January 16, 200620 yr Author I haven't seen it yet, but I heard it was really good. Too bad I can't order it this month as I need to pay my SalÃÆÃâÃâò criterion. Maybe I've got a few bucks left and I can order it. I also heard it was 100 times better than the cave. January 16, 200620 yr My top 5 British Horror movies: 1. Alien (British director, cast members, equipment, finding and filming location) 2. The Descent 3. Shaun of the Dead 4. An American Werewolf In London 5. 28 Days Later Ive seen all those films recently and have them all on DVD ^_^ British horror > hollywood horror. Now im not saying that Americans cant do horror at all, I mean Candyman, The Thing and Dawn of the Dead are just a few examples of great American horror. However, these films are all quite old now and I cant really think of any decent horror from hollywood in the last decade. I think with more incentive now from investors into British film some great directors and writers can come out of the shadows and take British horror to the top of the genre. :D Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. January 16, 200620 yr Author The problem is that it is almost impossible to make a good horror movie in Hollywood nowadays. People aren't 'scared' that soon as they were in the early 30's when Universal came with their monster collection. And because they need to earn a lot of money they cut out as much as possible to make it fit trough ratings that they have a maximum amount of people that can see it. And of course their lack of original ideas. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 16, 200620 yr You say it costs a lot to make a horror movie but I dissagree. The Descent had a budget of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã3.5m and made over ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã7m in UK cinemas alone. Its had a massive success in DVD sales and a pretty good response in Europe at theatres too. Its also scheduled to be released over in the US in theatres later this year. the problem with hollywood is that it thinks $10 million dollar contracts with "star" actors and $50 millions worth of CG is substitute for a good story and quality acting. January 16, 200620 yr Author I didn't say it costs a lot to make good horror movie. I say they want to make as lot money out of it as possible, and therefore edditing the movie so it fits trough more ratings. January 16, 200620 yr Author I saw National Treasure and a Sneak Preview in the cinema...still don't know what the name was of the movie :? Casanova was at the sneak preview this week. If I am correct. The movie is made before in '76 by Fellini. The original from Fellini was horrible IMO, I'm going to see this one tomorrow. January 16, 200620 yr Saw Stealth yesterday. It was unreal and pretty out of this world scenario but it's still enjoyable. I'm debating whether or not I should watch Star Wars 3 tonight. Seems worthless to me. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
January 16, 200620 yr Saw Stealth yesterday. It was unreal and pretty out of this world scenario but it's still enjoyable. I'm debating whether or not I should watch Star Wars 3 tonight. Seems worthless to me. January 16, 200620 yr Author Be Cool (2005) - Absolute Cack. ShadowFax - Star Wars Revenge of the Sith is a quality movie. Just see it. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 16, 200620 yr might as well see the third star wars if you watched all the other ones, i thought it was really good anyhow. i watched all these movies a while ago, i just dont have enough time anymore. The Royal Tenenbaums - went to library to pick up one flew (didnt have it there), so i got this and magnolia instead. seen them both before, but they are good enough to watch again. royal t is a wes anderson movie, so its freaking hilarious without the comedy style movie. its supposed to be a comedy, and its hilarious, but its just filmed much better and much better written. lots of funny movies out there, but this one and wes andersons other movies are definently some of the best. [ur=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401792/]Sin City[/url] - (recut and extended version). ordered it on dec 17th, got it on jan 14th  . the backorder line was kind of long. anyways, this is a quality movie. robert rodriguez definently knows how to direct a good movie, just look at his mexico trilogy. special quest director quentin tarantino in this movie, and they work very well together and with frank miller in the midst. 3 directors at the same time, you would think that would get confusing. watched the special features of the movie, the whole movie was filmed in one room that was just a big greenscreen. you can even watch the entire movie with out the background, and just see everything with out any special effects. this movie is awesome, the story is awesome, the acting is decent, tons of big name actors and actresses (did i ever mention to anyone that jessica alba is really hot?), the movie was put together very well, and you can actually watch the 4 stories seperatly if you wanted to (on the extended version). dont know if i put it in my top 10 last time, but its definently in my top 10 now. Best in Show - same director, writer and actors as in "the mighty wind". and like that movie, it is also a mockumentary. this one is much funnier though, its about a dog show, and how wierd the people who are in it are. definently a funny movie, and the style is still really interesting. i watched last weeks episode of the office right after (recorded it), and i noticed the style is very similar. anyways, a good funny movie to watch.
January 16, 200620 yr http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120866/ That was the last film I saw -- t'was in English, over the past lesson and a half. Don't bother watching it. It's got Anthony Hopkins in it, which is a plus, but it's got that air of... "let's adapt Shakespeare" -- you know the type: like that Macbeth film in which the witches are on roller skates in an underground carpark. deviantart account
January 17, 200620 yr Just saw the new Hitchhikers film. was the first film i saw. effects were incredible and it stayed relatively true to the books but it certainly wasnt as good as the 1980's mini series Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. January 17, 200620 yr Author Das Boot (1985 - Wolgang Petersen) - The uncut version. Seen it before, but still love it. Shows the 'boring' and 'suspense' sides of war in a continuously interesting movie. A must see. NÃÆÃâÃâóz w wodzie (1962 - Roman Polanski) - This was the second time I saw Polanski's first feature movie. This being his first movie it is also one of his best. The story is fairly simple, but there is so much to think about when you are watching this movie and also after watching the movie. The movie touches different subjects such as trust, lust class-war and much more. It's filmed PERFECTLY, and when you think of it that everything is filmed on water it's even better. A big, fat 8 out of 10. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 17, 200620 yr Das Boot (1985 - Wolgang Petersen) - The uncut version. Seen it before, but still love it. Shows the 'boring' and 'suspense' sides of war in a continuously interesting movie. A must see. Did I say the Graduate was my dad's favourite film? I meant that, he loves it, so do I. It's probably the only war film ever made where you want the German's to survive. It really helps you realise that there are two sides to a war. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
January 17, 200620 yr Author Casanova (2005 - Lasse Hallstr̮̦̉̉m) - Meh, it's a nice costume movie. But it stops at that. Nothing interesting, Venice looked good (could've been much better), but a totally passionless very non-Itallian atmosphere overal. There is no real love or passion in this movie, the 'funny' things it should have weren't funny. It looked good, too bad the rest lacked. 5?/10 Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 18, 200620 yr Hated the actor of Mozart, awfull laf :DD sicko... But fine movie after all.. Excellent! Just excellent! 1 more movie to my favorite kung-fu movies. :P ÃÆÃâÃâ¹Ã¢â¬Â NJOY.
January 19, 200620 yr I watched Rear Window. It was quite good, so very much like that Simpsons episode...Quite well shot, very suspenseful...James Stewart is an amazing actor. But I still don't think it deserves it's tremendously high spot on the IMDB list. Still quite good though.
January 19, 200620 yr Thinking... thinking... Well I saw From Dusk Till Dawn, 2 i think. It was OK, but the thing on my cable said it was the original with Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney but neither of them was in it. It was about a bunch of vampires robbing a bank, pretty cool stuff. Before that was, The Ringer. I can't begin to tell you how ridiculously bad that movie was. The acting was awful, the humor was cheap and the ending was absolutely unfathomable. Never would happen that way. Ever. Don't see it.
