My Skittle Army, mwhahaha.

What intrigues me:

1) Why u randomly put the plain 1 in before u finished getting the coloured ones

2) Why u seem to of got Astral randomly mid-way thru collecting despite the fact u effectively get 12 of the 13 coloured ones in 1 palce (abyss) then astral is out of the way

Mod Maz posted in the Shattered Heart topic that whilst they were going to make small changes to the D&D (e.g. the Agility Rock and RC Change), nothing major will be done because she is now working on the Elite Diaries.

Can't be arsed to give you a QFC.

True but they still seem to be making minor tweaks as there's loads of tweaks to how u can get rocks she said are in testing tht are yet to arrive. Eg rocks from cocentrated ore. More hunter trap types, crafting methods, stall theiving etc.

So back on topic. Has anyone figured out the best bait, hook, weight yet?

It is different each game but rather easy to figure it out.

They are all mixed up, I was showing them to friends and I was calling them by putting them in my inventory and putting them back in, so its in no particular order. ;)

But yes I got all the abyss ones with Law last, then Astral if you are wondering.

Yup its easy to figure.

Stick on 1 small weight and standard hook.

Pick a bait.

Change bait til u get to 33% or higher.

Change hook til u get to 66% or higher.

Add/change weights (keeping eye to make sure u do add enuff to change ur rnage) til u hit 100%

Takes like 3-5 fish caught to get 100% if ur on the ball depending on how lucky ur initial guesses r

I did that (or roughly) cept (as u can tell by my pictures) I messed up my timing and thus banked armour to do laws b4 i realised I'd missed nats. (hence law, nats, astral have no armour)

Orly? I wasn't aware of those. If so they should be pretty minor. Just small additions.

I agree. Plenty of high level updates already. No need to complain. I'm not :)

I really keep forgetting that Jagex HAVE to release big quests and high level content every week. <_<

Someone needs to remind them that catering to a majority of players is such a silly idea.

Yeah, why worry about the top 1% who've spent years playing this game? All of my level 90 friends deserve the bulk of the content!

I think that high levels do need to have content but it gets on my nerves how people complain about it every week.

I don't want to get into the argument though, since I say it every week people's attitudes never change.

What gets on my nerves is how the majority of your posts are defending JaGeX. You seem to be almost the only one who thinks JaGeX is doing things properly, where as every single high level disagrees. I don't understand how you don't realize the plethora of low-leveled content that is impossible to do at the low levels specified, is unfair to high levels who's skills end at 80 or quests beatable at 100 combat. High levels deserve high level content every week and SHOULD have it every week. There's also nothing wrong with doing a multi-update giving something to both players, but that doesn't happen.

Lep, this is the first time I've ever agreed with you on something. Let's celebrate.

Racheya, I don't have any 99's. Please don't make assumptions about me.

What Lep is saying is that there's such a huge plethora of low and mid level content that a new player would be busy for well over a year (assuming an average player) before he/she even scraped the high levels . . . but then what? There's not a whole lot to look forward to. Because my levels make me a combat-oriented player, I'm mostly looking forward to high level armor and weapons (and with those, bigger and badder bosses). I'm stoked that Jagex has been finishing (or nearly finishing) a few skills in the past six months or so, but they spent so much time catering to the lower levels that the focus really SHOULD be on higher level players for another six months.

But, anyway, this will be my last post about high level content in this topic.

dgs5.jpg
To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

There have been lots of high level updates over the last 12 months.

Very high level players are a tiny percentage of Jagex's customer base. They already get a disproportionate share of updates. It is bad business to spend 50% of your time making content that is used by 1% of your customers.

Until you think that those who ARE lower level will EVENTUALLY be high level, if they keep playing. Low level has plenty of contend to finish still. I have all quests done, all diaries done except for finishing ardy elite, etc. We need more content because we've accomplished more, and we deserve more content for funding jagex for years.

And I agree with LEP and Morning. Racheya, you are so (seemingly) infatuated with jagex, that you always come to their defense. That isn't necessarily bad, but people do notice.

Tackle Boxes in my opinion are going to be a pain in the [wagon] to obtain. We need 20 medals and 110 tokens to get the Beginner's Tackle Box now the tokens they aren't a problem, but the medals are. I've played 4-5 games and only got 1 award and 174 tokens in total but no medals. These Tackle Boxes are meant to save us bank space right? Wrong, because we can only play 10 times a week and by the time we are able to get even the lowest of Tackle Boxes we will only save 1 bank slot and more updates will be put out with items taking up even more of our bank space.

When's the last update that actually impacted your bank space? The new Dragith-Ur helmet went straight into my costume room.

Nothing else has really been introduced that added much more of anything.

anywhoo are those medals really that hard to get? They all seem like accomplish X feat kind of things, and it's just a matter of getting good at the game for it.

I'd imagine things would get a lot easier after a guide comes out.

The fishing there looks so fun. I would love if they implemented that type of fishing somewhere out in the full world as a full on re-vamp of the skills (and doing the same type of thing to other stand and wait skills). It looks like it actually takes some skill.

Cause effect fail. Your levels are what you put into them, thus orienting on combat makes your combat levels.

Well, specific medals are mentioned. Just practice finding the perfect setup, and if you do manage to find it for all six, run back to the heaviest and hope you have enough time to get enough to put them at 80%

2-3 medals per game if you are focusing on them.

Ignoring the fact that 85 of my ingame minutes can turn into several million, I would at least hope that such time would be well spent. Unfortunately, it's not. Normally, I support Jagex on most updates. But after the swarm of frivolous updates, I am just slightly annoyed to see how Jagex is making my subscription less and less meaningful. My subscription is to Runescape, not a logic+guesswork codebreaker kind of minigame.

Anyway, don't expect to see me doing this. I would rather take a stroll outside.

Are times between games on a world by world basis? And if not has anyone made a timer for it? I'd like to make one but I'm having trouble being on at the times the mini game starts.

You are right about the possibility of lower level players becoming high level players, but the VAST majority IS in fact low level. It's just business to cater to those needs more than the needs of a very low percentage. They're trying to attract new players, and by releasing high level content all the time, it could intimidate lower level players. Now, I'm not saying that they shouldn't release high level content, which I think they should, I'm just saying if those who are complaining about it were business people, they'd do the same thing, whether they're willing to admit it or not.

I hope it is, because I'm seeing the same old topic again, just one week plus after the previous update by the same few people (Remember the 'broken record'?). Repetitive and off-topic. Could you guys at least participate in the update first, or answer players who actually have questions regarding the the update itself? <_<

There are more high-leveled players than ever, especially regarding combat.

Also, RS is the only MMORPG that caters the majority of its updates to lower levels. Every other gaming company understands that people grow out of "being a noob" very quickly, and wants to reward the people who stick with the game, rather than the fly-by-nighters who play an hour here or there and end up quitting after 3 months.

On a positive and unrelated note, I think the Fishing Guild makeover was well done. It makes me hopeful that the Mining Guild might actually improve someday.

@Blood Pact ranting:

Aww, you can't just enjoy the quest because low levels can do it too?

It was a crappy quest anyway. It had next to no story, no plot and hardly a cliffhanger. Why call it a quest if it's just a combat tutorial. And I bet I'm not the only one who expected more from the 300QP mark than a tutorial and an ugly helmet.

I'm all for high-level content (and low-level content, if it's at least fun.) Truth is, though, they need to revamp a few skills and give content to some areas of the game that've been neglected first. At least this update ended up being an interesting diversion. My horrible completionist urges say I"ll be getting that maxed out tackle box...
