My dad has one. He's thought it would help him quit smoking. It's pretty stupid - he goes from one replacement to another one (usually changing between cigars and cigarettes), but never does the stuff that would be most likely to make him quit. My parents spend well over a hundred dollars on smokes each week together. Pretty crazy.

 

 

 

Anyways, he doesn't smoke his electronic cigarette because he can't find anything to make it taste better. I guess the regular tar tastes too much like candy? :lol:

it's not to stop smoking at all, or at least they aren't allowed to market it like that. you can though, start with the high nicotine, ween yourself down to the mid, then low, then non. they just aren't allowed to market it that way.

 

 

 

it's for smokers who want to smoke in bars and places where smoking is banned, because there is no smoke, no flame, nothing like that, it is completely legal to have and use anywhere. it doesn't have the other crap that cigarettes have either, the tar and chemicals and stuff. so it's better for you too, although it still isn't great for you obviously cause nicotine isn't a substance without bad effects. it's just more healthy than a normal cigarette.

Couldn't these also encourage smoking instead of helping one quit as they are much cheaper than normal cigarettes...

they aren't supposed to help you quit, they aren't allowed to market them as a nicotine cessation device, just a different way to get your nicotine. they CAN be used for that, but they ARE NOT made for that. one of the main reasons i got one is i can get my nicotine fix while sitting at the kiosk at work, and i won't have to leave the merchandise unprotected or watched by someone else.

Your body comes to think that it needs the nicotine, its not as simple as saying "Right, I'm quitting.", generally, its best to gradually take yourself off the dependence, by smoking less, gradually going down from however many a day you smoke, to none.

actually, depending on how long you smoke and your willpower you can just drop cigarettes pretty easy. i dropped them for like 2 months when i had no money. smoked my last pack then couldn't afford any for like 2 months. wasn't too hard really, i had been smoking for over a year at that point. when you get up into smoking for numerous years, then yeah, ween yourself off cigarettes.

There is no reason to criticize his choice for smoking; he finds it relieving. I'm sure he knows the dangers of smoking, but that doesn't not entitle me to judge him based on one aspect of his life.

To be honest, that's the very reason that I do smoke.

 

It calms me down, my reflexes are even sharper cause I'm not freaking out over things,

 

Like I can tell when it's time for a cigarette;

 

My speech slurs cause I forget to swallow my spit, I start dropping things, I'm snappy, but in all honesty, if I had something else that could help me just as efficiently, I'd totally go for that instead.

 

However, I haven't found it yet, so my breakfast still consists of Djarum Blacks and Orange Monster.

This sounds good, actually, it reduces the risk from normal cigarettes, no risk of burning, no lightning, and its not bad for people around you.

 

These need to be available in all countries...

 

(Note: I do not smoke, but I have friends and family who do, and I don't like it, so I might tell them about this)

Smoking does make you look cool--

 

But not because you're inhaling from a cigarette.

 

 

 

Its because it makes it seem as if you're burning with some internal fire, a demon whose anger escapes as a flowing gray.

Raised blood pressure is far better than raised blood pressure, lung cancer, emphysema, smoker's cough, teeth staining, nail staining, the smell etc....

 

I think this is a brilliant idea, it's far cheaper and healthier.

I saw one of these in Dagenham market I should've purchased one. they were like £3 as well.

There are some concerns with the chemicals within the actual cartidge and also in some places it is being advertised as a "health alternative". Various governing bodies are looking into this. I got an article somewhere...

On a serious note, these are a rather interesting idea. Even if they dont help someone with quitting at least they are healthier/less unhealthy.
