I was interested in looking over the timeline, but that page lagged terribly for me this afternoon so I'll plan to come back (maybe).

The stats page was interesting and had a nice layout, but I am having trouble believing the one that states on average 150 dragons are killed every day by each player.

I don't have any interest in the goggles or the bow. I was on-line for the milestone and captured a nice screenshot of the announcement, so that's the only 'keepsake' I need.

  • Jagex didn't really make this as much of a big deal as I thought they would. Took all of 15 seconds to do and there's no reason to stay after you kill the first one. Oh well.     Agreed.

  • http://www.runescape...infographics.ws Some fun trivia facts there. I always wanted to know how much GP was in the game. :)

Why does the timeline continuously refer to quests as "Adventures"? Please don't say Jagex plans to change the name of Quests to Adventures.

The bow does look cool though, if a bit over the top, so I hope we get to keep it.

Attempt to destroy the bow.

I am also disappointed with the event, the bow looks amazing thou...

Remember, bots can stay online for 24h/day

I am having trouble believeing that too now that I have done the math. That would be 347,222 dragons killer per second, or a bit over 2000 dragons killer per second on each world, which isn't possible because there aren't that many dragons, or people to slay them, on a world. Unless I did the math wrong, which I might have. Not a good time of day for me and numbers, so I'll look at my math again later.

It's probably 150 dragons killed/day for every account that logged in that day. Assuming 750k players, that is 8.68 dragons killed/second, which sounds more reasonable.

It's 150 per player a day, so lets do the math backwards (which is how they'd do it)

we need to know:

a) the number of dragons killed per day across all servers

b) the player metric they used to count (players played per day, total players, etc)

c) how many dragon spawns are there on a server

b) how fast can they be killed

d) how many members servers are there

But the key difference is what metric for players? it's not 200m players since that's not an average of players online in a day.

I don't think they're including 200m accounts in that. Just the 2-3m or so active dragon hunter bots.

I think they're only counting average number of players per day, not total players of all time.

Interesting how they have written "200M players" in video and Runescape banner on site.

More interesting that within 8 hours after video was uploaded announcing 200M accounts has been released, roughly 1050 players thumbs uped the comment "And how many are legit players?"

Inb4RunescapeAds saying "200M players since launch!".

Will never congratulate dishonest people. But to those developers or people among Jagex team that is against RWT and cares about the community:

Congratulations on your achievements in making Runescape community and game better.

It sounds like a remixed/arranged variation of

I don't know what to think about this in overall, as it seems like a big marketing scheme for SoF and future costume item in Solomons store, but it's nonetheless big achievement. The video about players telling about their thoughts, memories and wishes was nice and actually quite emotional to be honest. It's always nice to see different people from different cultures all around the globe enjoying this game. I actually have to admit it's a bit sad to see all these people who have been with this game since so long, to see where this game is heading. Please Jagex, you have gotten this far, don't take the downhill route now. You got the wheel, you got the costumes - and we are already on the edge. Don't push yourself (and us with you) over it. :(

If they must add more microtransactions, please please please stay on cosmetic items.

It reminds me a LOT of Soul Calibur. Which is a great, great thing. Now they just need to add it to the music player so I can listen to it more :P

Apparently all the fuss has died down though, there's only like three people at the Party Demon anymore. Taking quite a while to take down

Okay, I'm gonna have to unmute my login/lobby screens if that's what they have playing, because that is awesome. +3 to whoever's doing music at JagexHQ.

It's not on the actual login/lobby screen-- you hear it when you log into a world and the 200m Event notification comes up. Sadly once you do the event theres no other way to listen to it, since the popup disappears :(

I meant without being forced to do this ridiculous minigame.

Probably not until the event ends, then.

Still, it takes like 30 seconds to get both.

Sigh, when does the event end?

Jagex, being super specific and not vague at all, has told us that the event will end "soon".

Trying is just the first step in failure.
