Blowing kisses? Throwing beach balls? Whats the world coming to?

Hmm, ok. She was upset, so she took it out on the students.

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Christ, it's graduation. They're hauling people out in cop cars for beach balls and denying diplomas for bowing and blowing a kiss. That's seriously messed up. Isn't graduation supposed to be fun?

Schools in general need to lighten up, the "stupid laws" topic seriously points this out. In this years Seniors graduation School captain speech one line included "Well, those [bleep]ers quickly learned their lesson" and "We've done a lot in 6 years, We've gone from class to class, game to game, friend to friend, for the likes of JD, sleeping in Herby park to sleeping in Fairview park involuntarily". You'd have to know "JD" to get it, but all the teachers got the general message anyway. This years graduation was a fun for pretty much involved, what happened after the graduation? All the teachers and students went to a bar near the school. If schools were more relaxed on idiotic rules there'd be a lot friendlier atmosphere and much more would get done. My school is the 2nd best sports school in Ireland and always finishes within the top 10 in State exams results each year. Personally I think a lot of it is down to the general school atmosphere, fun and relaxed yet work gets done.

This makes me rage.

This was supposed to be the student's day, and some bat [cabbage] insane woman ruins it over some harmless fun. I really begin to worry who is calling the shots on anything nowadays. Chances are the superintendent is some old bat-crazy PC woman who thinks everything goes her way.

People like that do not deserve power to make any decisions beyond how to flip burgers. I can understand her wanting some civility, but seriously, it's graduation, people are going to be a bit happy.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

Glad that wasn't my school. My school district knew that it was OUR day to celebrate!

Lame school district is lame. It's fine, it you just wanna accept it and then move on, but it doesn't hurt to act foolish, it can be funny.

I'd have stood up there until I was forced down or got my diploma. That's rediculous. Seems to be getting more and more cases of claims like these of schools lately.

you would have been tasered

I don't think school officials carry tasers.

Get back here so I can rub your butt.

im confident that the parents had a talk with this intendant. a diploma is a sense of accomplishment that you've put four years of your hard work into, and if it can be taken away by a simple kiss, then that school is [bleep] up to the core.

But it's not just the intendant. It's the superintendant! He could blast him with his laser vision if he didn't go back to his seat!

This is just weird, though. If this were me, I would be wondering why the hell I was blowing kisses in the first place.

I agree. Power will always override logic. I saw a picture that said something along the lines of, "I have a rocket launcher - your argument is invalid". Even though I usually hate those, it's so damn true. It doesn't matter how reasonable your argument is - as long as they have power over you, they can always just have it their way. Unfortunately, the only way to fight it is to have more power than them.

Is this it?

Yeah. That's one of the reasons I like it here on TIF. Anyone can argue with anyone, and there really is no power involved. The mods certainly don't punish you for disagreeing with their beliefs. The only problem is with the ever-so-witty elitists who have a crowd of fanboys following them around. I guess that constitutes as a form of power. But oh well, nothing's perfect. Either way, TIF is still a great place for pure discussion.

It says they signed a form agreeing to adhere to a code of conduct. The kid should have just gone up, shook a couple of hands, grabbed his diploma and sat back down. It's only high school graduation.

*shrugs*

...But he'll more than likely get it, because it's stupid not to give it to him.

Wow, if this lady was the superintendant at my school last year during our graduation she would of lost her mind and probably shot one of us.

You try so hard to correct your own mistakes that were obvious and apparant that they were, indeed, not mistakes. And in the end you make yourself look like a fool.

Ridiculous. My mom would have the head of the principal if I was ever denied my diploma. Literally. She might even sue just because she's that crazy.

But that's just what I think.

I bet that person is going to loss there job for this well I hope the school system sucks no one is trained to teach special kids right, lots of schools have fraud when are people going to understand!

Periods, Commas, and Spell Check are three things that would do you a lot of good.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.
