, and people are more defensive than Chris Brown in prison. It's becuase we've been given reasons for everything right now, most rants are just a lack of research right now. You can have all those "reasons", but reasons to you sound like excuses to me. We haven't had any good content update since the new ownership took over. That's not a good thing, regardless of how optimistic you may be about this staff. If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Cha0sx
Seem's like something is in the works with all these small updates. I really hope so, because a whole year of [cabbage]ty real-content updates and small updates to the game would be incredibly boring. There would be nothing to look forward to, which is what a lot of people continue to pay for membership for (not necessarily me, but it does help with my happiness; something that I hope Jagex, as I am their customer, cares about). JustAGamer
Surfa beat me to making the volume argument. :( Anyway, anyone who says they're sitting around doing nothing clearly hasn't been reading the Forum posts. List of things that are in concept design/design/etc: (eep, wall of text :-# ) "we are looking to improve the forums" "looking to substantially grow our mod community" "We are currently looking at consoles" (ps3, wii, etc.) "we have already attempted to reach out to a number of well-known fan sites. " "expanding into the Asian/European markets" "We recognise that mage may be underpowered and there are people with rather large cerebellums on the problem. " "We plan to continue in this vein and add more such (summoning) training areas." "We do plan to fill in the gaps for higher level skills over time " "I'm currently planning an update to Prayer." "new skill by the end of 2010" "Dragon pickaxes will be released in the future" "we DO have a plan. " "The museum boss: he talks about an expedition to Morytania." ". Its quite a big project that will need lots of work, so we just need to find the right time to do it. Racheya
Of course they're working hard! I'm going to marry Jagex when I'm older . How will the Jagex HQ wear the wedding ring? :( I'll draw a big circle around the HQ in the dirt that can symbolise the ring. : You know... since all computer game companies have large trenches around their buildings. :? langer
Anyone questionning a succesful corporation has probably no professional experience and obviously no idea how the workplace really works. If they were not working or had the laziness disease, there would be no updates, no Jagex mods participating on the forums, no one reviewing those numerous ban appeal (if you rant on the way they deal with it, with supposedly macro-answers, think how many stupid appeals there must be for them to have to act this way), no one monitoring revenues and expenses and in the end, the place would close down. If you are suggesting that by releasing less updates than they used to, they are working less (or not at all if I read correctly your incendiary title), well then we enter the realm of supposition and your guess is as good as mine. darkpoet837
Ok, I am getting really tired of threads like this. Introducing new things into Runescape is more time consuming than you may think, as the game gets more complicated the more they do it. Every time they put new content in, they have to make sure it works with all other updates before it, such as skills, quests, mini games, old areas, ect. Saying they are not working any harder on new updates is pure idiocy. The fact that we have had an update every week for quite some time now amazes me. I would even go as far as to say that we have been spoiled, getting too much. We only pay 5$ a bloody month. There are more expensive games that get far less updates than us, maybe once or twice a year. Sometimes, they even have to pay extra for the updates! Also, about hating all the upgrades we have been given, and are going to get, isn't it updating old things people have been begging for for years? They have needed to refocus onto old skills, old quest lines, old areas, and things already in the game for years, and I am glad they are finally doing it. Taking old things and making them work better with all the new content we have. There has to be a reason for the old things in the game to still be there, and have a use. That's my thoughts on this. *runs back to blues* [hide]Come, be my light.Mingle with my darknessMay we mix to createOur own twilight sunsetThe dusk breezeSpreading cloudsOn our murky horizon~Darkpoet837~[/hide]

lagatag
I really stopped caring. Quests are pretty lame imo. They're all pretty much run around and fetch X obscure item, then solve childish puzzle Y, then receive worthless reward Z. I can't get into the storylines for the quests either, they're all pretty cliche and dragged out too long with too long between updates between them. Minigames haven't been good since PC, and even then they updated PC and made it suck. The only good updates anymore are the things to make banking, teleporting, whatever, a lot smoother and faster. Lord_Shalaj
Why on earth are you guys acting like RuneScape starts, ends and is always centered on new content? This is getting annoying. Don't get me wrong, I feel new updates breathe life and excitement into the game, but it's total trash to always rely on them and then whine because your 1 week of waiting got you nothing. I'll repeat what I said in the previous similar thread... there is this WHOLE WIDE WORLD OF GIELNOR to explore. All contents don't disappear after 2 weeks of their release. They are and will exist regardless you get an update this week or not. If you feel that the current existing features don't capture your interest, then I guess you should move to games that you find more interesting. Updates aren't all in RuneScape. And it was never in the routine that you got an update *every* week. So whats wrong if you go without one now? Thanks.. OutwarDragon
I have been kind of on the fence about this. On one side I am happy they now have the chance to make quality over quantity. I would love for 150 to come out and be epic. Heck I hope from the pit of my soul that 150 ties together half of the two dozen plots we have (does anyone even remember that the king of Ardy wanted to invade cammy?) and I have plenty of ideas how they could tie the plots. But really this does look more like a "I miss BTS" posts. Not without BTs (which was not all that heart breaking) we have all lost something that made us feel appreciated as customers; transparency and communication. Eventually this will be fixed with the use of dev diaries but it is still heart breaking to check the news every morning and see nothing new. :? I suggest making or supporting an RSOF post about pressing them to get the ball rolling on the new forms of customer communication they talked about. llamster
Off topic: but Bauke how did you make all your money for your skills with out double nats? You think nats are the only good moneymaker in the game? There's GWD, DKs, merchanting, aviansies, green dragons, even double astrals/cosmics or law runes. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
FellonyNoob
We usually get a medium-large update (e.g. quest, minigame or skill-related) about once every 2 weeks. However, it's been 4 weeks since we've had such an update. Soul Wars come out Feb. 10. By next week, it'll be 5. I don't think RS has ever had such an update drought before. I realize they're working on quest 150, mobilizing armies, and possibly a new skill, but don't you think they should be giving out some details on their current developments? No. Ill be excited when new update comes because i had no idea it was coming.
