09-Feb-2011 Prisoner of Glouphrie and Gnome Graphical Rework

I'd say trolls or dwarves are next in line for a serious graphical rework. Wizards could also do with a bit of jazzing up.

It's kind of crap because we've had 2 dwarf quests since they promised us a dwarf graphical update (not the chathead, but it's great nonetheless). Trolls are also long overdue for an update, we've had the first graphically done troll during the Easter event last year, and they even managed a whole group of them in the latest dwarf quest (My Arm). Wonder what's holding them.

Probably holding it off until they update the troll area which should be soon as they leaked part of the updated troll area in a map of the wilderness.

When I first saw the teasers of the new gnomes, I didn't like them too much, but when I saw them in the quest and such, I was pleased. I think I prefer them now. The soldiers look awesome. XD

Same here. I love the capes they wear the most though. :P The king capes look all fluffy and stuff. <3:

Indeed, the soldiers look awsome! Quest was fun too.

For people who did the quest and thought it was too short, try doing it without a guide.

I started it literally after it came out and as far as I remember it took me ... like less then 1.5 hours to do it ... considering that I searched for the medium crystal ~15 minutes (didn't saw the second shelf). ~1 hour and 15 minutes for a quest without a guide is .. well .. short.

It was my fault ... I wondered around the prison to study it ... when I just had to rotate 1 camera <_<

anyways the quest was short no doubt about it ... but I don't find that to be a something bad.

I really hope the Arposandra proper is more impressive than this. I mean, if they're making a city from scratch than they should be designing it graphically from scratch right? It shouldn't just look like a boring version of Keldagrim. If it's a city of stone as the name implies, how about some good stonework? Made out of limestone, granite, and sandstone? Something.

Well, i always check every possible details myself too, it usually pays off in quest time + you get to know the lore/area

Btw ... is the machine that turns the terror birds to warped the same as the machine that turned the dwarves to chaos during the King of Dwarves ?

i dont remember it exactly, (and it wasnt in king of the dwarves, it was revenge of a chaos dwarf) but i dont think its the same, but it had quite a similar design.

Similar machines, but I think it's safe to say that the Gnomes of Aprosandra would have given the Red Axe the machine to convert Dwarves into Chaos Dwarves and hence why the two machines are similar. Thought it was a nice touch to further show the strong connection between them both.

Guess it could be the said the machine forces evolution and if Terrorbirds either become 'warped' or 'guards' does that mean there's another variation to go alongside chaos dwarves.

Okay, you apparently didn't use one.

But I can't imagine that everyone complaining about short quests don't use a quest guide.

Thus being a little hypocrite in my eyes. :-P

Warped Chaos Dwarves? :o

Warped Dwogres?! :o

I was thinking more along the lines of Chaos Dwarves being the 'defect/warped' variety and the best Dwarves possible would be enhanced into something else...

...Like Giant Dwarves!!! That can use magic, and summoning, range, mage, melee, prayer and have combat levels that go up to 138!! ...w~~ait a minute!

I had to log out while in the dungeon after finding Bolrie and when I logged beck in I was in Lletya. There is probably a very simple answer to this but I canno find out how to get back in the cave. It does not seem possible to enter from Lletya up the hill any more without Golrana as a guide. Any tips?

We can dream but I dunno.

Afterall the dwarvesa are using the machine on a sentient being just to make a bit more powerful.

The gnomes are using the machine to make a mindless bird sentient and change their physical structure.

Sorta makes sense it can go v wrong for the gnomes but not so much for the dwarves.

Aye, true. Just gonna have to watch this space and see what Jagex will do with it, if they do anything further with it!

I wonder if the gnomes being trained up that can turn invisible also went through the machine. It might improve certain characteristics depending on race, gnomes become better illusionists, dwarves become stronger, animals become smarter or warped(stronger?). Curious if it'll be used for other races.

Doubt the gnomes likn in note the invisible gnome(s) we come across in Monkey Madness. Seems to be an inate gnomic ability that the best spy types harness well when trained.

Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.
