Ooh, finally the full set has an effect. A completely useless one, but an effect nonetheless. Actually, this, combined with the agility update, may have given me enough reason to buy a month's membership.

The Trident also has a special attack:

 

Penance trident

Reap

A chance of instantly killing an enemy with a Combat Level less than 50 (not including players, bosses, summoning familiars, or creatures that must be killed in a specific way).

 

In PvP, 'Reap' has the same chance of removing a third of the opponent's current hitpoints.

 

 

Speaking from a strictly PvM perspective, I don't think the 1 in 60 chance of saving runes is really worth it though. The magic attack bonus isn't bad but being two handed you lose the +15 mage attack you get from the mage's book, or the +20 from a spirit shield.

Yes but the trident will be much easier and much cheaper to obtain.

Oh come on, it is not that bad. Well I do consider the BA update pretty useless but hey they are considering putting the strength bonus back.

A fair amount of concern has been voiced about the Penance Torso's new combat stats (thanks for the feedback!).

 

We decided to increase some of the other stats on the armour, give it the prayer restoring set bonus, and allow it to drop on the floor when dying (as apposed to being destroyed).

 

This however meant we needed to reduce the strength bonus to balance things out.

 

So we're now considering how best we can address this - we can put the strength bonus back on, but it will mean reducing some of the other stats. Your opinion is most appreciated!

I still don't get why do the four hats have the same stats though, whats the point of getting all four then if you can just get one?

 

 

I hope they consider restoring runner boots to the +1 range +1 mage, they were useful little things. If i wanted a pair of rune boots i'd go and buy them thanks

Never played, Barbarian Assault, but I've been meaning to. I think I'll check out Orb Project and some Minigames I haven't done in awhile pretty soon too.

 

Thiev updates are kinda cool, I guess I like being able to pickpocket more at a time, even though I can't raise my thieving any more. <_<

People who don't like the whole fighter Torso thing: Owned.

Time to get Bandos/Barrows/Dragon and continue with your day, kiddies. All 3 of those were, and are, better then the Torso anyway.

Really? It requires 390 points in each role, you'd have to be pretty inefficient at making money for that to be easier than getting 5m for a mage's book.

i have no reason to believe that the penance horn is for anything but show, but u know, i'm curious

Because if it's just for show, i'm getting lvl 5 healer and not bothering with anything else, teams always need healers more than other classes usually (at least they did back in the olde days :P)

How on earth can you consider a minigame horrible if you haven't even tried it once?

I never tried trouble brewing because I thought I would dislike it. Had to do it for some of 'the stuff' and disliked it a lot, never went back. Had to play a game of soul wars for the newest quest, had never done it before because I thought I'd dislike it and again, I thought the minigame sucked pretty hard. Same thing for temple trekking, castle wars and chompy hunting. Really, you can get to dislike a minigame by just reading guides about it.

Only minigame this doesn't apply to is stealing creation, I actually rather like it but I still wouldn't be able to play more than 5-6 games in a row without getting really bored.

 

So no unless that staff or agility/cooking xp boosts turn out to be really awesome I won't even be trying it. The whole concept of having to cooperate with people who don't even know what they're doing most of the time totally turns me off.

I think they removed the torso Str Bonus to upgrade the Defence Bonus. Now alot off people are panic buying BCP's and they go for 50m+ at world 2. They are probs hiding the rants.

JAgex posted the update on the main page 2 hours early, because of some mistake, and they removed it afterwards... It's topics on RSOF about that early released update that they tried to hide...
