The M60 pisses me off, it's bullets hit for 1.5x that of the average of most other guns. And it's brutally accurate.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Here's hoping that some of these changes make their way into an Xbox360 patch. I know a couple of my colour blind friends will be extremely happy about that list. :P

 

 

 

 

On another note, after reading through other entries in the Battlefield Blog, I came across this article: Where are my G3 and MK14 Optics?

 

I find myself completely agreeing with DICE's point that giving those guns the 4x scope would result in people sniping with them. I can not, however, understand why they allowed the 4x scope to be used with every other gun outside of the 'all kits' option. While a red dot sight seems fine, letting people put a 4x scope on an SMG/LMG (and in some cases an Assualt rifle) just results in killing people from crazy distances. SMGs are meant for close range, and LMGs surely have too much recoil to ever make such a zoomed sight useful..?

 

I don't see anyone even being able to use an SMG from a long range with a 4x.

 

Either way I've never been a fan of the 4x as I can generally see and aim just fine with red dot.

 

I use SMGs at long range with iron sights surprisingly often. I've lost track of the number of snipers I've killed with them.

AT4's devastate tanks. Otherwise, lay Anti-Tank mines all over the major roads. Make sure to have the explosive damage upgrade and explosive carring capacity upgrades for maxiumu effectiveness.

I find two mines, with the explosive damage upgrade, placed close to each other is enough to take out the Bradley and BMD tanks. I'm not quite sure if that would be enough to take out the main battle tanks.

Indeed. I had a awesome kill with the PP2000 once.

I think so patches that should be added is... manily lesson the damage on the M60, lesson the damage of 40MM. Thats all that I can think of off the top of my head.

[bleep].

 

10 mins before the match starts one of our players goes afk for no reason at all. Had to try and ring a person and fake their name as "showboat." instead of "showboat". So we didn't have our player and we had someone with all lvl 1 stuff.

 

 

Not to mention the enemy team whored the [cabbage] out of medics, they all played them. Bah I'm looking for a new team.

I HATE when this happens. NOw I cant get too mad...cause all I do is play medic or engineer, but I hate when I play SDM and It's nothing but recons. You never win AND you get called a noob for not being a recon <_<

The Kit upgrade DLC (Dr Pepper promotion) is due to be released tomorrow for the Xbox360, just three weeks later than originally intended.

 

On Wednesday 21st April Xbox 360 players can change how their soldiers look on the Battlefield with the Kit Upgrade DLC.

 

 

Want some details on what the DLC includes? Of course you do:

 

There are 4 kits, one for each class, specific unique uniforms and camouflaged weapons gives you a visual edge. I mean what good is a camouflaged soldier if the gun sticks out like a sore thumb?

 

Recruited strictly from other high-level Special Operations units such as Delta Force and Spetsnaz, the Special Activities groups – SPECACT - are the elite of the elite, used mainly for covert operations and other high-risk missions in areas where conventional troops cannot be used.

 

With the 4 kit specific unique uniforms and the camouflaged SPECACT personal M16A2, UMP-45, MG3 and M95 SNIPER you have a visual edge on the Battlefield, showing that you're a force to be reckoned with. The pack also includes 12 new awards and 4 Achievements.

 

In North America the kit upgrades are only available on Xbox 360 using the Dr Pepper codes printed on special promotional cans.

 

 

In Europe and the UK you can get hold of the kit upgrades for:

 

Xbox Live Marketplace

160 MS points per kit upgrade

440 MS points for bundle pack (all kits)

 

The kit upgrades will also be coming to PS3 and PC a little later on, we'll post the exact release dates here as soon as we can.

It's really too bad that Dr. Pepper is so terrible tasting.

 

Almost have Recon maxed out (about 7000 points until M95) and then I will have all of the kits maxed (+ Vehicles). Still looking around for a team although I need to see if future tourneys are going to be 8v8 conquest or stick with 4v4 rush.

As requested by the community, here is the exhaustive all inclusive changelist of all balance updates made in the R10 Server update for PC.

 

Increased the base range of all Automatic and Semiautomatic weapons for more consistent close range combat.

Slightly increased the damage of Semiautomatic rifles over long range for more consistent damage output.

 

Increased the zoomed burst accuracy of LMGs and decreased LMG accuracy when moving to reduce LMG run and gun.

Decreased the base damage of the M60 and XM8 LMGs to bring them in line with the other LMG damage values.

Decreased the damage of the PKM over long range to balance it with other LMGs.

Increased the base damage of the Type88 LMG to balance it with other LMGs.

 

Slightly reduced the base damage of the M16 and G3 to balance the increased range.

Slightly increased the damage of the AEK971, F2000, AN94, and AUG over long range to balance them with other Assault Rifles.

 

Reduced the lethal blast range of the 40mm grenade and M2CG to highlight their role as a secondary weapon against infantry.

Slightly Reduced the max range of the 40mm shotgun to balance it with other shotguns.

Slightly increased the base damage of shotgun rounds and reduced their range to clarify ideal shotgun combat distance.

 

Reduced the base damage of the PP2000 to balance the increased range.

Increased the damage of the 9A91 over long range to balance its lower magazine size.

 

Increased the damage and range of the M9, M93 pistols to make them more desirable as a secondary weapon.

Increased the range of the MP443 pistol to make it more desirable as a secondary weapon.

Increased the damage of the MP412 over long range to balance its low rate of fire.

Slightly reduced the rate of fire of the M1911 pistol to balance it with other pistols.

 

Increased the repair and overheat speeds of the Power Tool. Now overheats sooner but repairs the same amount before overheating.

Increased the maximum number of Motion Sensors that can be carried from 2 to 3 and increased the speed which new sensors are acquired from ammo boxes.

Significantly increased the speed of the Tracer Dart projectile to make it more effective against airborne targets.

Increased the reload time of the Mortar Strike and reduced the damage it does to heavily armored vehicles.

Decreased the range of Bolt Action Sniper and Pump Shotgun Slug rounds when using Magnum Ammo for better Kit Balance, especially in Hardcore.

Slightly increased the Health of soldiers in Hardcore for better Kit Balance.

 

Increased the benefit from the Medkit Heal+ specialization to make it more desirable as a Specialization.

Decreased the benefit from Vehicle Reload Speed to balance it against other Vehicle Specializations.

Slightly decreased the benefit from accuracy specializations to balance the changes to range and accuracy tweaks.

 

 

Fixed a bug where the BMD3 would take extra damage to the front armor.

Reduced the explosive damage from Attack Helicopter cannons.

Increased the damage of AA guns against all targets. The AA gun should be much more effective against infantry on Port Valdez.

 

These changes will eventually make their way to the 360 and PS3 as we work with our partners Microsoft and Sony to continue to support BFBC2 on all platforms.

* MP Added 15 second spawn timer for Conquest/Rush gamemodes at the start of round to prevent high end machines getting the upper hand before other machines load in.

* MP Crash fixes relating to ALT+TAB at different times throughout the game

* MP Hang fix when trying to connect to a full server multiple times

* MP Deletion of soldiers now possible through the account pages in game

* MP Removed screen flash during loading

* MP Added support for colour blind players

* MP Fixed crashes relating to faulty server banners

* MP Servers closing during connection no longer cause the client to hang

* MP Fixed scoreboards when switching teams before spawning

* MP Rush scoreboards fixed

* MP Added minimum number of players needed to start a round (you can play and take objectives but you will get no score until 4 or more players join the server)

* MP Medic gadgets now display correctly if the defib is not unlocked

* MP Server filter options are remembered

* MP Punkbuster filter now works as intended

* MP Scroll bar no longer overlays the Join Server button in the friends list panel

* MP CANCEL server refresh is implemented

* MP Zooming in on a friendly using the SAIGA no longer causes the crosshair to disappear

* MP The chat no longer displays the incorrect player name when appearing

* MP FoV switches to the default value of 55 when entering vehicles to prevent graphical glitches caused by wider FoV settings. The custom FoV returns when exiting vehicles.

* MP FoV no longer causes the UAV station to rotate

* MP Fix to correctly display the unlock progression at the end of round

* MP Chat functionality will no longer freeze after writing a partial message at the end of round

* MP One account can no longer connect to the same server multiple times

* SP Fixed crashes when patching and trying to resume a campaign (there is now a message that you need to re-play the latest mission from the beginning)

* SP Fixed a crash after the Upriver mission end cinematic

* SP Supply create at Resupply at Flynns create objective now supplies weapon ammo

* SP Hang fix when reaching the objective Destroy Enemy Zu23

* SP Fixed hang after Storm Cockpit objective

* SP Changed melee attack raycast to be detailed

* SP Game no longer crashes when transitioning between SP_03B to SP_04A when installed in Polish

* SP Game no longer crashes when killed by the first two enemies in the trenches on SP_01 when installed in Italian

* SP Updating to R7 will invalidate your single player save game. If you update you will need to play your last mission from the start. If you do not update you will not be able to play multiplayer.

The T88 might now be a worthwhile weapon to use. As it had the RoF, but the damage was just really, really bad. It might become the new M60, if the PKM has been brought down enough. Though while playing today the M60 was a 4 shot kill at medium distances in Hardcore. So who knows.

 

The Assault Class changes, I love them all. The AN-94 won't be limited to just CQC now. It still shines in CQC but now it shouldn't get wrecked at longer ranges against LMGs as it was.

 

I hope in the next patch they change the way Medic's can revive people. The ability to revive endlessly and in such a short amount of time really brings game play to its knees. Competitive leagues should be limiting it down to 1 medic per squad, or even 1 medic for every eight players.

 

Still liked this patch though, if the changes are as how they've been feeling and how they have been stated.

I'll be giving the T88 another shot personally. If I don't like it then I'll just stick with M249 due to the XM8 nerf. If M60 is actually "balanced" as well now I may end up using it if I find it is usable in leagues.

They need to do this. I would say 2 medics maximum although 1 would probably be better. Like I said I went up against a 4 medic team in the GR comp and it was just stupid to play against.

What was wrong with the xm8 lmg? Also, I wonder how fast the tracer dart will fly now. Do you guys thinks if it travels at bullet speed it'd be too good?

 

XM8 LMG was second to M60 for being one of the best LMG's. To be honest it was a bit too powerful.

I found the MG36 to be the best, but i reckon thats just personal preference more than anything.

 

Can't wait for these changes to hit 360.

In my opinion I have to rate the LMG's in this order.

1.M60. Very powerful and used in short bust can kill at long rang very easily.

2.M249. My favorite LMG. Granted not the best and long range but it packs a punch close range.

3. MG36. This gun might replace the M249. I always use a RDS on guns, so with the built in RDS I can replace that with a light weight pack or improved medic healing.

4. XM8 LMG. This gun is basicly tied with the MG36.

5 PKM. The PKM is actually really good. I have yet to used it a whole lot, but when I did use it was really easy to use.

 

I never really used the Type 88. so I cant rate it and I have not unlocked the MG3 yet. I really hope the MG3 is a good gun...or at least I can make it good.
