FTP3 is getting yet ANOTHER graphical revamp AGAIN, according to that belated FAQ for 15 March. <_< Jagex should really start advocating two quests per week once the major issues like updating old skills are over. They're probably the only thing that provide a storyline and setting for this game. WE NEED MOAR LORE!

It's seems like ages since a quest or major update was out. Hope next week: a good quest  I bet FTP3 will be released along with the revamp, and btw were you thinking that?

Well, as long as it's released before my next membership (in May), I'll be happy. I think that the strykewyrm update was pretty big, so let's not forget decent updates of 2010 that soon, shall we?

Having the tackle box as the only reward seems weird, I would have thought that there'll be some form of cosmetic items, angler outfits, for example. The box is rather nifty though, just wondering how it would work when you're fishing. Do you have to remove the bait from the box as well when fishing? If so you have one less inventory space, and I don't think that would be useful.

Any tips for getting the right weight? I get to 66% and then the weights never seem to make a difference.

I do think it's enjoyable, but the 90 min wait with almost no method of telling when it starts unless you've already been that day just seems like poor design to me.

Quick question: is this worth playing and what are the rewards?

1) u can only have 5 weights on at a time u have to clear ur line to remove em and try new combo

2)Look at the "range" thing after u cast, adding a weight doesnt always changes it

I find best way is:

Figure out bait

Figure out hoook

While ur in rnage 1 (use 1 small weight)

Then work ur way up thru ranges til u get 100%

rembering there rnage 1 - 7

Just tried out the distraction. It would be pretty awesome if it was a minigame but that whole hour and a half wait between games is irritating.

I am pretty sure that the correct bait weight and hook is random considering it tells you what you needed after each game.

Ah, thanks. I should have looked up the Manual for it so I would have found out about the ranges :wall: .

@Evil eye: Don't bother unless you are interested in bank space saving rewards, or enjoy the actual game.

The tackle box seems utterly useless. Very minimal space saving and it seems (for early reports) u cant use items tht r in it so u have hassle to take em out.

Plus medals seem to be a bit hard to get, most ppl seem to get 1 a game max atm (only 4 u can get) and u need 20 to get the plain tackle box, plus u then have to buy ur way thru all 5 to the gd one.

The fish reward seems a bit naff not a huge amount of fish per point. But the xp is bloody good. 9k xp when i only did 1 species? thank u very much! lol

So not worth going out of ur way to do; but if ur fishing to 99 and in the guild or cathurby deffo worth the time it takes when it pops up for an xp boost.

Quests just keep bringing me back to this game.

Reading through the patch notes reminds me of how much I like Jagex's sense of humor.

Also,

* Updated the Kalphite Lair entrance and, as a bonus, your ropes will no longer disappear.

I am intrigued.

What, six whole weeks?

FTP3 is delayed, I read somewhere.

Sarcasm? If so, 7x6 = 42 days. Runescape is a weekly updated game, and i would say that 42 days should be enough to AT least release a decent quest, whether that would be a short quest with good storyline, or a big one, or one with a good reward.

Though i did say that the D&D might not be necessary, i have to say: THAT LOOKS GREAT!

A question: is it in someway similiar to Legend of Zelda game? Where you fish a size fish and you get rewarded?

There was a quest last week. :P

The fact that the medals are difficult to get coupled with only being able to play this game a limited number of times a week irritates me. I really wish that this was an activity.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Really? The 2 minute quest? Amazing! That Quest was just not worth doing even. Not even worth being called a quest even from my view.

Runescape is a weekly updated game

No, it isn't. And even if it were, that would not be a guarantee that you personally will like every week's update.

I just tried this D&D and even though I did poorly at it -- didn't know what I was doing -- I thought it was very cool. Much more interesting and a better addition to the game than yet-another-fish-caught-standing-around-like-a-robot.

I agree. Building on what I said about wishing that this was an activity, I think it would be even cooler if this was how we actually fished all the time.

Gonna stop posting so much now.

It's not? I got that impression, and honestly i was wondering whether to ask a question mark to that or not. Anyhow the D & D looks good, but there should be a quest as well.

Any new pictures of the Fishing Guild? Quite Intrigued on how it looks. I remember the Fishing Guild wasn't really that significant in terms of looks.

I really keep forgetting that Jagex HAVE to release big quests and high level content every week. <_<

Someone needs to remind them that catering to a majority of players is such a silly idea.

Yeah, why worry about the top 1% who've spent years playing this game? All of my level 90 friends deserve the bulk of the content!

I think that importance needs to be placed on high level content for the people that reach it, but that wanting these updates every week is just selfish. I think that high levels do need to have content but it gets on my nerves how people complain about it every week. Not everyone is high level you know, and just because someone doesn't have 99's it doesn't mean that they are worth less than you and deserve content less than you.

I don't want to get into the argument though, since I say it every week people's attitudes never change.

What gets on my nerves is how the majority of your posts are defending JaGeX. You seem to be almost the only one who thinks JaGeX is doing things properly, where as every single high level disagrees. I don't understand how you don't realize the plethora of low-leveled content that is impossible to do at the low levels specified, is unfair to high levels who's skills end at 80 or quests beatable at 100 combat. High levels deserve high level content every week and SHOULD have it every week. There's also nothing wrong with doing a multi-update giving something to both players, but that doesn't happen.

I do hope they add a timer similar to the Star Hunting and Evil Tree D&D's, this seems like a very nice new dynamic way to train fishing for a bit and escape from the old boring fishing methods. :P

I love the Infinity Robes, the colours are so bold its really nice, not to mention the snazzy Rune Guardians, is it possible to have more then 1? I will store 14 Rune Guardians in my POH wandering my house one of each colour, if it was the case. I would love that. :P

Loving the Fishing Guild revamp, really suits it but its very different and shows how much Runescape is changing. :P And OH! Did anyone else notice you can now hide your quest list? 'Showing 0 out of 167 (? :P) items' for the win, haha.

Nice updates today, I'm liking them. :)

I disagree. By having high level content well spaced apart allows for more time to develop and come out with worthy updates, rather than having half-baked updates, which attempted to be high level updates. Also, as a company, it is better to serve the majority, rather the minority, of which the High-levels would fall into. Most of the content that Jagex comes out with focuses on the mid-tiered character, with high level updates and low level updates sprinkled around. Yes, it is true that high level players have invested much more time into the game, and may seem unfair, but as a company, their strategy is justified.

Another thing is, things such as the D&D serves as content for all, with people with higher level skills benefiting more from them, allowing the maximum number of people to appreciate and enjoy the update. However, we cannot expect Jagex to live up to every person's expectation on every update, all we can do is simply enjoy it or not enjoy it and move on with our lives (Note, I do not have members at the moment, so I have not tried the new D&D).

Perhaps Jagex should move into updating Runescape like many other MMO's out there...once a month, so they can add multiple updates/content, so everyone can be pleased at once. But, I think that if they did that, more people would complain that they're not updating Runescape enough. In the end, not everyone can be satisfied, just go for the masses, and keep their business going.
