Scenario: Bring a familiar into Fight Caves

Featured Replies

You wake up tomorrow morning, and you see an update for RuneScape on the official website. You check it out, most of it a postbag from hedge, and then at the bottom you read

Familiars are no longer forbidden to use in the Tzhaar Fight Caves

What would you do? Pak Yak with an extra 30 prayer pots? Steel Titan? Unicorn?

Nothing, I already beat the fight caves.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

I would think to many people would get fire cape thus causing it to be less of a accomplishment..

Unless your RSN is "imalil[bleep]er", please keep the title appropriate.

Thank you.

Yay new cape for slaying! \'

Would cause a lot of rants by people who already own the cape though

BOO

Bull ant with another nine pineapple pizzas, and I'll be seeing whether I can beat that annoying first 180.

I wouldn't even blink tbh... except maybe to go count the number of complain topics that promptly pop up.

Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.

Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation.

the only even remote difficult part about fight caves that requires any skill is switching prayers and thats not exactly to hard with the amount of videos on the internet to show you how to do it, so i dont see how this would change or make it easier.

GWD solo drops: Armadyl Hilt sold at 63.5m - (More to come hopefully)

wont make much of a difference, because most of the danger is in jad, not the fight leading upto it. and considering that that can end in a few seconds, the people who are too slow or otherwise unable to kill jad will still die.

and 28 invy spaces is already more than enough to beat the caves if you know what you are doing

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

If you used a fighter there is a chance Jad would attack it, I want to see that fight ::'

It is next to impossible for those -like me- who have a very laggy internet connection (wireless, steady at "no signal" at best times)..

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Well lets rephrase what he said:

As longt as you have a decent internet connection and pc so you don't get lag from playing a insanely low spec/req game the only part of fight caves tht requires skill is prayer switching.

This wouldn't be as large a change as would be expected. As described, the true danger is in prayer switch; no amount of inventoried items will help you click more accurately and quickly.

As Bruno said, I'd take a combat familiar and watch Jad own the hell out of it

unless you dont die, retreat, heal and try again, which mroe invy helps with. but chances are still, you mess up, you die

I would either bring a Steel titan or a unicorn stallion. Or maybe a pack yak with a few more pouches.

As has been said a few times already, supplies aren't the problem. Familiars aren't going to help you with prayer switching.

2dvjurb.png

Would the titan be able to fight the jad with you? if so you still have to prayer switch but surely it'd make him a hell of alot easier?

Or what about a bunnyip? everyone seems to use them for slayer because of their healing abilities then surely more people will be trying with the bunnyip so that they can hopefully get further?

Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.

2672nd person to reach 2496 total.
Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D

Bunyip would be next to useless: bunyip doesn't provide defense against KO's: the only thing it does is help you running out of supplies less quickly.

As said supplies aren't your biggest problem there.

However fighting familairs would be really usefull: being able to shorten a trip leats to less chance for mistakes (actually if a trip could go for around 45 mins even my connection could handle such a lag-free time on good days).

That being said: I wonder how much damage the titans actually would do..

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

yeah...I would predict people would use a bunyip for healing early on. Otherwise, Jagex would probably have Jad attack the familiar and that wouldn't last long

Fight Cave is easy as it is.

Those who find it hard is players who don't prepare first.

I disagree, it took me about 5 tries to get my fire cape and I did alot of preparation. I read alot of guides and watched loads of pray switching guides on youtube, I even practiced in game. The thing that gets people killed is a lack of composure. They get to Jad and the adrenaline kicks in and they start to click alot more slowly/less accurately. Once you're chilled out it's so much easier.

In terms of healing familiars, I'd say they would be of use, although they wouldn't make it so that many more people could do the fight caves. Not having to switch from the prayer to the inventory screen as much will help alot when being attacked by Jad's healers and personally I would have really appreciated the hp bonus because my fight with Jad was looong. I think it somehow glitched because the healers were healing him even after I'd attacked him and in the end it took me 7 super restore potions (4) before I killed him.

Fighting familiars would probably get demolished by the 360s/Jad and to be honest it is unlikely they would hit that regularly against a lvl 700 monster.

I play RuneScape because I fail at gaming. Thus, after many tries, I still have no fire cape. :P

I love to meet people; send me a pm if you see me on RuneScape! :)
