Trying the mg36 sights for the first time threw me off to be honest. I hope I can get use to it. Also, I unlocked the vss too, should give that a shot soon.

VSS with a red dot sight is amazing in my opinion. I have yet to use it in hardcore. I'm sure it would get the job done.

I'm really loving this game right now, a real change of pace from MW2. Does anybody know if/when these sigs update? Or if there are any that update automatically?

They can update every 6 hours.

I never see anybody using the semi auto snipers, is that because they're crap or because people just like bolt actions?

I'm not sure about the others, but the first semi-auto one takes 2+ shots, even in hardcore. So yes, they're crap lol.

Kinda. I put a red dot on one of them (can't remember which one) but found that i ran out of ammo too damn quickly. It'd work if you had a squad that keeps everyone topped up, which i didn't.

Yeah, the SVU is pretty nice. I don't like the Type 88 much, I'm just using it until I bronze star it. The VSS sucks imo.

Im not a huge fav of the SVU but I like the VSS. Oh well lol.

 

Just got my second gold star with my MG3. Ah how I love that gun :thumbup:

I did notice a lot of people use the SAIGA. I'm just not a huge fan of shotguns on this game <_<

I've not tried using the shotguns online, but I like the singleplayer ones.

Recently got back into using recon after unlocking all the guns, and its so fun. :thumbsup:

 

Oh heres a tweak that PC players can use to sort out your field of view:

Just enter your in game resolution and it works it out for you. Then go to Documents\BFBC2 and open up the "settings" file, and on the bottom line where it says "FOV=55", change it to whatever the calculator says.

 

Basically it calculates the right FOV to choose to match your resolution then makes it so you can see more to the sides.

 

And for any one worried that this could result in a ban, its allowed. :thumbup:

So I was able to get a hold of the M1... And I must say it is very impressive. First match with it I got 10 kills with it. So this will be my new weaon for the assault kit.

Tip for anyone who wants a change from the usual automatic rifles;

 

Shotguns are deadly with the right setups; Long-range specified ammo and magnum ammo makes a deadly combo, and you'll still have benefits of the different classes. Note that these shots hit very accurately, so you need to aim very carefully, but with that said, it's almost one-shot kills every time.

 

My best one so far is probably a ~150 meter head shot with the 870 Combat.

Played for the first time in a while today. Got my [wagon] kicked up and down the map haha.

Trying to finish unlocking the MG3 for medic class then start on Engineer then i'll have everything unlocked.

 

Another thing i noticed, i dunno if it's because i haven't played in a while but with the MG36, there seemed to be a split second moment where the screen completely blacks out when aiming down the standard scope, it seems like it takes longer. Was this part of the update?

Ill check that out in a bit. the MG36 s now my second favorite LMG (behind the MG3)

And when was this update if I may ask?

You was right Mc. I did notice that the when you do put the scope for the MG36, the black is there a little bit longer...oh well. Not to noticeable in my opinion.

Yeah, it doesn't make all that much of a difference. Still a kick-[wagon] gun.

I'm still not sure which LMG im gonna use to get the MG3, i'm thinking of sticking with the MG36 as i can put the med-kit bonuses on instead of a red dot sight although i was kicking [wagon] earlier with the XM8 with red dot and magnum ammo. The choices...!!!

I've unlocked up to the AK-74, pretty much played similar to how i would with assault but obviously focused on vehicles when we came across them. Usually take anti-tank mines on the first spawn and dot them around, play until i get killed then switch to RPG until the mines are triggered.

First off with the medic class.

The beauty with the last 3 guns ( XM8, MG36 and the MG3) is that they dont need a red dot. Leaving room for extra grenads on a light weight pack. The XM8's iron sights are some of the best in the game, MG36 has its own RDS and the MG3's are not the best, but I make it work. Just find what works best for you and stick with it. As for me... close range combat if the MG3. I am kinda biased though...I LOVE that gun. However, the MG36 is better suited for long range.

 

As for engineer, I would suggest either the SCAR-L or the XM8C. SCAR-L is very deadly at medium range, and close range it gets the job done nicely. The Ak-74 is ok, but I think it has a little bit to much recoil for me liking.
