jak722
I admit. Im a ketchup fiend. I put ketchup on almost anything. In fact, its safe to say that my body wont decay after death because of all the preservatives ive consumed from ketchup. (well maybe not...) But theres a question that keeps bothering me everytime I slurp that red stuff. Is restaurant ketchup, the ones in packets, better than retail, bottled ketchup? Everytime that fried chicken and me crosses path, I always go and use ketchup packets from restaurants. They seem... sweeter and more flavorful than normal ones... Is it just me, or does anyone else think the same? :| The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. Mercifull
Depends on if they are stingy and use cheap ketchup. Sometimes they try to be sneaky and put cheap stuff in Heinz bottles lol but you can always tell :P Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Pink
I love ketchup... My hamburgers are like 70$ ketchup.... ;) I think the only reason the restarunt ketchup is better is because youre really hungry and you can smell everyone elses food. Also, it ferments for a while. :)
weezcake
Maybe it's the fact that it's left out instead of being kept fresh for long periods of time in a refridgerator. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Mr_Putter
Well, the McDonalds catsup (yes, CATSUP) used to be imported from America to all the chains...But all the Harvey's stuff in the packets is made in Canada. I'm pretty sure the American stuff has a different recipe...I'm not sure if they still use American catsup in McDonalds, I haven't eaten there in almost 3 years. rocketman089
Well, the McDonalds catsup (yes, CATSUP) After Mr. Burns, you're the second person I know of who uses the word "Catsup". It just sounds wrong to me. Gamertag: King Arizona
jak722
Well theres also a ketchup/catsup made of Bananas instead of tomatos too. Oh yea, I get mostly MacDonalds ketchup lol. Anyways from what im getting, its 3 Packets vs 1 or 2 Bottled. (Im with packets btw) The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. Unitedite
No. If it's teh same brand then it tastes the same. If it's a different brand then ofc it may taste better, but that's nothing to do with it being from a resteraunt. McDonald's ketchup is great. :D In a little hilltop village they gambled for my clothesI bargained for salvation and they gave me a lethal doseI offered up my innocence, I got repaid with scorn"Come in'', she said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

TheChuck0
personaly i can never tell the difference. Usualy I put mustard on everything. That and mayonaise. Now catsup and ketchup. There is a difference there I'm pretty sure, and sometimes different brands have different tastes. I mean if you're a high class ketchup conosieur. unknownmasterofnothing
Restaurant ketchup is usually better than my home one, because of better conditions. In my fridge it gets too cold.

I'll go to In-n-Out because I know their food is fresher, but I almost never do. Arcticrunite
Actually, theres two different type of restraunt ketchup, the ones in mcdonalds in the little packets, and the ones in a diner such as a Denny's or a Applebees in the bottles. The eatery ketchups are thicker and have a better taste because you pay more for the food instead of going to a Mcdonalds in such. <3 Eatery Ketchup
Exarch
I work in a small restaurant, and while my boss uses ketchup for lunch (Heinze), if people ask for it during dinner, he tells them he just ran out. Nothing on the dinner menu goes with ketchup.. sadly some people ask for it on things like a saint jacques schnitzel (pork thing topped with seafood stuff).. yuck. dogtag_dez
Ketchup at chicken shop or kebab shop always seems to be thinner than teh normal heinz, and more sugary.
Necromagus
It really depends on the kind of restaurants you go to I guess. I even know one or two restaurants that make all the sauces themselves, although I've never eaten there so I couldn't tell if it made a difference or not. jak722
Well yea the thing is, the brand I buy is Heinz and MacDonald packets are also made by Heinz. I noticed that on most occasions, MacDonalds ketchup tends to stay "whole" but Bottled ketchup often turn "watery" on the top. Kinda like what Dogtag said. (Not sure if you understand what I meant... Kinda hard to explain...) The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. Rilha
Yay, a fellow ketchupaholic! I think it may be the packaging they have in restaurants; for some stupid reason, things in different containers taste different. Try tasting milk that's been in a paper carton, then milk that's been in a plastic carton; It may be the lack of refrigeration in restaurants; they just let it sit. If all else fails, pilfer as much ketchup as you can from your favourite restaurant. I love languages.J'adore les langues.ÃÆÃ
