I think they removed the torso Str Bonus to upgrade the Defence Bonus. Now alot off people are panic buying BCP's and they go for 50m+ at world 2. They are probs hiding the rants.

JAgex posted the update on the main page 2 hours early, because of some mistake, and they removed it afterwards... It's topics on RSOF about that early released update that they tried to hide...

JAgex posted the update on the main page 2 hours early, because of some mistake, and they removed it afterwards... It's topics on RSOF about that early released update that they tried to hide...

Which made no sense for them to hide something that they leaked, and everyone knew, and that was gonna be released two hours later. It was quite stupid actually.

Can we make a separate thread for the Agility Update? Discussion of this rather skill-changing update (3 skills other then Agility, rather) is getting bogged down in Nerd-Rage, Spam, and Speculation.

i have no reason to believe that the penance horn is for anything but show, but u know, i'm curious

Because if it's just for show, i'm getting lvl 5 healer and not bothering with anything else, teams always need healers more than other classes usually (at least they did back in the olde days :P)

And KISS, pures suck. Jagex has stated since practically the beginning of the game, around the time Guthix did God letters, that they don't approve of pures and don't program their game for them.

Because they got around to it. They've been wanting to change BA for a while and they finally did it. It was fine for a while, but when better stuff comes out you gotta upgrade. And they gave a much better set bonus. Having the Fighter alone has always been crap.

This looks like a very interesting update, I look forward to trying it out. I might try Shark Fishing now since its possible to get 2 at a time with 99 Agility. I am excited to loot Master Farmers too. :P

Depending on the hunter rate, Black Warlocks (butterflies found in the jungle) could be insane experience at 600~ XP a catch.

 

The BA rewards look cool, I have no interest for any 'strength bonus' losses they all look pretty good. If we ever got a skilling Prayer Book I think the Penance amour would be very useful.

Let's see a quote from the source then, or you can retract that. most people know full well that jagex has made next to no serious confirmed derogatory statements about pures.

The new whip colours are pretty, although a rather random reward, but hopefully all the new stuff will help encourage people to actually play BA, which I'm glad for, for I quite enjoy the minigame.

Because they got around to it. They've been wanting to change BA for a while and they finally did it. It was fine for a while, but when better stuff comes out you gotta upgrade. And they gave a much better set bonus. Having the Fighter alone has always been crap.

 

A better set bonus, an upgrade? They've made all the helms have the exact same stats, killing the use of them in range/mage and accuracy bonuses. They made the fighter torso nothing more than another rune platebody, and the skirt and boots have also been tweaked into a useless purpose, no longer being range alternatives or cheap mage/range boosters.

 

And the set bonus is to restore 3 prayer points per minute? That has such a limited use, most people who collected the items, only wanted one item for one specific purpose, now they will have to go through the minigame several times to get all the other pieces to finally get a use, and a rubbish one at that.

 

The only thing that's benefited is the penance gloves!

 

The whip is fine, the double experience is fine, but the item rewards have gone from being unique to just another set of rune armour.

We've decided to adjust the stats - putting the strength bonus back. This does mean that the other stats need to be reduced back to towards their original states (to balance it with other armour in the game).

 

The prayer set bonus will remain on the armour.

 

This is being to released into the game shortly (so will mean the worlds being rebooted).

 

Hope you still enjoy playing the mini-game and the various other rewards and that this change keeps the torso of value.

Well then, looks like I need to get my agility up to start catching some of those guys. The hunter exp looks extremely promising(Though chins and grenwalls are amazing profit...).

 

And Barb assault update=win! I'm as good as a master at this game, with lvl 5 healing and defender, plue like lvl 3 or 4 attack. I don't level collector now cause it's useless, but before I made that decision, I think I leveled to 3. I sometimes randomly play barb assault just for fun and high gambled the points, now I can do it and charge the horn for double agility exp! (Which will come in handy on my way to 80 to catch black warlocks for amazing hunter exp!)

Did the point system change, or did they really change high gamble to just 30 points compared to the old 500?

Not too impressed. The Master Horn is super though. Someone will have to do calculations to see if playing BA to charge it up over and over again is faster if you don't use it and just keep training the whole time. If it fails at that then I'm not liking this update... though playing BA is a bit more enjoyable than training Agility *ugh*.

 

The prayer restore set effect is probably something I'll never use. For Slayer, it means ditching the Slayer Helm and losing the +15% Att and Str. Absolutely not. Again, someone will have to compare the full set against Prossy Top, Bottom, Netz Helm, and Dragon/Bandos/White Boots. I don't think it will do well, especially since Netz and Dragon/Bandos Boots give offensive bonuses too. Maybe make it so the full set gives +4 prayer points/min, and reduce that by 1 for every part you don't use. Then I'd use the boots at least.

 

Trident is pretty cool. I'd say to boost the effect to 1/10 chance, give it the 10% or at least a 5% DB, and give it a good stab/strength bonus too, and then I'd definately get it. I might get it anyway. Now, what >50 monster has the highest hp... Ah! It's the Wall Beast at 105 HP. Or Moss Giants in the Chaos Tunnels at 85 if you can't be bothered getting a Wall Beast.

 

Colored Whip is pretty sweet. For 50 points it should totally give a small bonus. Maybe like +2 prayer for white, +1 str for green, +3 slash for yellow, and +10% HP restore for blue. Or leave it at the colors, I'm totally getting one.

 

Defense bonuses of armor aren't anything special... new Str bonus of boots is nothing compared to Dragon (and you can easily get the money for one in the time it would take to

 

And all the armor should have offensive bonues. Strength at least, or accuracy like the old Fighter Hat did+some others. They really should. Seeing as these are, supposedly, it looks like, made from the hides of these monster dudes.

 

Of course, this isn't just an update with BA. The Agility bonuses are sweet. I approve :)
