April 16, 200917 yr Bloody hellfire! I come here, to see how this bleeding thread could remain so blasted popular, and I find a lot of numb skulls and hollow heads bashing the blogger who clearly, if you read the article, was being satirical. IT IS A FREAKIN' JOKE PEOPLE! You know that for sure do you? Are you, in fact, the blogger in question? The problem with blogs like this, or just blogs in general, is that it allows any self-important twit with an internet connection to spout off about what is wrong with the world to everyone and anyone. The reason so many people in this thread feel this person is being serious is that bloggers like this are always being serious. They may put "disclaimers" at the top of the page, but that's so if their "well-reasoned" arguments are met with anger and, frankly, reality by the readers, they can simply say it was meant as a joke. -.- Ha ha ha... Last time I checked, jokes were supposed to be funny. This ignorant tirade on RuneScape doesn't even come close to sarcasm, let alone humor. Actualy, the disclaimer is kind of funny, and after reading it I'm 100% sure it's a joke. (I underlined anything that could possibly point it's a joke.) EDIT: For some very weird reason, I can't seem to be able to type it in, all I get is this: [ (note that there is a quote there, that simply doesn't show for some reason, even when I edit my post that's all I get.) :? :? :? :? :? EDIT2: I decided to try all sorts of things and see which one works (if any). Without quoting: Directions: Read.Laugh.Bookmark.Tell a friend.Repeat. DISCLAIMER: The content posted in this articles may or may not represent my actual beliefs, some articles may simply be made for satirical purposes or be based on actual facts. If you find any of my posts offensive, immediately send it to your friends and enemies to read, and tell them to do the same. Let me enphasize that this blog may contain the following: Lies. Hypocrisy. Common Sense. Anti-Trend. READER DISCRETION IS ALSO ADVISED: The content in this blog may include content that is unsuitable for Socialists and any similars. In addition to hiding: [hide=][ EDIT3: This is extremely weird, without quoting let me post everything. In addition to hiding made most of it disappear, and without underlining made *everything* disappear, even what I said ("Without underlining:"). Wonder if anyone could explain this.
April 16, 200917 yr Hahahahahahaha. This is so dumb. So because I have to eat a whole inventory of sharks in PVP now I am going to eat a 20 steaks!?!??! LOL!
April 16, 200917 yr She probably wrote this while Z was still king. Thus the age limit was supposed to be 13 and anyone over 13 who does those things are probably developmentally delayed Ok... Im not that good. But I have an anchor!!!
April 16, 200917 yr 6 foot... 183 pounds... Been playing runescape since I was 14.. Currently 19. I in no way ever substituted runescape things for real life ones. Apparently I am not good enough to live up to the stereotype... damn my life. BTW those videos were hilarious... that ladies man video added nothing to the argument but a good laugh. Apparently, my signature was to big.

April 16, 200917 yr "I have seen videos of people gulping down an entire inventory of swordfish in a losing battle. Younger players can take this in a bad light. They can suddenly be brainwashed that eating immense amounts of food can help them live longer or heal faster from a simple cut or bruise. And that 'brain stamp' the game causes can harm their lives, making them obese and shunned by society for it." That seriously made me laugh out loud. If kids are getting fat from playing runescape, that's the parent's fault. It's their job to monitor their children's activities. It's just the same as making sure your kids arent out getting into trouble, except these kids are sitting right there at home. There's no excuse for lazy parenting.

April 17, 200917 yr They can suddenly be brainwashed that eating immense amounts of food can help them live longer or heal faster from a simple cut or bruise. They would probably ask for some shrimp for a small cut or bruise. They might gulp down a buffet if they have a life threatening injury, but then thats the least of your worries. O.O
April 17, 200917 yr I woudl disagree with that; seeing as I'm not fat and i highly think a damn load of other players are not fat...thuogh i don't think chubby is fat :? Visit my blog! Click the madness for more madness!
April 17, 200917 yr now who said eating didn't play a major role? Eating is only a big part of combat training, and there are a great many other things to do in RuneScape. Combat has only been a small part of my character's development, and a lot of people make pure skiller accounts that have no combat levels at all. Check out my blog to read the Adventures of a Big Damn (F2P) Hero. THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P. So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

April 17, 200917 yr it hasnt made me fat, it only makes u fat if u play for 1hour+ a day while eating, what about those parents who probably have jobs in offices, sitting thier [wagon] all day but they complain about a game ? lol
April 17, 200917 yr what about those parents who probably have jobs in offices, sitting thier [wagon] all day but they complain about a game ? lol This is very true. I have to sit down at my job in front of a computer almost double the time each week I play games at my home computer (Weekends included). When people think gamer, they think out of shape, lazy, eating at the desk, and overweight. This is simply not the case for most individuals. Saying "eating food" on a virtual game effects your eating habits, is like saying watching cartoons (like Loney Toons) dramatically increases violence because the cartoons hit each other on the head with big hammers.
April 17, 200917 yr [hide=bahahahaha]From: http://ambercrummy.blogspot.com/2008/07 ... esity.html I have recently been compelled to type ravenously to warn you all about an epidemic... And that is a game called Runescape. I believe that it promotes childhood obesity, wastes a person's life, and promotes over the internet serious relationships that make it a haven for child molesters and/or cyber sex acts. First let's cover what this game is... I read a bit from the wonderful Encyclopedia Dramatica, and unfortunately I admit to playing this game every now and then. But I play responsibly. It is a simple game of point and click as you hear simple MIDI music playing, the entire game is played by the click of two mouse buttons, while chat is obviously using all the letters of the keyboard. The camera angle can be adjusted with the arrowkeys. But all in all, you just click on something, wait, then the process gets done. When you work, you click... If you're high enough of a level, you will acquire the resource you wish, provided that you also have the correct equipment. Fighting consists of clicking on a 'monster' and hoping that you win the battle, with occasional equipment switches to suit the fight. Then there's eating.... In the game, if your hitpoints are low, you are wise to eat food, for it instantly heals those hitpoints. And the player's stomach is insane... Immense storage. I have seen videos of people gulping down an entire inventory of swordfish in a losing battle. Younger players can take this in a bad light. They can suddenly be brainwashed that eating immense amounts of food can help them live longer or heal faster from a simple cut or bruise. And that 'brain stamp' the game causes can harm their lives, making them obese and shunned by society for it. And they may eventually be stuck in that rut of constantly being laughed at for how they look, and refuse to even go outside and exercise, much less lead a normal life. Back to work. Working on Runescape is simple, click on the resource... Well I've already told you the process. But that's it. That's all you do. Nothing else. When you have wasted enough of your time on that resource and have gained another level, you are free to forage for another better resource. The process repeats. Obviously cash is made from work, and then you can spend that on something that you will not own for very long, because you will end up needing the next best thing. The process is always the same. There is an end to it all as well... Let's use mining as an example: You move from level 1 to level 99, the limit. The stuff you mine goes in this order, at least I THINK it does... not naming the member items: Copper/Tin->Iron->(coal?)->Silver->Gold->Mithril->Adamant->Rune->Dragon. After you can mine them all, what else is there to do? That's right, nothing whatsoever. That's it. Done. The END. By that time you're probably rich, maybe lacking some of the 'rare' party hats and whatever. Then all you CAN do is what a player named Zezima does, who is known to have trained up all levels of his character to 99: Just stay on top of the high score list by continuously clicking things over and over. I feel sad for this Zezima person, and hope that he does have a healthy social, spiritual, physical, and mental lifestyle. But he has wasted so much of his life clicking away, such a waste! Anyway. I encourage you all to stay away from Runescape, World of Warcraft, games like these that are renown for being extremely addictive. And parents, get your child off Runescape before you see him wolfing down ten steaks with the excuse that the dog bite nearly made him respawn in Lumbridge, save him before the damage is really done!!!! And here are some videos to go with this long post. Some kids acting all too serious and talking to inanimate beings, and they make constant references to 'gods', suggesting that there is a religion that some Runescapers follow. Also there is lots of greed shown in this person who made the video. He must stop playing, though it is too late. A video that shows accurately how female players are treated in the game. I see this all the time. A simple 'no, I have no money for a drink' would have done well. Cybersex taking place. No nudity obviously, but plenty of expletives. Beware. Make sure you read in the chatbox. Oh, and when I said Zezima may not be as bad into the game, never mind... Look here. Oh, Lord.... Look at what they're SAYING. Zezima: I never thought I could be happier until I met you. Elianestp: I have everything I need now. Zezima: You've changed my life... I'm sure the future can be even better. Elianestp: I love you Peter <3> Gizzengard2: I think I'm gonna cry. After watching this video, I am convinced that this person named Peter, aka Zezima, is a lost cause. But of course nothing is certain. *SIGH*. Humans. I read this and thought, "omgbbq"? yeeahhh, guess what guyssss, I can eat a whole shark in RUNESCAPE, now i'mm gunna do it in real life, because i'm cool like that! then I'm gunna go to god wars dungon and kill kree`ara! Anyway, disscuss the article.[/hide] I think this post is hilarious. but if my parents posted this, I'd have to shoot them in the nuts Excuses are tools of incompetence that builds monuments of nothingness. Those who specialize in excuses never accomplish anything. If the world does end on December 21, 2012, I want to be doing hot stuff with Megan Fox and/or playing Runescape :D

April 17, 200917 yr Wow, that article really is a joke... promoting obesity, lmao. "Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security." Support transparency... and by extension, freedom and democracy.
April 17, 200917 yr Any unhealthy obsession over something can make you fit. Being addicted to playing chess can make you fat if you never leave the playing board. Plus, my total is 2100+ and I'm 6'2'' and 140 lbs (BMI of 18.0 which is underweight). So yeah, so much for a strong correlation.

April 17, 200917 yr im going to go kill dragons in my backyard, but dont wory! my horse will heal me if i get in trouble I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
April 17, 200917 yr With this "parent's" logic, besides getting fat, I might also take a Chef's Hat and a Meat Tenderiser about as big as I am (5' 10") and start killing Cows, Chickens, small rats, Giant Rats, and evil spirits with it. I must be stopped! Seriously, either this idiot does not have kids, they are extremely self-conscious of their Runescape playing and weight, and/or they are horrid parents. The challenge of a mistake is not to avoid it. The challenge of a mistake is dealing with the outcome. Proud of who I am and what I am.
