If your only probably is getting cleaned - maybe you shouldn't be staking so much. Or at least have a pool you would never dip into, no matter what.

Maybe put it on a different account or maybe stick some of it into an item (but not something super rare and the other guy probably won't accept).

Stop downloading things for runescape - I don't see how people have "downloaded" so many random things to get their accounts compromised.

The only thing I've EVER downloaded for runescape (other then java/directx or whatever) was the swiftkit. Even so, I did some research on it - google the name and look for any reports of people posting about it compromising their computers.

^These results should be taken with a grain of salt. If only one post shows up, the program may or may not have attributed to the guy being cleaned.

If multiple results show up - alerts should be going off in your head.

Some people seek an advantage in a game by not having to play the game themselves to get something in the game completed(lol its a game, which is meant to be played for enjoyment). They get what they deserved when they get cleaned.

Have you clicked on any suspicious websites?

Have you ever shared your account?

Have you signed up your email account for a fishy website that promotes RS help?

 

No offense, but I find it hard to believe in most cases that the person who got hacked downloaded/clicked nothing to get themselves compromised.

If you don't have too much stuff on your computer - reformat it and see where that leads you.

This might be a major hassle - for me though, I have most of my important documents/school stuff and music/videos/etc on a hard drive so it's not that much of a hassle. However, this may not be recommended for you.

To add one more to that list, don't respond to random/unusual emails or emails that "appear" to be from Jagex.

Don't quit if u still enjoy the game.

 

Clean up your computer, 98% of the time when a person gets hacked is because of their own fault... SO u prob have downloaded or clicked, or been sent a keylogger.

 

If u feel you're sick of the game take a break. I have played since 2001, last 4-6 years only played maybe a couple of months a year. It's fun playing like that. Grind grind grind, QUIT, grind grind grind. :D

This will do nothing, to your computer it is exactly the same as typing the keys on the keyboard, its a tool for handicapped people, not for security.

Pretty high if you've downloaded anything. If you get hacked three times, you know you're obviously doing something wrong. Clean your computer, change your password, set recoveries (if you haven't already), get a bank pin. Don't tell anyone your password. Getting hacked isn't a sign of quitting, it's a sign of lack of security on your end, and it won't just happen to runescape if it's a keylogger.

1. download combofix and malwarebytes, run both.

2. stop clicking random porn links

3. if step 1 doesn't find anything shut off your computer, enter it in safe mode and load the task manager, look for any suspicious programs running.

4. if none of the above are appealing to you reformat your entire computer and chuck a win7 disk in it, back up anything you think is valuable.
