Muse, they've gotten a bigger following lately, but I really think their earlier stuff is better. And I'm sick of all the kids who've only ever heard Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia. They have better songs. My favorite is Time is Running Out.

I dont think they are under rated at all. Knights of Cydonia is better then Time is Running Out.

Yeah, except it bothers me that lots of people only know Knights of Cydonia (because it's on GH3) or Supermassive Black Hole (which is on Twilight soundtrack. :cry: that movie is awful and Muse should not be associated with it)

 

 

 

And they're much less popular in the US than in Europe, I think. I mean there's a following, but you can't find a lot of their music unless you go online. Best Buy only carries 3 of their albums (I think they have 7 if you count the DVD/CD sets)

Considering my mom knows who muse is and enjoys it makes me think they are anything but underrated or unknown. :)

Yeah, I too feel that they are under-rated. But as you said people know them, but I feel they aren't getting the reception they deserve.

I have a lot. Not my absolute favorites, but they all are very good and need to be heard by more people here.

Thinking I'll add down Primordial to this as well. I don't think they're too well known.

Not the sort of genre alot of people want to live for, but they're my favourite band nevertheless. I've been following for about 3 - 4 years and they're still playing tiny venues, not recognised at all.

 

 

 

The mixture of heavy guitar genius and melancholy in vocals make them just sound astonishing every time i listen...

If so-- Quasi, Elliot Smith, Pavement, and a lot of other bands would fit. I'm not mentioning bands like Modest Mouse, Spoon, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Decemberists because they already receive media attention.

Fort Minor is probably the most underrated band/artist of the 21st Century.

 

The singles Mike Shinoda released should have peaked on charts, found it incredibly hard to believe that they didn't.

 

The stuff he writes about is far more meaningful than 99% of mainstream Hip Hop & Rap; meaning his tracks aren't based off girls, fast cars, money or drugs.

 

Funny thing is, whenever I refer a friend to FM, they get hooked straight away & before you know it they've got all the songs. Damn, this world works in funny ways.
