How are you suppose to hold that? One hand on top and the other at the bottom?

You hold it just like a remote...

It is controlled by moving it around...

Yeah, I wasn't sure, I just looked at the picture ><

I just read the article. Looks sick

It look unique idea but it's probably bad idea because some people usually move their joypad for all times while play games. Also one handed probably not best balance in the air than two handed joypad. :(

Yeah, for example when im playing Halo2 with my mates in my room and i kill one of them i jump around all excited lol. if i did that with this controller id go all over the place. Also i like to wrap my duvet around myself when im playing a single player game. this controller would fail to work properly in this scenario :(

I had every faith that Nintendo would pull out something big, but its seems they've gone.. insane. It looks absolutely ridiculous, and i'm not sure its going to work out...

If you had read anything I posted, you would know Game Devs love this new controller.

Game Devolopers. The people who make the games.

Ah, never heard that before, lol. Anyway i'd expect Game developers to like the controller. I'm just not sure that it'll work in various games, and it'll just be a novelty that'll be blow over. Nintendo are taking a big risk here, I would have preferred an unoriginal controller, at least its tried and tested.

The Nintendo DS' touchscreen was thought of to be just a novelty. Now look at it.

Unless Nintendo want Sony and Microsoft to dominate the FPS 'market' they will have to make a 'normal' control, unless the old GC ones are compatable.

You could say it still is. Not one game has really used its potential, and the best game on DS, Advance Wars doesn't make much use of its features.

Metriod Prime: Hunters will use\uses it. The touchscreen is great for FPS.

WarioWare uses it greatly for its minigames, so do the minigames in Super Mario 64 DS.

I figure it'll be useful in Animal Crossing DS for typing messages. In Nintendogs it is also very useful

You can use your GameCube pads on the new Nintendo console too, if I am correct. Also, I am sure Nintendo brings it out with something that makes FPS gakes easier, more fun w/e, they're not really stupid, of course. :)

@Ianbur: Been to an arcade lately? Other than lacking tilt/yaw sensativity a lot of fps arcade games are pretty much similar (input periferal wise) to the Revolution. So if you want a 'tried and tested' type of controller, they've already been around for a long time. Nintendo just added some extra functionality to it...

@RebelAssassin: The Revolution does have jacks for the GC controllers (for backward compatability, duh) so...

The article also says that the remote can plug into more conventional controllers.

It looks good, but I can't make any real judgement until I see how it is used in a game. Either way, I'm taking the Nintendo road.

I doubt the jumping up and down thing would be a problem, it's probably not designed that way, and Nintendo probably had that in mind.

And for games designed for multiconsoles, Nintendo did say they are releasing a controller attachment like the gamecube's in style. I'm just hoping it will come packaged in with the system or controllers you buy. Not for my own sake, but for the survival of this system so it doesn't go overly off the track compared to the other 2 systems. Just gotta hope this round N will actually catch up in sales.

Here's a pic of the attachment for the controller

If I got a Revolution I would deffinetly get that controller attachment, its scary to think about the motions my free hand might make if its not wrapped around a controller  .
