July 6, 200917 yr The article did remind me of something though, why doesn't tip have a ventrilo/skype/whatever? I've always been kinda curious. Tip.it has its own IRC chat room, which in effect, is plenty - you don't need Vent/Skype if you have an IRC server. Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

I always thought that was just another form of chat like what we have in game, thus making it more inconvenient than clan chats. I'll have to check that out someday. My skin is finally getting softI'll scrub until the damn thing comes off
July 6, 200917 yr Again, I agree with the fundamental point of the article, and it's fine that players use these applications to communicate with others. So long as players assume and are prepared for the risks of doing such. That's also the reason Jagex suggests against using them, which is a good thing looking at the average RS player. I also feel internet communication will keep missing one of the most important parts of communication: body language. Because of that, I don't really care about the short comings of the current communication system, the biggest drawback will remain for a long time. Hmm that's one aspect I didn't consider and that like you said IS a big drawback of internet communication. You can't really communicate body language through the internet, even through webcams it's difficult. true the closest thing to body language we have is the smilies  Gamertag: EFs Predator.Games I play: Halo 3, Halo wars.

July 6, 200917 yr Is it just me, or do the fictional articles read as being rather corny? "Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security." Support transparency... and by extension, freedom and democracy.
July 6, 200917 yr Well, read the fictional article for once...I must say, it could have been longer. I also want to know why Varrock is being invaded. Also, having an army surrounding Varrock, even if they don't do anything, IS putting the city under siege; one of the biggest thing about having a city under siege is that it can't get outside supplies. Often times, a siege is more about starving the city then about invading it. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. July 6, 200917 yr Absolutely loved the fictional article. I have not read the fictionals in a while but i am so glad i did. It has the shaping up to be a great series. Brave New World: was nice and well written. It makes me wish i had been there back when it all started and i cannot wait until Jagex opens classic again to the public so i can experience what RuneScape was like that long ago. Third Party Communication: I couldnt really get into this one as much but i agree with many of the points addressed. Well written but not really my kind of article. Overall good articles this week big thumbs up! =D>
July 6, 200917 yr Unlike most people here I always read the fictional pieces, I think they're the most fun of all. The rest is nice too of course, but the fiction is pure entertainment . Nicely written too Zonorhc, two thumbs up!  Due to my epic stats, I have now started WGS (but I still hate spoilers).
July 7, 200917 yr Article: Brave New World Nice articles as always, though you should really check the names you use before you plagiarize them, as the title "Brave New World" is already taken by the author Aldous Huxley. Hacked on January 5, 2007 --> Lost: 56.4M, Santa Hat, Purple Partyhat, Green Partyhat, Christmas Crackerpeople who get rich and do it legit like joob and I always get f'd over in the end.

Often times, a siege is more about starving the city then about invading it. The reason will come in time. Also, this arc was preceded by the "War Running" arc from earlier in the year. And to Varrockians, siege is a state of mind. To them, until there's brutal house-to-house fighting going on, they're merely surrounded. Is it just me, or do the fictional articles read as being rather corny? That's what happens when they tell me to write about Runescape, instead of the GRIM DARK steampunk fantasy I usually work with. July 7, 200917 yr Just so I know, where do we send guest articles? I'd certainly enjoy having a go at the fictional if I could. I'm on the Seer's Journal too! This will be like practice for that and vice-versa. \ Follower of GuthixThe quill is a miracle, for it drinks darkness and sheds light. Oh right, by the way, I'm a girl. No more calling me a guy you lot~
July 7, 200917 yr i did not enjoy any of the articles -.- Could you give a reason. maybe something they could fix in them to make them better? Just saying you didnt like them isnt helpful to the writers at all...
July 7, 200917 yr That's what happens when they tell me to write about Runescape, instead of the GRIM DARK steampunk fantasy I usually work with. I'd be interested in reading the steampunk fantasy/sci-fi stuff.
July 7, 200917 yr Loved all three. I really love the nostalgia of Necro's article though, like the olden days with The Editor... Btw, I left TiF/RS, was the Editor revealed? :x My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
