All new updates are FADS!

Featured Replies

Ever notice how for the first week or two of a new update, many people are doing that specific thing if they can? Death to the Dogreshuun was ridiculous. I saw Zarik everywhere! When the Chaos Elemental came, many people were there. During that time I managed to pick up full blue dragonhide and a few potions. Now in that area, there is nobody once again. Construction did only slightly better than the rest. It lasted a couple of weeks with most people near a portal or in someone's house. Then, the week afterward, there were a few standing there.

Let's discuss this "phenomenon".

I've beaten the Heroe's Quest, oh yeah! Ummm, now what? I know, magic training! How FUN is that? Yippee!

And that was my waste of space called a sig.

everyone wants to be first

first to get a d2h from chaos elemental

first to get high constrution

first to finish the quest

now that people have done it the race is pretty much over

Well, when new things come out, you'd of course try it, I wanted to try all the new quests when they came out, tried construction right before school :wall: Didn't get anywhere, but tried it out. \'

Theres updates for a reason - to try them out. People try them out straight away because they want to do something different or be the first to get an item but more importantly for the enjoyment and experience.

Also I dont think Pest Control and Castle Wars is a fad, those 2 minigames are still going strong.

Well someone has to try out the updates first hand, I do and see what it's like. You never know what Jagex releases in thier updates...

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Most people pay $5 a month for the updates...why not try em out?

Quit RS, combat 104, total 1651

I know why all new updates seem like "fads."

Because they are bad updates. Jagex keeps putting in useless updates to keep all the whiney babies quiet that cry if they don't get an update every week.

Have you noticed that their good updates, such as pest control and barrows aren't just a "fad?" It's because they're fun and useful updates.

I guess some people do that, try being the first, but most people go there first for a simple reason, because they just want to do something new, thats all. Or else you wouldt see thousands still doing the quest even tho the guide is already up.

A new quest or new area provides something other than the daily grind of leveling skills or making money. Fresh things are always popular. At higher levels it takes forever to get the next level. And most of the time you spend on Runescape is rather boring.

I think it's fun to see so many people doing the same thing and enjoying the experience. It's sort of like the people that camp out in movie lines, the interactions and actual act of waiting is often more fun than what you're waiting for.

You cannot seriously use quests in this argument.

Quests are a huge part of Runescape but once you have completed a quest you probably wont stay in the quest areas forever, theres hardly anyone doing Desert Treasure at this precise moment or Underground Pass or Mournings End, but I don't see that makes them "fads" or bad updates. Quests are not designed to take weeks to complete, people wouldn't like that.

Don't claim that lack of people doing a quest after they have completed it makes it a "fad".

Remember your country code, and SHUT THE GATES!

nothin is betta than tryin a new thing out

I think most of the replies to this thread will have this general message.

Nothing is better than trying out something new. =D>

All those quests you are talking about took me weeks or I am still working on it.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
