January 9, 200620 yr Donnie Darko (2001) - Very interesting film. The ending definetly made me think, but I had the feeling I had missed something which made me not fully understand what was going on. I think it's one of those films where you need to see it at least twice to understand them. Worth a look in anyway.
January 9, 200620 yr Didnt you watch Con Air last night Phil? I did Planning on watching Sin City tonight but theres a documentary on C4 at 8 that i wanna watch so dunno if i'll have the time. January 9, 200620 yr Didnt you watch Con Air last night Phil? I did Ahh yep nearly forgot about that. I've seen it loads, it's an entertaining film, but not one of my favourites. :P
January 9, 200620 yr Saw wedding crashers again last night, its just as good as I remember from when I saw it in theaters  Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
January 10, 200620 yr Last I saw was Hero. Great movie, if you haven't seen I suggest you go out and rent it right now. Beer
January 10, 200620 yr Oldboy (2003) - Same story as that post I wrote in which nobody replied, I think. Quality movie and deff. worth seeing. well, ill reply. this is my third favorite movie. it is awesome. it is great. i love this movie. 8)Maybe I ought to see that before the remake overwhelms it. And so I can go to the movie's and say, "this is not as good as the original" or visa versa.
January 10, 200620 yr Hostel...is not as good as Saw 1 or 2...but still very gruesome..lots of blood...but no plot...based on true events...all i can say is...never go to Bratislava
January 10, 200620 yr Maybe I ought to see that before the remake overwhelms it. And so I can go to the movie's and say, "this is not as good as the original" or visa versa. re...make...? i dont think thats going to work out all that well. its definently worth seeing re-make or not :D and why are they remaking it? its a 2003 movie, and it wasnt filmed sloppily or anything. its perfectly fine. sometimes i just dont understand where people get these ideas from... Magnolia - when i first watched this all that time ago i wasnt as experienced with movies, so this seemed like the oddest film ever made, and i loved it because of that. having watched it again, i thought i might not think of it as anything special, because ive seen some very odd movies. but it was still a great movie. storyline: superb. acting: decent-great-crappy (many different charachters). it flowed together all very nicely, it seemed very well put together. the only thing that could have made this movie better (and bumped it into my top 10, sitting top 20 right now, along with about 100 other movies  ) was no julianne moore (sat the whole movie thinking it was drew barrymore, but i couldnt think of her name and i looked at the back, lo-and-behold its julianne moore. i hate them both equally: a whole lot). she was annoying as hell like in every other movie she is in. the end of the movie makes up for everything though, its all really crazy at the end. not going to say anything more, but its great.
January 10, 200620 yr Author Huh. I didn't see a movie yesterday. Going to see Mrs. Henderson Presents tonight at an early showing. I guess it'll be a old woman comedy though. :P Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 10, 200620 yr Author Mrs. Henderson Presents - Just got back from this movie. It was labeled as an old woman movie. It kind of is, but it's all a bit modernized despite it's classic looks. It was a pretty nice movie, fortunuatly it wasn't too serious. Also there was a lot of functional nudity, every Bob Hoskins was showed fully nude, which was quite funny. Overall it was a very charming movie. 7.5/10 Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 11, 200620 yr Dog Day Afternoon - A 70's flick with Al Pacino about some bankrobbers. Has a considerable amount of humour, and I enjoyed it.
January 13, 200620 yr I just saw Bin-Jip. It was really good, I can recommend it to anyone who likes a film with more in it than some lame jokes and a few good punches / shots to the head. Incidentally, it might be fun to note that the 2 main characters don't speak during most of the movie. One doesn't speak at all, the other says 3 lines in the entire movie (in no particular order): Breakfast is ready. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I love you.
January 13, 200620 yr I watched L.A. Confidential. It was pretty good; good acting, intriguing, suspensul story, pretty good characters...It was just an overall good movie. Top 100 worthy, it was just pretty good. I kinda expected a bit more, because with an award winning screenplay+kevin spacey+russell crowe+high IMDB rating, I was expecting a bit more...But it was still quite good don't get my wrong. I just got my hopes up so high that pretty much no movie could match them. It was still all around pretty good. Anyways, I'll rent my usual 2 new releases tommorow, plus a favourite. I'm thinking Red Eye, Hustle n Flow, and Rear Window.
January 13, 200620 yr The Bourne Supremacy. (Sequal of 'The Bourne Identity') Stars Matt Damon, hes a former CIA agent suffering from amnesia and doesnt know who he is, the CIA is after him and its a big game of cat and mouse all over the world. I liked it. NumaNuma Fan | WoW > Rs
January 13, 200620 yr Author The Island - Took it with me from work since I hadn't seen it yet, and it has got Scarlett Johansson in it. It was kind of how I expected. The whole clone idea is just used as a gimmick to make, yet another, one dimensional actionmovie. Also it doesn't really have it it's own world, everything is just randomly stolen from other famous SF/Adventure movies such as "Star Wars", "Blade Runner", "The Matrix", and even a little bit of "A Clockwork Orange". Visually it was quite nice and the actors gave a pretty decent preformance. Overall a 6.5/10 will do. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 14, 200620 yr Author 37̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâð2 le matin (1986) - Simply amazing. Words can not describe how much I loved this film. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
January 14, 200620 yr The Graduate This is my dad's favourite film and he's been bugging me to watch it for ages. What a classic American comedy! Dustin Hoffman was brilliant, and i loved all the music from it. A great film with a really nice happy ending, and some absolutely hilarious parts. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
January 14, 200620 yr Having a bit of a film day today, since it's been a busy week Leon What a fantastic film, brilliant acting by Jean Reno and extroadinarily good acting from Natalie Portman for someone so young at the time. It really was remakably touching, I loved it. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
January 14, 200620 yr Walk The Line Finally got round to watching this Johnny Cash biopic and I wasn't disappointed :) Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon both put in realyl strong performances, particularly for a pair that have never sung before. So any of you Man In Black fans out there, I'd highly recommend this fitting tribute to the late, great Johnny R. Cash. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
January 14, 200620 yr Hostel - Great Horror film...no plot though...based on true events that are so gruesome that you cant even believe they happened in real life...also lots of sex...not for underagers -Howie
January 15, 200620 yr I watched Red Eye and The Constant Gardener. Red Eye was quite an entertaining movie. It only ran 76 minutes, and was focused every moment. Even the beginning's, before the guy goes psycho, are really good (forshadowing, character building, setting up subtle things that come back into play a bit later etc.) What I noticed was that not only did the two main character's play their roles well, but all the...other people around them (kinda between supporting cast and extras) were really kinda fun to watch. It was pretty smart, pretty good acting, and I donno why, but I enjoyed the no-fluff directing...If you want a pretty exciting, quick-moving movie, you might as well watch this. If you don't like it, it's only an hour and a bit long. But it's good for a larf. The Constant Gardener was basically the complete opposite, but it too was pretty good. There was a lot of character building throughout, and it's use of flashbacks was interesting. It's story is something I've never seen before in a movie (corruption of pharmaceutical companies testing on people in Africa) and it was pretty intriguing...I can see how someone could get bored though, I drifted off (not to sleep, but semi-sleep) at various downtimes, and don't let the box or the trailer or the genre fool you. This doesn't really have any action...It was a pretty good movie, excellent acting I must say, and I thought it looked amazing in Africa. It kinda seemed like it ran on too long, but that was just me. A pretty good movie overall.
January 15, 200620 yr Hostel - Great Horror film...no plot though...based on true events that are so gruesome that you cant even believe they happened in real life...also lots of sex...not for underagers -Howie I agree I love Hostel, they like tripled security at the Rave movie theaters because they didn't want anyone underage getting in without a parent. I got stopped and had my ID checked like 8 times it was crazy.
January 16, 200620 yr WOW! What can i say?.. I just watch the special edition dvd of 'The Descent' and it was amazing. Brit horror at its best. Excellent character development and great effects (for a film with no CG). Its got a great anti-hollywood ending and is actually scary. The sound track is great to keep you in suspense, it shows a lot of similarities to John Carpenter's 'The Thing' with the "boom boom" heartbeat music. The mentality of the characters and the spiral into something primal gives hints and nods to 'The Shining', and of course the creatures and atmosphere is very 'Alien'. Theres references to some of the best horror and thriller movies ever made and I have high hopes for Neil Marshall's next project sometimes next year ^_^ The same year that this film was released (over here) another film came out called 'The Cave' which has a very similar description. However dont be deceived thinking its the same film just one American and one Brit because they are totally different. 'The Descent' had a budged about $20million less than the cave and looks like it had one $20million more lol. The cave has dreadful unlikable characters with rubbish "monster" development. Its the typical hollywood "scare" movie which really fails on every angle. If you liked 'The Cave' then you are probably more into bang bang non stop plotless action and will probably not understand 'The Descent', but if you want to be scared and want a film which has much deeper meaning than it obvious then go and see 'The Descent' because quite frankly its my new favourite British film (not including Alien). Sorry Simon Pegg but Shaun of the Dead goes to second now :D For all Europeans go and get the DVD of it now on R2 :D and for you yanks then wait until a bit later this year for it to get a cinema release. ^_^ 9.5/10 Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape.
