Why is this?

Whenever theres a TV around...say 100 feet away, I know its waiting for me.

You can hear some kind of vibration..and you just know you're approaching one (even if the volume is muted).. When Im coming home from school I can tell from my steps outside If the TV is on or not. And In school, as im approaching my class I get really excited because I know we're about to watch a movie 8-)

Happens to me sometimes as well *shrug*

T.V. when they're on standby make a very high toned endless beep. If I'm going upstairs I feel if it's on or not as well. At work we've got 8 t.v.'s on canstantly, and when you put them off you got this huge beep of all the t.v.'s combined.

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

It's from the pretty high frequency of the TV, just skips straight past your eardrum and hits your bones in your ear :P

Yeah it's just a high pitched sound. Most people can sense it I think.

Heh I can't. Kids in my school always turn off the TV's when they aren't in use, I can't tell the difference lol.

Yea, it's kinda cool coming downstairs when the TV is muted and knowing it's on. I always turn it off, I don't like it ;0.

Hah I totally know what you mean.

There was one day in geometry last year...I remember...

I came into the class, and heard the TV was on. It was completely black and there wasn't any fuzz, there was only the loud tone that TV's make when they're on. Anyway, I didn't say anything....so it drove me crazy for the entire period. At the end I went over and hit the power button. The teacher asked me what I was doing, and I said turning off the TV. She just looked at me and said that she didn't realize it was on.

What really amazes me is that no one else noticed and/or cared enough to turn it off.

The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak.

In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

Thats exactly right.

Everyone Go to your TV, and go behind it. Put your ers right up to it and tell me what you hear. Make sure its muted so you don't hear anything else.

Yeah I know what you mean, I hear that all the time and it pisses me off sometimes. For awhile I just thought something was wrong with my hearing.

It is strange. We have 4 TVs in the house and 2 computers (my pocket pc doesn't really do that), and I can tell each one apart.

The few... the proud... the people that can hear the high pitched whine the TV makes! :D I'd like to see that on a Marines commercial...

ANYWAY, it happens to me sometimes, but only with certain TVs. I can't hear it with others.

I always thought I was special for having such an "ability". I guess I'm not the only one!

Yeah.. I can sense a TV that's on usually. I've heard walked outside of someone's house, heard the TV sound, looked in, and surely enough, they were watching TV.

Maybe this is some kind of weird sixth sense?
