Do you prefer Summer or Winter?

It seems that a lot of peoples' reasons for liking winter better either have to do with getting warm (hot chocolate, blankets, etc.) This confuses me.

Anyways, I like winter because I simply like being cold. During my free-period in the winter me and friends sit outside without coats and induce stage 1 hypothermia almost daily. Its quite fun, and its fun to see your body acclimatize eventually. Other reasons are that I don't get as fatigued during workouts, I can think and read slightly better (it is thought that the brain works most efficiently at fifty-five degrees Fahrenheit), gotta love snow too. I would love to live in a place that was covered in snow year-round until I got sick of it.

I am the same, I love the cold and snow.

Here in Maine that isent taken very kindly sense most people hate the cold and snow. Then why move here in the first place?

I like winter more because the weather sucks less here. In summer it's 105+ every day, and zero humidity, and hair-dryer hot wind, so it generally blows (except nearly nightly thunder storms, those make it all worthwhile). Winter is nice a lot of the time, though, temperatures occasionally stick to a schedule of hanging around 70 degrees during the day. I mean, it hops between 100+ and in the teens if the planet feels like [bleep]ing with us, but it's nice a lot of the time. Don't like ice or sleet storms, though. And the quarter inch of snow we get a year usually does more to bum me out than make me happy.

I like spring, though. Still cool a lot, but it's warm during the most active parts of the day. Lovely.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I dont really like either. Summer where I live it gets very hot and humid. Winter it gets very cold, and me driving to college everyday with icy roads will not be fun.

I actually perfer Fall. Not to hot, not to cold, and not to humid. Just right

It seems that a lot of peoples' reasons for liking winter better either have to do with getting warm (hot chocolate, blankets, etc.) This confuses me.

There's a difference between getting warm when it's cold and thus feeling cozy, and being warm when it's hot and thus sweating or just feeling uncomfortable and needing to cool off (go swimming). I LOVE hot chocolate but it's not as satisfying to drink it in the summer.. then it just makes me feel too hot. I also love cuddling with blankets. It's not about getting warm it's just about feeling cozy. Again, can't do that in the winter without sweating to death.

Summer. By far.

Winters here kind of suck. Unless you love snow a lot. I don't. (and now with my sister out of the house, I have to do even more shoveling - great!)

My body already seems to be in an eternal colder-than-normal state, so cold temperatures are the last thing I need.

Snow just annoys me a lot. Here it tends to melt really easily, so yep, you guessed it, it's not really snow, it's more like slushy crap all over the place. Wonderful.

Blizzards are even worse. Sure, the snow from them doesn't melt too easily (since the temperature stays really cold for a few days), and I'd probably get a snow day or two, but they really aren't fun. Especially when school isn't cancelled.

Summer is nice. I was born in the summer. I like warm temperatures (albeit not burning hot...). Rain is perfectly fine with me, humidity is good. No school. And...no snow.

I love skiing and snowboarding, but school means I can't do it too much. So for now, summer. Staying warn can be fun though, sitting inside near a fire with a blanket when it's snowing like crazy is so nice.

I cannot stand the heat, but I love the cold. My view is: I can only take off so much in the heat, but for the cold i can always put on more.

It may help that I live in a part of Cali that gets absolutely no snow, our winters go down to about 45F at the lowest, but our summers can hit pretty hard and its usually either extremely humid or extremely dry.

Plus cold = girls cold = generally more hugs, and who doesn't like hugs? :twss:

It should be asked:

Do we prefer the sun while gold,

or when its face is silver?

White lines of ice inviolate,

or heated, running rivers?

Does warmth and orange joy compel us,

or is it azure isolation?

Or is it that we wish to see our world preserved,

away from Summer's degradation--

You ask me my choice?

Between crystal earth and greening trees?

I must tell you, I can't decide:

For both inspire poetry.

Oh man. Talk of seasons always makes me feel like writing.

But I don't want to go among mad people!

Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."

Hugs!

I probably get more in the summer, because in Dunnedin ( the place i live ) it rains 2/3 days in the winter.

Although I do like to snowboard.

I honestly do not know. Winter has snow, and thus hockey, skiing, tobogganing, hot chocolate, keeping warm (Not a solitary act), and so forth. Then Summer has swimming, rugby, running, less school, cottages, lakes, forests, biking, hanging out outside, and more.

I'll just weasel out of the decision and choose Spring time. Rugby season in full swing, beautiful weather, not too hot, not too cold, sunny, green, and just overall gives you a great feeling.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Most definitely summer. Why, you ask? Well, here are some reasons:

-Ice cream

-Summer vacation

-The beach

-Swimming

-The weather, in general

I hate winter so much. It's freezing cold, and the place where I live doesn't snow at all.

I like both equally. I love winter because in December is both my birthday & Christmas; I get to go home to Washington for break; I love snow and winter sports. I love summer because there is always something to do; I get another chance to go home and visit my family; symbolizes the end of the school year.

I will take winter 100% of the time over summer. Not because of Christmas (which costs a lot when you buy for 5 people) nor my birthday (which is in early December so technically autumn), but because I hate heat.

Winter Pros.- Plant shutdown (no work), cold weather (no sweating), Hockey season, snowball fights, snowmen, snow forts (especially when used in conjunction with snowball fights)... I could keep going but you get the point.

Winter cons- Drive-in is closed, no demolition derbies... that's about it, I think.

As for ice cream, I eat it all year, so yeah...

As much as I enjoy laying on the beach doing absolutely nothing, Winter wins this one. It gets unbearably hot here in Texas, so hot that the simple idea of getting into my car after a day of work in the summer is painful. The cool air for the whole 2 weeks of winter is something I enjoy. Winter here in Houston though isn't really the winter you are thinking of with shoveling snow off of driveways and changing the tires on your car. I also work significantly more in the winter than I do in the summer (55 hour weeks compared to 30 hour weeks). And who would want turn down money.
