A few years ago, I came to school to see one of my senior friends brought with him a new board game. This game comes from Japan, and is called 'Go' or 'igo' in Japanese. Slowy, I got hooked in the game, and became a ok player. Once he left, the game died out of the school. Today while playing sudoku, I had memories of this game, and picked it up again.

 

 

 

So does anyone here play Go? If so, how good are you, or how often do you play?

yes. i used to play with my dad before we had to move. its very fun, and the board is usually made of solid wood.

I play but every person I played with were VERY good so I never really learned...

OT: It is a very simple game, but it takes YEARS!! to master. I played for about 10 months, and was still 'eh' at it :lol:

Haha, I'm terrible at it, back in my primary school days where we had a club wiht people playing in the nationals. Never got in, for very obvious reasons.

It's not really, the thing that does make it hard is the strategy you can play. There are so many, and a game can be decided with one move in the very bigginning of the game. It just looks hard, thats what I though ;)

I have played a little bit; since you sent that server I will try to pick it back up. It is a really fun game, and its so different from must about anything else you will play.

I haven't played, but I know the basics because I was obsessed with Hikaru no Go for some time... Still haven't bought the last 6 volumes though. If you want to read manga about Go and learn some at the same time, it's pretty awesome and strangely addicting.

I remember years ago when I read Shonen Jump they had a manga about a kid who played go, it was called Hikaru no Go I think. I remember liking the manga but I never knew how to play. :P

I think I have a go set at home somewhere, though I think all I've done with it is make cool patterns with the pieces.

And to all the people who watched or read Hikaru no Go, I used to read that all the time. Never finished the seies, but I have I think the first 4 books. Was a good anime/manga :lol:

never played it, but it looks really fun. I might get started and play it while woodcutting :P
