TheSpecialOne
Just wanted to see your views on skillers or combat trainers, which is best because let's be honest runescape combat is a bit crappy looking and can be insanely boring. So what are your views?
xSxqPowerx
Lol well it's clear what your views are...Personally, I love combat. Frankly, skills really aren't needed for anything other than raising total levels. With combat you can do almost anything - and all of the best money making methods use combat. The Observer
I prefer combat over any skill really. It's simple to train and doesn't really require much concentration, although fighting bosses that require concentration is still fun.
Den
I think both are equally usefull and I like both. :P Its easier to do some kinds of combat with skills and its easier to do some kinds of skills with combat. ........::::: Rainy's YouTube Channel - Rainy's Twitter - Rainy's Facebook - Rainy's DeviantArt - Rainy's Tumblr - Rainy's Tip.It Profile :::::......... A_Fiasco
I think that combat with slayer is really fun :-) but I tend to find, from my time at the Crandor Moss Giants some combat trainers are competitive or afk-ing so the conversation while grinding can get dull. With skills I find some are lonely affairs, *sniff sniff* doing red sallys, but cutting willows or ivy is always nice, people tend to be chatty, etc. So I guess I like skilling more, since we're all grinding together the atmosphere is better IMHO? TheSpecialOne
Well I do like combat it just gets boring and I find range the most fun but can't train it coz I want to join some clan wars clans but they all like 110+ cb and range doesn't lvl cb much :(Also how is combat good money? It's all luck it's not a guaranteed god income like skills do because drop rates change and like at Abby demons, 1 whip every 1.5k kills ain't that good in my books. It's all luck it's not a guaranteed god income like skills do because drop rates change and like at Abby demons, 1 whip every 1.5k kills ain't that good in my books. Combat = bosses. TDs, Bandos, DKs, Sara, Armadyl are the "best" money making methods in game atm. The whip drop rate is generally accepted as 1/450, It doesn't change, ever, this also doesn't mean you will get a whip every 450th kill, it means that every time you kill an Abbysal demon you have a .00222...% chance of getting a whip. Frost dragons are well over 2m gp/hour, and that is guaranteed. Barrows is also 1m gp/hour. I don't know of any skill that can make more than 1m/hour, and still be somewhat entertaining. Zaaps1
Combat in indisputably superior, and I think it's also much more fun, but I still like skills better. I'm not entirely sure why, but there's just something in most skills (not named Hunter) that just appeals to me. ~It's Super Effective! MstrMonopoly
Skilling can be fun, but I only like production skills (Smithing, Herblore, FMing). Gathering skills seem pointless to me at times. The only one I've ever enjoyed, really is fishing, which was my highest skill at one point. I piety the fool.
Quyneax
I prefer things that require attention, slaying with cannons, dungeoneering and stuff. Bank/running back and forth skills are boring. Mio
I prefer combat over skills, but it does get boring at certain levels... I'm at that kind of level with 81 attack 80 str and 80 def where all the boss monsters are taunting me, and I still can't kill them yet... So yeah it does get boring over time but skills there is a large variety of what to do, which can make them fun aswell. If merchanting was a skill, It'd be skills all the way. Huzzah
I find both can be fun depending on my mood. I love fishing and getting to 99 was one of the best memories i have of rs. Although now I've been stuck on a slayer kick.
Mr_Mad_Nick
i personally prefer skilling over killing,it may not be as profitable but its certainly more enjoyable to me,people talk alot more, theres more non combat skills to work on, +1 for skillers :D
TheAncient
The game is meant to be combat-focused... at the end of the day all skills are support skills for combat, in one way or another. Farming gives you herbs for Herblore gives you Boosted combat levels.Woodcutting gives you logs for Fletching bows and arrows.Construction gives you altars for which to train your prayer and so on... Dark_Yeng
Just wanted to see your views on skillers or combat trainers In my views CombatPeople get high level in combat, it's is to be strong and not get pick on by the strong, to be able to kill every NPC's monsters in the game. Very true! I remember when Summoning was released, one of the biggest complaints was that it was trained too similarly to a non-combat skill, such as Runecrafting, as opposed to a combat skill, such as Strength. To this day, I still believe that combat familiars should provide at least some summoning xp per damage they deal. ~It's Super Effective! Knight_Zaros
If combat is boring to you how is skilling fun? I mean how is right clicking and cutting all logs into bows then banking and withdrawing for hours... Days... weeks more fun than actually fighting something when it requires different strategies, tactics, etc... Especially higher level monsters. Pfft... Both have their uses but I ENJOY combat and do skills more or less because I have too/need to for quests requirements and other bonuses they give. A_Fiasco
As I stated before, I think the atmosphere is lighter when skilling.. by to go off on a slight tangent, to all those who claim combat or slayer is the best or superior skill, how do you feel about the common statements that the depth and variety of extra non-combat skills is what makes RS unique?
