All people who put their age as under 13 are forced to use quick chat as a method of 'protecting them' and 'stopping them from telling others personal information'

So basically, anyone who didn't lie has to shut up for a few years. A few months ago, we could chose whether to use quick chat or free chat when renewing membership.

I told the truth about my age, I'm 12 years and 11 months old now. I don't like lying. However, they removed that option, so everyone who told the truth was unable to talk or see what other people say.

 

That's bad on it's own, being unable to interact with other players, but, what's worse, is that we're all accused of botting and reported falsely. We can't see you saying "Bot?" We don't see anything, or say anything at all, we can't interact and prove our humanity. We can't use the forums to complain about false reports, and the appeal systems are automated anyway. So if you think someone may be using a bot, please don't report someone because they don't talk, please don't report someone for making the rogue's den banker come closer to the fire, but report people for bot-like behavior, like running northwest randomly, or getting stuck on a closed door.

 

Don't reply to this saying "Learn to lie" Or "Lol little kiddies shouldn't play my game" I'm against lying, and bots and all sorts of cheating, and most people under the age of 13 are against them too, and those that aren't against them are the ones that you see trolling everywhere ingame.

 

Yes I like hunting down bots and reporting them, but I don't report people for not talking. I can't see them talk anyway until the 28th of September this year.

 

Okay, that was my rant. And I feel sorry for anyone else who has to suffer the same false accusations because they told the truth.

tbh whenever I'm playing my chat is 'off' and the only tab I have on is clan (unless I need to see game chat like at Metal drags :P). Regardless, I can never see anyone talking and as such I don't reply when they talk to me. You have no idea how many times I've turned my chat back 'on' just to see:

Idc tbh, Jagex aren't TOTAL idiots so they'll know you aint botting if you've been reported for not entering into a conversation :P

if you get reported you wont get banned for botting if you arent botting jagex use there own macro to detect macro use if your account isnt using a macro/bot then your fine if people report you, you wont get banned for not being able to speak so if they report you iek is aid your fine unless you do bot

Nah dude, that rule wasn't even out yet, it was "For all ages" back then. Or at least it was when I started, since the rule didn't come into play until I was already either 13 or almost 13. Or I'm making [cabbage] up. But I'm pretty sure that the rule wasn't in place until sometime in around late 2005 or early 2006.

I don't report people for not responding, that's physically impossible anyway, when I can't talk to them or see what they say, I report people for bot like actions, not for being afk, or for not responding or being in another tab. I report them for stuff like running northwest randomly, or repeated failure to do something simple like opening a door or moving because there's a fire in their way or a cannon.

 

Really? You really report people for misclicking? So if you see someone cooking, and they randomly run in a random direction, you would report them? That barely makes sense. Hell, that makes no sense at all. For all you know they could have tried clicking their friends list but missed by a couple of pixels. And how does moving in a random direction even remotely symbolize someone being a bot? It's not a repeated action, and chances are; if they were botting, it would sure as hell be repeated.

Exactly my point. For all I know, they may be saying: "Greetings fellow player, are you a legitimate player or are you using third party software to gain an unfair advantage over other players"
