If I got a Revolution I would deffinetly get that controller attachment, its scary to think about the motions my free hand might make if its not wrapped around a controller  .

lol not in that way... I mean I'm very animated when I play, one of those people who leans left and right when they make turns in a racing game and jumps up and down as if it would make the football player in the game run faster

Watch the video, it gives you a fairly good image of what it will be like. I especially liked the sword fighting scene. Who said that you should swing a sword just by pressing the A button? It should be exactly this way: Lazy players can't play the games. And no more complaining about kids getting fat because of playing video games, after your kid has played Medieval War for a few years, he'll have biceps the size of a big stone.

But seriously speaking, I think this will get a lot of slander from the unskilled fanboys of all 3 major consoles (including Nintendo). Why? Because now, you will actually need skill playing video games. No more hitting the golf club by holding down the B button while you eat popcorn. No more close-range sword combat by tapping the A button rapidly, you will actually need to learn sword techniques, agility and medieval battle tactics to complete games.

This is just the way video games should be: Tough. No more [kitty]ing around, catering to the needs of those who complain "we should be able to save every two steps and finish the game within 6 hours". Sure, we play video games on our free time, but major titles should no longer be easy to finish. We want video games that take months to complete, who wants to pay $60 for a game that you can finish in a day?

And this way, there will be no more "walkthroughs" for incompetent players. You'll actually have to do something yourself; i.e. play the game. Games weren't made so that you can tell your friends you've finished it in a day.

Well said, I fully agree.

No. It's ALLL about the graphics

Seriously though, I would love to try this. In my gamecube, the only game I play is Super Smash Bros. and I got several other games I don't even touch anymore :( I'll hope the controller would be THAT amazing and not something just hyped-up.

Here's a pic of the attachment for the controller

That's not a real pic, that's just an example made by the guys at IGN.

Well... uuhh.. it's not just that. It makes everything easy as well. For people who don't play games, this will re-ignite their interest in videogamse. A gamer's parents can easily try and play a game suitable for them, like a fishing game in that video. All you do is grab that remote and move it around. :)

Meh, I doubt anyone's gonna get ripped from swinging around a less than 1 pound remote control.

Lol. I guess if they made a controller sword that weighed 50 pounds it could happen

Wow, a sub-$200 introduction price suddenly makes it a lot easier for me to get it on launch. Being cheap (in a good way) really seems to be their thing in the last few years, just look at the introduction price for the Gamecube and Nintendo DS...

STAR WARS.

I completely forgot about if they got a Star Wars game on the rev, and you could have one pointer for a saber or 2 points as two sabers. Or 1 as saber, 1 for force powerzzzz.

That would be just...just wow.

Yeah, we're all going to look like "the star wars kid" waving those things around.

Also, with it being wireless and all, I'm wondering how stores will set up that wireless controller for people to use.

The Nintendo DS' touchscreen was thought of to be just a novelty. Now look at it.

It still is a gimmick because develpers just slap together a pile of crap and call it a game without even putting the touch screen to good use. The same thing will happen with the Revolution. They are both great ideas but aren't (and probably won't) be realized to their full potential.

All that I'm saying is to not get your hopes up.

The DS is different because you can really use it to enhance the current games. With the Rev's remote, you can. It's that simple.

Also, nice signature. You'll know how wrong you were in a few years.

Well, at least Nintendo did something different other than release some made up stats...

See it could work out if they redesign the controller, right now its design looks stupid. They need to think of something else i think. ITs not a bad idea to have it motion detected (i mean it won't work good for every game, but for some i think it would be awsome). They just need to work on their design a bit more.

Nah, that controller just might work. Good job Nintendo on being original, and innovative. It's nice to see something different, more appealing to a wider range or people. Like it was said earlier, this controler aims towards the older crowd, more casual people, rather than die hard gamers. It suits die hard gamers just fine, but a new generation. I'm sure halo players won't want to see this thing popping up for use on their X Box

Anyhow, I like it. The thing is, Nintendo continues to have child like games, so what're they doing in creating a new controller, aimed at an older age range? The reason Nintendo can't compete in the market is because they don't have top games, like the 2k sport series, or Halo, and games like that. Nintendo has again, a more child like feel. The mario series is AMAZING don't get me wrong, but if Nintendo does intend to compete in the gaming industry, it's gotta go mainstream, and tap into the teen market.
