Will the dragon warhammer ever be released?

Featured Replies

Like others have said, Dragon weapons are only really used now as spec weapons. They could easily release one with a spec as useful as claws and make it a drop from a TD type enemy.

Outside of special attacks though, Dragon weapons are just outclassed by way too many other weapons.

It would either never be used, or be used solely for its spec. If it was good enough to be used for spec, it would either replace current spec weapons like dd or claws, or it would have to be a unique special mechanic with it's own niche.

Either way, it wouldn't be widely used content, so I can't really see the point in releasing it.

Alright, I will admit it, I should give other weapons a chance. But I will talk about that in another thread, (maybe one in help and advice) since I don't wanna go off topic here.

Yeah, I'm one of the very few people who would care about this weapon. And most likely it won't be released in the game as not many people care about the dragon warhammer, but I still want it to be released. Wishful thinking I know.

... Wouldn't be the first time they reniged on their stands so I refuse to believe it completely.

Agreed Urza, if there ever were going to release it, it should have been years ago, same goes for sword, kite, crossbow (and hasta?)

Pity to be honest, was a good oppertunity for a decent weapon, and the special attack could have been decent.

In my opinion the Dragon Warhammer was skipped over just like the Dragon Crossbow. Chaotic Crossbows and Mauls are basically better than any dragon counterpart could be. To be fair, a warhammer would be only one-handed, allowing for a defender or shield, but meh. The only 2 advantages would be: non-degrading and special attacks. Every elite armor in the weapon degrades, so it isn't likely to be a game changer unless it degrades. The only real reason to want a Dragon Warhammer is if it came with an awesome special attack, possibly a cross between the specials of Dragon Claws and Granite Mauls - but isn't that already called AGS?

Not sure how Jagex (Or forumers here) can compare weapons from different tiers. Chaotics requires 80 in a combat stat and in dungeoneering, dragon gear requires 60 and maybe a quest. Enough of a difference that you might as well compare steel to rune or something.

Generally, the fact that endgame gear exists isn't a good reason not to have more mid-level equipment.

I would like to see a complete set of Dragon weapons, true it won't be widely used in high level pvm and probably not in PVP (unless it has a good spec, then I guess many 60 Atk pures would use); but I feel it would be nice just for the sake of completion.

Jagex isn't good with balancing between tiers.

Chee made that.

For some reason I really wish they'd release the Dragon warhammer, with a spec like a mini-Statius' Warhammer. That'd be fun to use, I guess. Also for the sake of completing the set.

This is what I was hoping for. However, I believe they'll release it after the combat rework that transfers special attacks to special "abilities". Hopefully said combat rework is extensive and makes slow weapons useful for at least the levels they're targeted at, but I don't believe we were given enough information to conclude such. I wish they'd just throw the DWH in the Heroes Guild shop and the Dragon Shortsword in at Zanaris as an "in other news..." kind of thing for the time being...

That picture is quite possibly one of the funniest things I've seen on these forums in a while.

OT: They won't make it. It's just like the Dragon Crossbow.

Alright, I get it. The dragon warhammer will not be made because I'm apparently the only one who cares about it.

But that doesn't mean I have to use my dragon battleaxe. I'm sure there are alternative crushing weapons I can use. So far the best one I have is a granite maul, I know I need something better. But I will think about that when I get waterfiends as slayer assignments next time.

reading your posts makes me more and more depressed if you are not just trolling.

People have told you that there are better alternatives for crushing such as: Saradomin sword, Zammy spear, Chaotic maul, golaith gloves, god even the barrelchest anchor is better than the crap you are using (seriously a granite maul you thought of as the best alternative after reading the forums? :wall: )

For anything else you should be using a whip, why on earth are you using a dba with your stats.

I have tried the whip, and personally I think a dragon battleaxe is a better weapon. I will admit that I need more variety of weapons.

And no I did not say I thought granite maul was the best alternative I said I should get something better.

I have tried the whip, and personally I think a dragon battleaxe is a better weapon.

You're kidding me, right?

Your opinion is irrelevant, you are just wrong.

Well, I already said everything I wanted to say about an upcoming dragon warhammer. It won't happen, and I can live with that.

Since I will go off topic if I continue posting in this topic, I think it's best if I just leave this thread.

In fact since nobody else agrees with me, and there is nothing left to say, I think this thread should be closed.

Can somebody please close this thread? People have already told me that I'm the only one who cares about that dragon warhammer, and now it's getting off-topic.

You know, I shouldn't even have made this thread to begin with. I should have made a YouTube video about it instead. Same goes to all the shitty rants I made on the rant forum.

If I want to talk about something on RuneScape, I should do it on YouTube, not in a thread here on the forum.tip.it.

If you want to discontinue the discussion I suggest that you stop bumping the thread :) If the thread doesn't get bumped, people won't post on it, and it will die naturally.

There was a long period of time between the dragon chainbody and platebody, plus Jagex saying "It's not going to be released" doesn't mean it won't be.

They said there would be no more dragon items and released a 'Dragon Plate', as in a spinning plate you could buy from Diango in Draynor Village as an April Fools joke and soon after announced it would never be coming.

Also, I too will forever remember muggi as a the fight caves guy, guide helped me get my first few capes :)

Currently not active on RuneScape.

Might as well throw my own two geepees on this matter.

I think it would eventually be released but, like the dragon platebody, it will most likely have been outdated before it makes an appearance. Of course, I said "most likely" because even if it won't compare to weapons like the chaotic maul, it could have the potential to redeem warhammer weapons, which has been the laughing stock since Classic, in the game with an amazing special attack like the dragon claws did for its respective class of weapons. On the top of my head, I cannot recall any other great one-handed crushing weapons for practical use aside from the Statius Warhammer (which is usually reserved for certain boss monsters due to the impractical degrading) so it might show shine in that category as well.

Since it's a dragon weapon, would it be okay if I can theorize any special attacks?
