Its a video of a Water Troll boss monster Jagex is developing for Runescape. MMG unveiled it at a game conference.

Probably just a new monster from a new quest (like the Armored Zombies were).

The video didn't work for me. However, am I the only one who thinks this could be linked to the new GWD room?

Water Troll, Water is used for bo... nah, too easy.

Bet its just another Distractions and Diversions thing.

This video holds some more secretive things than I had previously thought. I only just noticed this now and to my knowledge I'm the only one who's found it.

 

Pause the video at 15:09. Hidden behind Mark Gerhard you can see what appears to be a new spellbook.

 

 

It's only there for literally about 1 second but here's a picture.

In the video it shows up a bit clearer so feel free to check it out on your own as well.

 

Edit: Regarding the troll, it's a pretty intimidating thing. Definitely a boss battle I'd say. It takes it's weapon and armor obviously from a shipwreck, and later in the video you can see them designing what appears to be a seaside town, so I'm thinking the two could be linked. Maybe a dungeon that one gains access to after/during a quest, similar to Corp beast.

It might be just related to the whole. designing part. maybe a testing interface? but then again. does anyone see the sea theme? Especially considering we got info regarding the brine sabre becoming the shiznit?

I've watched this video over 20 times in the past month looking for future updates and the Spellbook as well as the water troll caught my eye.

 

I think the spell book in the video segment is what we have now. This video is over 6 months old and they updated the spell book appearance a couple of months ago.

If there is going to be a new spellbook, that´s a big load of spells O_O

This is pretty old through I tell you what it means.

 

This so called Water Troll is going to be in the next Pirate Quest the things it is wearing are from a Ship most likely the one on Harmony or the one underwater by Dragontooth Island.

 

The new land piece is likely the Eastern Lands and its going to most likely have 50-Ships Mufassah and possibly Rabid Jack in it.

I'm not extremely savvy with whatever he was talking about, so it was quite amazing learning how everything can come together so quickly.

That bald fat guy told some REALLY [cabbage]ty jokes. Also cool how he said 2.8 million forum posts per week.

Saw that a few months ago, it's quite interesting, not sure if its a "super-boss" though

We're definitely getting new troll graphics. Most likely a quest boss. Very interesting to see how they design NPCs and landscapes.

The 'spellbook' is more likely developers tools, you can make out arrows in just about all the symbols in it. Theres also the fact they were showing terrain being built around that point in the video, I dont see a reason why they would suddenly pop up the spellbook while showcasing something pretty unrelated (and i would doubt the developers would even access the same way as in-game).

Very interesting video :P great seeing how they design it all etc i'd say just wait and see instead of trying to guess what future updates will be but w/e :razz: also i couldn't figure out what mark said about chuck norris either :blink:

I'm kinda uninterested in the troll - it was the spellbook that made me go WTF? I think it is possible that it's just developers tools though, but why would they make them into a spellbook like format? :blink: It's definitely not one of the spellbooks we already have though.

Wow, it surprised me how fast that new content was build.
