February 21, 200620 yr Do you think that of the people who start Runescape just now, making their very first level 3 account, there could be any amongst them who will become great players in a few years? Or has anyone who is a true enough RPGer to become a great player already heard about Runescape and made an account, and are the only people who join now, kids who like begging and cheating in any game? Runescape: Lodev (Combat level been fixed at 101 for years now, Total level 1500+, playing since march 2002)Arenascape: Lode (Level 240+ Warlock)
February 21, 200620 yr Well...All lvl 3 noobs i met today was idiots..."Gimme money!" "Can i get your armor?" "Plz plz plz plz gimme food!" Omg...In summer 2005, lvl 3 noobs weren`t like that.... Things have indeed changed... :?
February 21, 200620 yr only future can tell... And the reason why you think that people are acting "noob:ish" is because RuneScape players have become too experienced, back in 2001 - 2002, everyone was a beginner and there were a lot of beggars as well. Visit my Runescape comedy website, based on in-game screenshots.
February 21, 200620 yr Well....anyone could be one of the top 100 if they liked the game enough...a future great could have just started. And with the "noob" factor, alot of them are not serious about playing. F2P worlds are full of beggers, scammers,etc...While people who play are more civillised. Sad to say it...but it's true. :( Just started my new account.
February 21, 200620 yr While i was fishing, A noob came to me and begged for fish. I gave him fish, And he didnt even say thanks all he said was "Moreeee!". So i gave him more... Then he shouted again! "Moreee!" I gave him all fish i had (I didnt need it anyway...). Then he just went away, Without saying ty or thanks! People like he is the scums of RuneScape!
February 21, 200620 yr i was in fally square in a f2p world having a decent convo with a lvl 95 in full dragon. the amount of noobs coming up and asking for free stuff or "100k to borrow" was innumberable. in short, no, i dont think there will b any rising stars in todays generation of newbs
February 21, 200620 yr I started a month ago and im lvl 50 already. I really dont care for anyone who thinks that every sinle player who isnt level 250 is some 6 year old fat kid who begs for 8 hours a day. Agreed, there are a lot of players doing this, but they are not all like this. Have some faith...
February 21, 200620 yr ^ I'm happy to accept eirvine1 that you may well be a good player and a good friend of the community. You have to understand though, with the large majority of the influx of players not sharing an I.Q point between them, "older players", as it were, can have a lack of faith. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
February 21, 200620 yr With dedication you can be among the richest players within 2 years - even nowadays. The value of my bank at its height. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 250 billion+.Most likely the largest trade in RuneScape ever. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 70 billion+.
February 21, 200620 yr Well i just started and i haven't begged any boy for anything and i was able to mine 50k rune essence in like 3 days :D Plus in the 4 days i've had my account i've had enough cash to buy full rune.
February 21, 200620 yr Actually, there havnt always beens noobs, but yes, mostly there have. Back in the good ol days(Before Miniclip) most people who played runescape, found it because they were looking for RPG's. Now most new players are just people who happened to see it on runescape.
:? exactly... in summer newbs have a full 3 months+ to lvl up their skills, and forgot all about begging. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
February 21, 200620 yr I don't see what time they join has to do with it. Sure they could become great players. But take it like this. There are more people playing now then ever. So understandably there will be more beggers. I beleive you have to be smart to actually becomea good player. Begger don't get anywhere. They end up level 30's that forget about this. Screw them. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
February 21, 200620 yr With dedication you can be among the richest players within 2 years - even nowadays. Pm me how :D. Anyway, people who have never played classic can't be a legend, because legends have gone trough every part of a game. I think only few new players know who Tks is/was, why lilyuffie is better then zezima etc.
February 21, 200620 yr i doubt theres any greats anymore, its so difficult to get started now (scammers beggers ext.) i think that anyone that would be a potential great would get scared off when he gets scamed full bronze his first day playing. Back when i started i hardly even saw begger, now i cant enter fally without a level 5 telling me a black lobby is rare and i should trade my full guthans for it. P.S duke freedom pm me somtime =D i wanna know how to become mega rich :P http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/975/70961xn8.jpg[/img]Playing WoW
February 21, 200620 yr Define great. There are so many different ways that people define the greatness of a player, their level, their bank, etc... Personally, I find that the greatest players are the ones that you want to spend time with when you play. They also leave the game as some of the richest players. They have both their memories of the fun they had and they have their friends, and no hacker or scammer can take those away.

Anyway, people who have never played classic can't be a legend, because legends have gone trough every part of a game. I think only few new players know who Tks is/was, why lilyuffie is better then zezima etc. I've played since day 1,. and I dont know why lilyuffie88 is better than zezima :? they are good in their own ways, they have very different interests, and i doubt they see eachother as competitors.
February 22, 200620 yr Now adays when new players join rs who have no idea what-so-ever the game is "about" have a difficult chance of becoming a great player. When they first enter the game they see a bunch on noobs begging each other for armor and gold. He/she will start asking players for stuff, and not attempt to try to work for gold, and will be just another normal noob. In my opion, if a new player joins the rs community they need somebody of a higher knowledge/expiernce to personally help them and teach them the way to get gold and lvl's. When i joined (year ago) i knew a player in real life who helped get in the right direction. I have now helped about 4 friends start playing rs and are now all 70+. I predict that when 1 out of 100 new players join runescape, and get no help will go onto be lvl 60+. Things have indeed changed... :? Times were exactly like that in summer 2005... And all the time before that too. It's the same in every online game. Runescape is no exception. There are always the beggers who just want a free ride though the game.
February 22, 200620 yr i played runescape before tha hype on miniclip i stopped playin cause of beggers tahts was all tha way back in 2002 i was level 30 i played like every couple years but now im level 50 and im play maybe once or 2 every 3 days im back 2 it but it seems easier 2 go up in levels now adays doesnt it?

February 22, 200620 yr Was giving out free willow bows (as there wasnt use since i fletch like 700 of it) in world 3 (f2p) with my friend (was quite a high lvl one). Was shouting in fally, varrock, draynor and lumby "Free willow bow, 1 per person". And I'm not surprise that numbers of people came to get it since it was free, on the other hand, met quite a numbers of noobs who wanted ALL my willows bow after I given him 1. What a greedy fellow. This groups of noobs followed us all the way and begging for more stuffs after we given them 1 of willow bow, we got no choice but to teleport away. Why can't they just behave more friendly and decent? :? Thanks Metroid for the siggy and dark_shadow for avvy! \:D/  <3 wendy
