Checked every piece of lore on it.

Also, the World Gate and the Portal of Life from Meeting History and thus the portal Guthix used to transport races to Gielinor.

 

Tier 4 gods can summon temporary portals to transport armies too, and it seems Icthlarin can too.

Indeed there is only one world gate but tier 4 gods upwards can make their own temporary portals.

 

I think Guthix opted to use it as it was stable and offered a 'safer' way to bring races to this ideal world - I mean he had other means its mentioned he original found Gielinor using the sword as it could open portals.

It's also possible in the 1st age Guthix was simply not that strong - he was fresh to godhood via Skagaroth's power and had the sword but presumably it took some time whilst he had the sword, staff, stone and horn to elevate him right up to the higher tiers.

I respect the idea for unique player decided content but I feel like this is just going to lead to a trainwreck of storylines as every player has some different idea of RS lore because they decided Zaros shouldn't come back to take over the world or not...anyway...been waiting since I first started playing for Zaros to come back so I'm excited.

When they discussed it in the podcast they said Zaros would return no matter what, player choice would just decide in what form and to an extent at what strength (but always within tier 2) which is pretty much a get out of jail free card when it comes to moving forward because at tier 2 godhood even in his weakest form no-one really poses a threat to Zaros aside from maybe Seren and the Elder Gods.

 

And truth be told I expect it will be a lore factor that no god will try to mess with Tier 2+ - I mean the last time they annoyed tier 2 they got thrown out of the world in the blink of an eye. About the only tier 2 action I expect we could see will be Zaros and Seren interplay, Elder god smiting and perhaps Sara ascending and trying to meddle but ultimately failing (especially as Sara seems likely to annoy both Seren and Zaros)

Re Sliske, kind of wish they would have a more respectable/intimidating villain than this guy. He just pisses me off with his silliness/immaturity. But I guess that's the point.

Seems an interesting realm to visit though and I hope we will be able to revisit or that there's something more to do :)... :drool:

Oh yeah, a new training ground with new NPCs or dangerous skilling area would be fun to play with. Of course, chances are that it'll only be useful (or probably only exist) for the duration of the quest.

You have to keep in mind that mahjarrat memories, as far as learning about the other gods that have died, set us up for jagex bringing us to hidden caches of god energy. I would emphesize hidden because most think once a god dies that everyone and their mother is sucking up that energy.

I hope that with the ribbon customization comes the same slimmed down sort of functions they edited the backpack pane to have. I can't make that ribbon fit in ANYWHERE half as well as I can everything else, damn it. The second biggest culprit of icky layouts are the ability bar, but at least that has an excuse. >_>'

 

 

During the quest you’ll talk to Zaros, (or what’s left of him), and decide for yourself if he is worthy to return to Gielinor.

...

Be careful with the choices you make, for more than Zaros's life is a stake.

So Zaros' return will be unique to each player and not a global result? Interesting to see how this will affect future quest development.

 

I would be shocked if that's the case. Imagine how much of a nightmare that would be to work around. It'll probably end up being something like trying to withhold the Wand of Life from Saradomin and in the end you can only really choose who gets it instead of keeping it. Zaros' return is too influential to the world at large to let it be an individual's choice.

I hope they also let us get rid of the tab system too. I wouldn't mind having a ribbon bar with a button for every interface accessible in one click and having it show up the same way as it did before, one clean rectangle in which the selected interface appears instead of several tabs cluttering up over time.

So apparently you'll need to train divination to obtain the memories to charge an "engrammeter."

 

Engrams are hypothetically, fragments if memories.

 

So I think we are collecting memories to charge the engrammeter. In return when we hit a limit it will have a sufficient charge to help lead us to a new memory.

 

From there I think it might be a hot and cold minigame to hunt for the exact location of the memories.

Quest looks good; I hope it will be as good as described when released.

 

Wonder whether decisions like Zaros' return made during quest affects the whole game world in general (like other players) or just me personally. I really hope its the latter.

 

Does that mean One of a Kind is still off schedule?
