mcneilp Posted March 30, 2010 Share Posted March 30, 2010 Got a couple of destruction 2.0 kills today, used a mortar strike to collapse a building on a sniper taking pot shots at my squad.Had a completely [developmentally delayed]ed squad earlier, i was a medic along with this other guy. The other two were assault and engineer. I captured a point, the squad spawned on me just as a Bradley light tank decided to show up and [bleep] us up pretty good. The engineer hit it once with an RPG, he died so i ran over to revive him. We both ran around the corner where the tank was waiting for us. Our other medic was behind a rock just to our right, he couldn't be hit but he could still revive us. He revived me and the engineer like 3 times, we got killed instantly each time. It's childish but i done the same to him when he wandered into a snipers killing zone. If anyone on xbox360 wants to play, send me a pm on tif with your GT and i'll add you. InkofDeath Posted March 30, 2010 Share Posted March 30, 2010 Bad Company 2 looks much better, especially when you factor in the destruction. I'd have to argue that some of the lighting and 'atmospheric qualities' in some of the levels/maps in MW2 do have more appealing traits than any map in BC2 does. The detail in the textures are relatively the same but the style for BC2 tries to look more realistic, than just making a guy wear clothing item X and make it look believable. This difference is why the realistic approach looks better than the MW2 'believable' approach, even if either one was inferior in graphics. Also the openness/spaciousness in BC2 doesn't present a lot of detail if you look at the maps in their entirety, in comparison to MW2 where the maps are smaller and thus look more 'filled in'. I think BC2 still looks better though simply because I am a fan of realistic art styles in video games and that the openness of the maps isn't a flaw to me as some may believe it to be. ----- @Mcneil: Do I hate Medics who continue to revive me in a 'lose-lose' situation. Especially if the reason I died was because four/five enemies rushed us, and I ran out of ammo with one or two guys left, and I get revived to not be able to defend myself without using a pistol or quickly trying to switch to something usable, which isn't enough time anyways. Makes me mad. --- Also, I'm beginning to notice that more and more teams prefer to destroy the building the M-COM station is in, rather than try to blow the M-COM up. Reasons why is that you can stay at a distance, so you don't lose tickets. If you get four guys spamming their 40mm Grenades and just one tank, that building will go down quickly. I have trouble imagining doing the C4s on the UAV and just wrecking the building very quickly. I think it would be like tenish C4's to take down a full-sized building? But when you factor in the destructible enviroment and that most of this game is squad based...I have to give the advantage to BC2. Started using the medic today. Might use a shotgun insead of LMG's. A game could have average graphics, but still be incredibly fun to play, while a great looking game could be boring/bad. Better graphics only add up to more stress on the console really, (except for PC if you have a good card). So are the new maps any good? Do they have tanks (loooooooove tanks.)? And yes, people do destroy the building instead of the actual station, which is pretty lame. I think on some maps you could go the entire game without getting killed once if you mortar spammed the buildings. Now, I have done this too (arica harbor, just hanging back with an abrams and bombarding it, but that is the ONLY place I do it since the first area is too close quarters.), but I think it is a pretty lame tactic. They need to change it so the building collapse kills everyone in it, damages the station, but not FULLY KILL IT, and the station is still in a crater area in the rubble, so you have to climb down to it to plant it. And shotgun ranges.... very funny to watch friends get headshots with the SAIGA w/ slugs from half-way across the map. Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne. Played with it tonight and owned with it. Was the last guy to leave a barn we had captured on conquest. I was hiding behind a quad bike and a small shed when the enemy light tank stopped right outside the barn, capping the flag point. I put an ammo box down and started throwing normal hand grenades. Managed to blow the tank up and kill the other guy who got out to fix it.That same game i saw a squad mate blow a building up and wipe out an entire enemy squad with Destruction 2.0. Pretty epic. English? Which is the right term... anyway. So, since he did slightly sound odd over the mic, they started killing him... for no reason except his voice. <_< I didn't kill him, even when he killed me thinking I was going to, and actually healed him when I could. When I revived him, they ended up killing him again, and I said I was sorry. #-o Sometimes I wonder why... They are actually nice outside of gaming, but they take gaming pretty seriously. I just cant get away from my recon and engineer classes. I THINK that it is counting the number of shells that have been dropped on the ground...and not the number of actual call in's. Only expleanation I can think of. krimi Posted March 31, 2010 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Engineer is so much fun! I have the red dot and 4x scope unlocked but is there any real need for them? I feel the ammo or explosive upgrade is much better to use. Also, I love placing anti-tank mines in high traffic areas where attackers seem to rush at with their vehicles; the attackers couldn't get past with their vehicles at the second base at Arica Harbor and the first base in Valparaiso. I got my first ace pin defending that round at Valparasio, got the final kill on some medic trying to k/d pad up on the bushy hill at the entrance of the base. The xm8c isn't a bad gun either. It shoots quickly and, to me, it looks a bit cooler than than the scar. The scar is so fat and round in this game. :P Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Still constantly swaping between AN-94/M416/M16 though, depending on the situation and stuff. I really think the M16 is the best close quarters weapon to use for the Assault class. Just because it is so accurate, you don't need to scope in, and its RoF is fast enough to outgun most other weapons but some LMGs. The AN-94 is best at long and medium because it retains its damage far more than any other weapon at longer distances and headshots are still a 2 or 3 shot kill with it at medium distances. That and it is hard to not miss shots with the burst cap on it. I hate the M416 and think it is far too inferior and doesn't have any real application that the AN or M16 can't come out on top at. My ranking would be (in order of worst to best): AEK-71 < STG.77 AUG < F2000 Assault < M146 <XM8 < M12/AN-94. The first three in this list though are REALLY bad in comparison to other top tier weapons in the Assault class and in other classes, in my opinion. Unless you're like <5m's with the F2000, it is just inferior. And at that range the AN could be a two shot kill. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Marco Posted March 31, 2010 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Best way to legitimately get Et Tu Brute (for me anyway) was to try and join a friend playing Squad Deathmatch. Because there's a 4 man limit on each squad, chances are high that if you join you'll be in a different squad to your friend. Then all you need to do is get familiar with your friend's squadmate names, track down that squad and knife your friend. Five times. If you have some real trouble getting it then I'd happily bite the bullet and let you take my precious dogtags. Gamertag is Cursa, but try and get it legitimately first - shouldn't be too hard now.
