From what I seen it basically kills huever you tie up (if they are not the killer) with the exception of Emmett and Sera(?) as they run the circus events.

 

Oh. So that's how it determined who died.

 

 

Back on topic:

I *almost* killed someone in the last room. I had trouble figuring out it was Emmett *again*. Seriously... she repeated two times. I guess it makes it feel more random... but I think it would've been more interesting if each room was random, but still easy enough to spot. I did like how she said "interesting choice" every time you picked someone who was possessed before.. added a twinge of "ohno I picked wrong" terror to the choice.

Could the Book of Char's effect be used on a single large pile of logs, stepping back and forth, or possibly 2 piles of logs next to eachother, again stepping between each other?

Or maybe there's something better already figured out...?

 

Meh, haven't gotten to use mine at all yet. Activated it as soon as I got it... <_<

Lol I hope they used a similar animation for Aegis though.

I really dislike cave quests/sneaking around guards/time based actions like gout tuber quest, kenneth's concerns, etc. Sera felt like a different person by the end; at the start she seemed like a [bleep] and that no-one really liked her, but at the end offering to help Emmet rejoin the circus and being upset that Phoenix died. However, I like choice-based actions in quests, I just wish that they weren't as easy to guess who was possessed. And some of the horror/shock from Piercing Note could have been used. Puzzles mostly felt like a waste of time, although the boss fight was fun (won first try, didn't use anything. Swift gloves help a TON, double 2000s at rapid dart pace meant I never saw the fire walls come out).

 

I'm not sure, the entire thing felt too isolated. No items were needed, you used the specialised pitch can the quest invented, and it didn't feel connected to the rest of the game. Finally, Char was annoying in that she still kept trying to kill us. For people that had prior questcapes, they've been on Zaro's side to help make that purple portal to him in The Temple at Senntisten. So, it kind of felt like we should have been less hostile. Pretty fun overall. I wonder what the firemaking xp reward would have been had they not caved in to whiners. Also, if rswiki is correct that they don't need food, I may have to get 91 in order to grab myself one of these. I'm a sucker for particle effects (48/200 tokens for faithful shield. kill me)

Right. But then you step off then back on, and the next one is the topmost log. And you can step between two stacks of like 14 and barely be moving, instead of taking the time and dexterity to lay them out in lines.

To be fair on the hostile front we were not initially hostile; we only became hostile when she started trying to kill us and would not listen to us as she deemed us unworthy due to not knowing who she was. I think anybody would become hostile, despite her links to Zaros, given how she had us trapped and was trying to kill us off one by one.

but there is already a fire burning there?

It does not light fires; it instantly incinerates the logs into ashes for double(?) exp of normal.

Could you pay a load of friends to drop the logs for you (like 5 enough to constantly have logs on floor to run across) for epic xp/hr.

How long does the effect last for/is it permanent?

Given the time delay between someone dropping and you seeing it it means you don;t see it for all that long which would make timing it right near impossible.

 

The effect only lasts for a few minutes (I wanna say 3 but I'm not sure) and then has roughly 24 hours recharge it seems.

Don't items instantly appear to other people when you drop them in the wildy? Might be worth finding an empty world and doing it there.

You can walk 1 square per tick or run 2 squares per tick. If it will burn two logs per tick while running, you should have at least 3 stacks going, so you can run back and forth and hit 2 logs per tick. 5 stacks works as well, running 2 ticks each time, and 7 etc. etc. but an even number of stacks is technically worse (assuming you use all stacks that you dropped) :geek:.

I doubt running would work based on the fact jmods confirmed current run speed is basically a 'hack' whereby you skip a square; therefore logically I would assume this effect would not work on the skipped square since, as far as the game is concerned, you were never on it.

This post shows a video where the firemaker is running and getting 1215ish xp per tick, which is 4 magic logs' worth. Maybe I shouldn't have said 'if it works' :P.

Firemaking xp is doubled, so that's only two logs.

edit: nevermind. you're right :wall:

As for having to coordinate timing, what about unleashing the book in the wilderness? 7-8 people with a yak and inventory should be enough. Obviously not possible for "regular" people, but video makers/famous people/rich people might be able to pay people to do that every day. Just a thought

its very simple to get 100k xp + with no yak.. the yak method is terrible compared to what can be done to achieve maximum exp

Doesn't really help to say "it's very simple to get 100k+ exp." Are you going to share or just keep saying it's simple?

 

Also, the Yak gets 100k+ as well. What would be your "maximum exp" with this method?

I couldn't find a guide for getting the Firemaker's costume so I just went and tried it myself.

Very simple, just do 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 99. No emotes. Failing 1-2 probably won't hurt, but if you do fail, you might want to throw in a few emotes. I got my pieces from the Ranged and Magic events.

The point is not to get too high. I got about 700 in both Magic and Ranged just adhering to the above. The clothing needs between 501-1000. If you haven't already gotten the Acrobat clothing you may get get that before you can get Firemaker's. Fortunately, you have 5 events now that can each give a piece of clothing if you score correctly. :) There are only two pieces of Firemaker however.

 

Edit: So I guess this is just what you would do for max XP normally? That makes it very easy and convenient to get the new things. I scored within the 700s on 4/5 events not failing at all, and 613 on one event failing the highest obstacle (I can't breathe Rubium it seems :(). So you can probably fail the 2 highest events without doing any emotes and still get a piece.
