Finally got to 200 skill level on the leaderboards :D still only 248,358 out of all ranked players :/

 

It's horrifying, an old friend from CSS (MysticDuck) is in the top 100 of PC players.

Got on for a bit today. Had a lot of fun with one squad I joined in SDM. 2 medics, recon, and a engineer (I was a medic) When I came into the match, we was in third place 7 kills behind the lead. Once I got in and was started communating....we cleaned house winning by 8 kills :thumbup:

 

This is why I love BC2, in order to be really good, you got to be part of a squad.

This is really only applicable for the average/casual players. When playing at a high level having a decent squad helps, but in reality if you're capable of just killing enemy after enemy or defending the objective or you are unable to defend against these types of epic plays, then having a good squad is not going to count for much. A coordinated squad only comes from a group of somewhat skilled individuals minimum. If you're an average/casual player and you don't look at every technical and game play aspect, then yes a good squad will allow you to go and get a 2.0 k/dr in a game, but if you play against any extremely knowledgeable pubstar or competitive players having a really good squad is not going to amount to anything.

 

Even if you scale everyone in the squads to that of competitive players, all of the strategies and tactics still come down to individual skill. In games you can get hit 3 or 4 times or be within a grenade's actual killing distance. Because you are in a game it is far easier for one person to just out-perform everyone else who has the advantages over him except individual skill. Thus, squads are an important tool to have but even in BC2 they are not the most important or significant factors for doing well in regular games or scrims. In this game, just like many others, it comes right down to raw individual skill.

 

America's Army is the only game I've ever played where having a good team will make you do well but also it is a requirement and drains the fun or entertainment value out of it. Even then it still is kind of sketchy to really pin down the main focus of AA.

I agree kinda half and half with both of you.

Having a decent squad, where everyone does what they're meant to (medics healing/reviving, assault making sure everyone is topped up with ammo, recon scouting and lighting up targets and engineers taking out vehicles) makes a hell of a difference to playing by yourself or with a crap random squad. Players skill level comes into it when fighting, as a single really good player can cause chaos and take out squads by theirself. Playing as part of a squad makes it a little more forgiving for players who maybe aren't as skilled at killing the enemy, but can contribute by healing/topping up ammunition etc.

 

Also, what happens when you revive someone, does their initial death still remove a ticket even though they are revived again? I said it does but a friend i was playing with tonight said if someone is revived their death doesn't count (remove a ticket).

Had an amazing engineer game today. Shot down 3 helicopters with my RPG. It was all on Valpraiso, rush. One of them I was at the top of a hill overlooking their base, and saw their heli start up. I aimed a few yards above and fired. Right as the rocket was above them, they lifted off and hit it. It was all the way across the map :thumbsup:

Had an amazing engineer game today. Shot down 3 helicopters with my RPG. It was all on Valpraiso, rush. One of them I was at the top of a hill overlooking their base, and saw their heli start up. I did something similar today, but it was on Isla Innocentes. When a Black-hawk mows me down, expect a talk with my good ol' friend Carl Gustav.

Wow...I have no idea what came over me today but I was destroying people in rush today. 4 games of rush. Two on Nelson bay, the other 2 in Laguna Presa. My first games on neslon bad were amazing... when we defended I used the assault class with XM8. Just destroyed people. Went 22-8 but still lost the game. The nest 3 games I was a medic with the M249 (has to be one of my favorite guns now.) Every game I got the Ace pin and golden squad pin. On all my games combined I went 63-24. Medic is amazing now :thumbup:

Yesterday after work I decided to have a game of BC2. I spawned and instantly got killed and thought to myself 'hmm, fair play, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time'. I spawn again 6 seconds later, spawn-killed again. This happened about 13 times, and on the last spawn, the game ended. I did a mixture of spawning on team mates and spawning randomly, yet I got killed instantly everytime. Ruined my k/d ratio.

I've been using the MG36 a fair bit recently after unlocking it. Not having to use red dot on it is nice (it has it's own which is a really nice scope) and having that lightweight instead is useful. Gun is really good too though I need to test it a bit more.

Unlocked the M60 last night...and man...that gun is AMAZING. Still not as cool as the M249, but damn it is good.

M60 is the most overpowered gun in the game currently. I stay away from it because it's banned from comp.

This was on Squad Deathmatch, and I guess the enemy team didn't want to get out of the tank to kill me on foot for fear I'd jack their tank. So +230 later, 2 kills, and a destroyed tank later, the other team proceeded to swear at me.

Yeah. I've done it once. Its funny as hell to do if the person dose not what to do.

 

And on the M60, it is overpowered. I only use it when I'm getting my [wagon] handed to me, or on bigger maps were I need a little bit more range.

Yeah, I often use it when I run out of ammo for my launcher or mines. Earlier today I fired my last shot at a tank, leaving it half destroyed, and ran up to it and followed it with my repair tool. No idea why they didn't get out.

 

AT mines are also full of win. In rush on defence I just stick all my mines on the road leading into the base. Sometimes I sit by the road (Especially on the maps where there is lots of foliage for snipers to hide) and watch the vehicles blow up and kill the odd sniper, and other times I just leave them there.

 

It's a great feeling to randomly have 200+ score appear on your screen from a double kill.

The gun I have the most kill as of now is the is the PP2000 then the SCAR-H then the M249. I love the PP2000

I just unlocked the PP2000, it's amazing. I haven't racked up a lot of kills yet though. I think mine goes M249>M60>GOL sniper or something

I am so PISSED right now. Not only is my XBox acting up a little bit... but for some [bleep]ing reason my 360 will not read BC2. It tells me that the disc is dirty. So I clean it (Its not dirty at all but I clean it anyway) Still wont work. So I put in MW2 (this disc is twice the scratches and finger prints on it)...read perfectly... <_<

Valparaiso is probably my favorite map to do this, the first site is always so fun. The middle road at Arica Harbor during the second set of bombs is also great, humvees front-flipping down the street. Also, almost got the mine insignia and gold star x2 for it too.
