This is how war is supposed to be. No overpowered killstreaks, no sniper shotguns, realistic physics, and most importantly, TANKS AND CHOPPERS FOR EVERYONE!!!

 

Battlefield has done it again. What a great game.

 

By the way, who wants to buy my MW2 disk? because im sure as hell not playing that crap again! (lol jk my bro still wants it)

 

You think shotguns aren't by their nature long ranged? Shotguns in videogames generally have cut off points where the shells just stop doing damage, generally very much before their real life counterparts would stop being effective, as a point of game balance. With the right specialisations shotguns can have proper range in this game too.

Also have a few questions

 

1. It seems to me you're kind of screwed when you start out, seen as everybody else has already unlocked a ton of powerful of stuff. You can say a lot of [cabbage] about CoD, but the best guns and stuff are unlocked in the first few levels really and you're not at much of a disadvantage at all.

 

2. Any equivalent of gun camos from CoD, or challenges? Again you can say a lot of [cabbage] about CoD but theres an undeniably enormous amount of stuff to unlock in MW2.

 

3. Looks to me that the gameplay is quite a lot slower than MW2, which I suppose is a mixed blessing.

1. The starting guns aren't the greatest but you aren't at that much of a disadvantage to others, you get better guns reasonably quick as well.

 

2. Pins and insignias, along with gun skill levels .

 

3. The game is slower and faster than MW2 in parts, lone wolfing it won't do much help either.

Going to correct you a little bit based off of the most recent patch.

 

 

 

What this means, currently, is that the SV98 and the GOL are the only rifles worth using when you look at it. The SV98 is now the exact same as M24 but with a larger clip and a faster reload speed and the GOL, while a bit slower and smaller clip than the SV98, has arguably the better sights and for some reason does not take into account "breath" currently. (Scope sway).

 

 

I do hope they end up readjusting them a bit more because it was a bit of an oversight. Still sniping is pretty damn good in this game.

Recon by using motion mines to scout ahead, Assault as a picker in the back using a 4x (With AN94 or something) and giving ammo, engineer repairing vehicles and blowing up around objectives to gain sight for the rest of the team and medic is obvious.

That's for the PC, and since I have a PS3 (which obviously hasn't received the patch yet) I was speaking through experience with the guns. But I'm glad that you pointed this out, as I assume that the PS3 will be getting the update soon.

Is the M95 really that weak now? I need to go in-game and see if I'm still getting one-shot kills with it at medium distances. I might be upset if it is weak like this, as the reason why it is so heavy, small clip and long reload times, is because of its high damage output. I still prefer the GOL over the others though, it isn't too difficult to quickscope headshots from medium distances and in CQC no-scoping for a one shot kill is almost guaranteed.

Vale, another thing to note is that you can level up the current role you spawn as by picking up and using any kit that's lying on the floor. So that may speed things up considerably depending on what kind of things are in the kit. Also, the sv98 has the fastest bolt cycle (is it still the fastest after the patch?), but has the ^ scope, so those factors may or may not draw you to that gun.

 

As for customization, you're right about mw2 having more customization. Using guns will only give you experience in this game. Gun attachments like red dot and acog/4x scope are unlocked through leveling up a specific class. You do get to choose and customize your set-up each time you spawn to deal with the current situation, so I guess that makes up what seems to be a small amount customization.

I guess I fall into that class :P I care a lot about my K/D ratio, but, I do try and contribute as much as possible (i.e. Stopping enemies before they have a chance to kill my team-mates).

 

Actually, that reminds me of the time when my entire team decided to continually fire tracer darts into me. Apparently I was 'useless' and they 'didn't need me'. Obviously the 10 kills and 0 deaths didn't help at all, especially when my team wasn't actually doing anything :thumbup:

True, when I go to play recon I try to be in the top 5 of the scoreboard but so often I see snipers with less than 500 points a good way through a round, just what is the point?

A lot of people don't realize that the Recon class is extremely useful and valuable in certain situations, but is completely useless in other situations (unless they're decent). So many people just want to play their own class, playing to their own classes strenghts and not considering the Recon, or how they could use them or incorporate them. They expect the Recon's to cover them when they rush into a group of enemies, or expect the Recon's to play a style that isn't theirs.

 

If you push an objective, make sure you camp/roam somewhere where a scope can actually support you and not hide behind a wall that blocks the Recon's view. Too many people play to their own accord and don't take into consideration other classes play styles.

 

A Medic may get 2k or 3k points in a game, but a Recon will get 500 points that meant so much more to the outcome of the game. 500 points from spotting dozens of opponents, locking down objectives from long range, telling the team where the enemy is moving to on a large scale, mortar spamming objectives & vehicles, C4'ing roads/objectives/vehicles and just being the most annoying thing the enemy has to deal with. If you have a scope and get a M-COM station bomb planted, the defending team should not be able to disarm it. If your flag is being captured and you have a Recon, the opposition is going to lose tickets fast.

 

 

The amount of points you get in a round means absolutely nothing to what team will win the game. Your entire team may all have 2k points, and the other team only has say 600 points on average, and they still could be the winners. Points are not that important.

 

L2P with each other's strengths and weaknesses in order to incorporate and compliment your team mates during the match.

FINALLY GOT MY 360 IN TODAY!!!

As soon as I got home I played some BC2 of course. Had a amazing game of rush at Arica Harbor. I started out using the MG36. Got 3 kills with that then went to the engineer class with UMP45. After getting about 12 kills with that and CG ( :thumbup: ) I went back to the medic and the MG3. And this gun was amazing at close range. Got 2 double kills with it, and ended the game at 32-22. Granted I had a lot of deaths but it was a good run with the MG3.

So with this in my I think I can rate the LMG now

1.MG36-By far the best gun for the medic. I find it very effective for conquest due to medium damage, high fire rate, and faster reload time.

2.M60-I still use this gun when I need to. Long range its a beast, and close range it's very deadly.

3.M249-Love this gun still, have not used it in a while, but it's a nice balance between fire power and rounds per minuet.

4.MG3- I LOVE this gun, but sadly I can not put it first. It has a defined role on the battle field. Close range combat, and in my opinion is better suited for rush only.

5. XM8 LMG- I do like this gun, however I prefer the MG36 to it. It has slightly less damage then the MG36, but none the less a very good gun.

 

Just my opinion.

Had my best match so far. 18 kills and no deaths. As anyone who has read my posts, I was in the Recon class. It was on Laguna Presa, in a spot which makes shooting from long distance hard (as there is only a small portion of me showing, and up close the M95 is a one hit kill from the chest up. Got a nemesis badge, two combat excellence badges, and the best player badge, with around 95% accuracy. So yeah, not bad.

Lol the first time I got in a helicopter I suicided along with the three other guys with me. I just went backwards until leaving the map. Next time I got in one though I realised they control how they do in GTA4 and I did ok, though I don't like being the driver as you can't use the miniguns. We had a good thing going where I was in the passenger seat as an engineer repairing it, then the guy driving decided to parachute out and made it crash into a cliff. Level 14 can't come fast enough, I keep getting killed with guys with Magnum Ammo and stuff whereas I have no specialisations apart from a couple of vehicle ones. Also need that tracer gun because some guy in a Hind was messing up our team and I couldn't do anything about it, though I did manage to RPG a UAV which I was proud of.

 

Whats up with that? Some guys have ones with guns and rockets on lol whilst mine had nothing, so I just used it to spot. Guess thats a specialisation right? Kind of pissed that I'm getting screwed over so much for being new. I was thinking that playing the Hardcore mode might lessen these disadvantages, seen as with low health mag ammo or body armour is gonna count for less.

Yeah, theres an Alt Vehicle Weapon specilization. Gives the driver another weapon, machine gun on an MBT, guided rocket on a Bradley/APC and i'm not entirely sure what it gives attack helicopters, another guided missile i think. And also a machine gun for the UAV. It's the vehicle specilization i use as i like getting in amongst it with the UAV machine gun.

 

The helicopters are great to fly. I done the exact same thing the first time i tried flying them. Also had some pilots bail on us the second we start taking fire.

Everyone has a guided missile on the UAV. Hit R1 (is it RT on 360?) and hold the crosshairs over the target.
