This is a popular question and is always worth discussion.

 

For myself, I have blocked the following (I am 93 slayer and use Kuradel).

 

1. Black Demons

2. Fire Giants

3. Warped Tortoises

4. Black Dragons

5. Living Rock Creatures

 

What do you recommend permantely blocking? what to skip?

Please justify as well :)

To honestly answer your question, it's all personal preference.

I block skeletal wyverns cause I find them to be an annoying task. A few others to consider are stuff like Black Demons or other tasks that take a long time and don't give much profit (though BDs are fantastic xp)

Well, because I absolutely hated metals, I blocked both Iron and Steel dragons. Though sometimes I find tasks I don't feel like doing, so I'll cancel them. That's really it, though.

Block Kalphites. Common task, no drops, crowded, and they drain your money with cannonballs. Definitely Kuradal's worst task. Y'know, unless you like to kill the KQ or something.

 

Steel dragons are pretty weak too, especially if you don't have 90 agility for the shortcut or 85 dungeoneering for the anvil. Long, boring task with slow xp.

 

I also block hellhounds. Again, no drops, bad charms, although the xp is a bit better if you like xp. (Clue scrolls don't matter even if you do them, because everything drops clue scrolls.)

If you have extremes and turmoil, steels aren't too bad. And hellhounds are multicombat in a cannonable area now, so I would unblock those!

No, even with a cannon, they're only good for fast slayer xp while being a huge money drain, like Kalphites.

 

Steels aren't bad, per se. They're just worse than other tasks I could be doing instead. Most of Kuradal's worse tasks are like that.

Kalphites are a terrible xp task because of their bad spawns. I wouldn't do them even if they broke even.

 

Hellhounds on the otherhand can be great xp just with an iron titan.

Steel and iron dragon tasks take me like....30 minutes to do with a rapier, they're also decent money if you bank the bones with a yak + their other drops. Heck, ever since I got Super Anti-fire pots, Metal dragons have been some of my favorite tasks.

I like metals now, chaotic weapons rip through them with super antifires.

 

I also don't even mind kalphites. Just go to a full world, and then you can pretty much afk. Black demons are long, but really good slayer exp at about 38k slay exp/hour with steel titan.

 

I block waterfiends - slow, don't need charms.

Hellhounds (but might unblock now with new place)

Greaters (not enough hp, crowded, single combat)

Living rocks, kalphites, jungle strykewyrms, suqahs and wyverns, mostly frequent boring and slow tasks. I frequently cancel spiritual mages, tortoises, greaters, black demons(probably won't now due to the new spot), dust devils, tzhaar and terror dogs, mostly due to terrible spawn rate and points.

I tend to see slower tasks (steels, miths) as a sort of bonus. Without a fsh's +15% boost, I couldn't kill steels at a pace that wouldn't kill me, but I still like them, so a steel task is always fun.

Kalphites - most annoying tasks ever

With the new dungeoneering room thing for black demons you can get like 45k even, its awesome :thumbup:

 

I agree with those blocks, would block desert/jungle strykewyrms too since they have low hp are spread out and you have to call them before you can fight them.

Also warped tortoises suck since there's only 2 spawns so you always have to wait.

 

Tzhaar are nice if you dont suck at jad, suqahs/terror dogs/miths are all kinda fast tasks (under 15 mins) so I wouldnt bother skipping even if they arent the best xp, and dust devils really start to suck once youre maxed so you can skip those if you feel like it :P

I've got Kaphites, Warped Tortoises and Terrorbirds (The latter from the days of Duradel) and Bloodvelds blocked. All because they pissed me off one way or another. Block tasks you don't like. Simple as that.

How are they nice even if you can kill jad 100% of the time? It usually takes around 70 minutes and awards 38k xp, which is a terrible xp/h rate(around iron/steel dragons), coupled with the fact that you lose quite a bit of money and get very little combat xp, it's really the worst task to do(unless you need a fire cape, in which case it's doubtful you'll have 100% success rate).

Last time I did a Jad task it took about 35 minutes. Used like one extreme set, a dose of overload, a couple brews, and a dozen prayer potions.

How do you kill the 360s that fast? And anyway, it's still the worst task in terms of combat xp and drops, no chance of effigies and guaranteed loss, and if you happen to fail the task....

Steel and iron dragons - kept getting them from Duradel for what seemed like every other task and the only spot was under Brimhaven which always had people. Even with extra spots and better levels, I keep them blocked.

 

Warped tortoises - hated that dungeon during the quest. I used to have both torts and birds blocked, but Kuradal only assigns torts.

 

Skeletal wyverns - did alright until their attacks reached as far a crossbow distance :P

 

Kalphites - got tired of dealing with other players fighting for kills

 

Aquanites are sort of blocked because I'm not buying the ability to get them as a task. I stuck with Kuradal to get away from them (same with dags) until Jagex "fixed" that. Icy strikewyrms I don't have the slayer level to kill and won't be buying the ability to kill them when I do get it.

Yeah, that's what the points are for :) i actually cancel alot of other tasks frequently aswell, and sometimes only do abyssals/ice strykes, doing tasks that you don't feel like doing is what kills your experience rates.

I don't do: iron, steel, blue, black or mithril dragons, kalphites, aquanites, living rock people, black demons, jungle and desert strykewyrms, spiritual mages/rangers, suqahs, tzhaar, skeletal wyverns, sometimes greator demons, sometimes waterfiends if I don't want to find a saradomin sword.

 

For some reason, and I think it's because I haven't done a quest, I've never been assigned tasks such as ice strykewyrms, terror dogs, warped tortoises etc.

 

My reward points stay around the 1100 mark so I can afford to cancel.
