And about that TIF server... is anyone going to actually make it?

First, we need to ask ourselves whether one of us is going to host it [and trust the others not to do odd stuff with the knowledge his/her IP], or are we going to pay for our server to be hosted externally [probably with more dedicated uptime]?

I don't like the servers with tons of stuff on them, I feel like it ruins the game if you have to walk for five minutes just to find fresh land. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to start our own server (and try to limit the people on it - don't go posting it all over the MC forums).

Well, I was about to suggest a server we could use until then, but uh...

...griefers.

Haha, yeah. It would help to have server op controls. :P

Mmhmm. And if our server gets too crowded and claustraphobia kicks in, the op can always reset the server.

I think, if when we start a server, we should each start building our civilizations at least 5 minutes walking distance away from the edge of another's civilization. If we don't want to use minecart/river/[future transportation] systems to go from city to city to visit friends (or enemies?), we can always use the /warp command.

And nice reskin there, Zilla. :P

Currently building a giant water curtain similar to the water trap door. Going to have it lead to a glass box to see how many mobs I will capture for it. Looks very nice from my spawn also. Perfect for keeping mobs out of the area I am mining around.

How do you make those thin poles baker?

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

It looks like he's using a custom Painterly Pack.

I'm really looking forward to being able to switch between textures more easily with the next update. Should be awesome.

So. From experience, I found that having 'F' toggle fog (inversly proportional to fps) was a bad thing, so I decided that F4 would make a good button, as it is right next to the F3 button which displays fps and all that. Well, in Alpha v1.2.2 F4 spawns portals. Anyway, now I accidentally place portals around when I try to change fog settings. And you know how long it takes to mine obsidian to get rid of the portal. :c

I guess Notch forgot to remove some dev debug shortcut from the code. :P

Edit: Reading through some community posts, this apparently doesn't work anymore. I haven't updated my minecraft client/files yet though. I guess that would be helpful.

They're just fences stacked up. Good for chandeliers and "support" for buildings.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue.

This line doesn't rhyme,

And neither does this one.

Second trip into the cave system, came up with 14 Diamonds, 11 Obsidian, and 3 more stacks (of 64) of Redstone. I left some Obsidian patches and oodles of Redstone down there, all in the same "cavern" area. I made a mine shaft to connect that cavern to the surface, for direct access, so I'm definitely gonna clean it up and search for more Diamonds. Three days into the game, two Diamond Picks, Shovel, and 14 Diamonds in my chests.

Ugh, fell into lava and lost my diamond pick, a ton of mossy cobblestone, torches, iron, gold and coal.

That's the third diamond pick I've died with >.>

Was making a lava river, and was an idiot and fell into it and died instantly with a ton of stuff in my inventory.

Ragequit that world and started a new one, lol.

I think certain worlds must be better for resources than others. My first world, which I've played for many, many hours, has less than ten diamonds and probably less than twenty iron, including the ones I've dropped or died with. The new world I started had multiple stacks of iron in the first cave I found.

Also, try this: Next time you see a woodland environment, start a lava river

I do think this is true.

Some worlds I start in a grassland of nothing, while others I'm surrounded by mountains of stone and coal.

Fences.

can you put a fence on top of another fence for a long vertical pole though?

And hold on, you can spawn a Nether portal now? O_o

Put like sand or something easy to destroy down, then put a fence on that, then smash the sand and place a fence under that. Easy.

How do I use the folder? Just chuck the .rar in there, or what?
