wild_goat_14
Useless? at lvl 53, u can make tele rooms that can teleport you to several useful places (kharyll tele w.o ancients), infinite glory teles, and most important of all, cheap barrow repair (using tea). there are others but i dont wanna use my head too much during summer, but int short... spend money for convenience? YES plus if u think 1.2 mil is too much money to spend on a skill? look at herblore and prayer...heck..magic is expensive in the long runtele room at lvl 48....and yes getting 50 con was very fun for me....got it in 3 days and spent 1 mil...most ive spent on a skill but i had loads of fun because its nto evry repetive I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
elpadrino
Barrows is way easier. I appreciate...sort of...you're opinion but do a little more research into it next time. The real point of POH's was 1. fun, 2. stabalize the economy by taking mass amounts of GP out with no way of getting it back. Im not sure if the outside the wildy pking was apart of the stabalizing the economy but you never know with jade-ex these days, their humor is a little dull. The real question you should be asking is "Has construction stabalized the economy?"

anauijaram
Construction is very worth it. portals to all citys, tablets, glory, altar, makes lvling like 10 skills faster. That alone makes construction worth it.
AriKorzen
As mentioned in almost every other post, the Construction skill has many useful points. Making teleport tablets that save you two or three spaces for food or potions is very helpful to anyone! Also the teleportation portals in your house are very helpful. Sure, they do require a bunch of teleportation runes, but in the long run, it's worth it. Now with the introduction of Lunar Diplomacy, it's even more helpful. Also, houses are mainly a fun thing. You can invite your friends, have your servant serve food to the hungry guests, play games, challenge your friends in the dungeon, it's all good stuff. POH's and Construction bring you and your friends closer in a way, so no, Construction is not pointless. - AK
ebuka
i only needed to read half of the sentence you wrote to argue that contruction ISNT pointless. take for example, amulet of glory on the wall, (you can do that by the way) it gives you infinite teleport! to draynor, alkarid, karamja and edgeville, so if u need to tele to those places and u only have tele to house runes, simply tele to ur house, and rub ur glory. SO contruction isnt pointless.... :shame: i think :-k
meb
When you say it is pointless it sompletely rules out the fact that you said it has some uses. 1M for that stuff is not much. I make 1m per day with barrows... I must be doing something seriously wrong then :-s . Even though I made 3.4m in 1 day because I got lucky... Construction can be quite useful, I love the idea fop having infinite teleports, but I hate raising it. I just bought 1k oak planks, and I can't be bothered with using them. 20 construction ftw. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. jessy87
wow what can i say that hasnt been said about tele rooms altars and workshops? oh nothing because every1 is rite, they are good atributes of having a POH. but, combat ring, well lets just say i find this a good way to try to max hit with dharok, after the person dies they are full hp again, 5 people with 80 hp each in a ring you @ 1 hp and super potted + prayer = ability to max hit safely without the idea of a duel ending RITE after you kill your opponent and have to spend tons of time gettin back into the duel arena waisting precious super str pots. i have several pictures(deleted them) of me 1-hitting a friend with 77 hp @ my house, all he did was hop back in, id hit a 77, hed come back i hit a 77, and another...and so on and so forth some1 had said, combat rings could be a source of unlimited exp, well that maybe true...but its lengthy and all. but it has potential to get you exp, infact i have a plan dealing with my house at a later time...but that will be kept a secret for a while
KurtangleTN
Not every skill has to be a money maker, construction just simply aint. I think it has some usefull features, and some fun features. If you think about it only if its usefull for money in runescape, then no its not really that usefull but I find fun from it and thats what I play the game for. Current Goal: Fire Cape, 0-6 at the caves 0-3 agianst the Jad, Lag done me in.
TateModern
Most people who claim it is pointless are those who can't afford to raise it to a substantial level where it is no longer 'pointless'... Masterd99
I just started doing barrows a couple days ago and my house has helped me so much, I love being able to tele to my house, charge prayer, and run through my kharyll portal to get back to canifis. From chest to Canifis bank is less than 30 seconds, compare that to using another altar to charge... Quest Cape - 10/18/2006
Bloodveld
well i think its good apart from the money needed every1 plug ur ears when bloodveld sees this... :ohnoes:BAM! I take a break from WoW and see a thread like this. :P Some people forget that runescape is meant to be fun not a freaking business!EXACTLY. I mean, the extra stuff like tele tablets and portals are nice, but I love inviting 3 or 4 of my friends over to it and just having some huge free-for-all melee deathmatch in the basement, or similar game. (How about hangman where you can kill each other to prevent them from guessing? ;)) See, this was one of the reasons that I quit runescape, 95% of the population seem to think everything is a business, and stop doing things for fun. I've heard KQers say "Dang I hate this, I just wish I could get a chain", I've heard CWers say "I'm so sick of this game, I just need that gold plate", and I've seen hundreds of people JUST playing PC for the points. What's wrong with you people? Is spending 20 hours to get that attack level really going to be worth it? of course I do:P but I'm just saying they seemed to have a singular view on gaining money that isnt real, when the whole point IMO is for it to be a form of entertainment Building and raising construction was the most fun I had out of any of the skills.Me too! I LOVE con. It brought me back to runescape from WoW (but I went back to WoW after I ran out of cash.) Getting 3 or 4 things at EVERY LEVEL was incredibly rewarding, and getting levels so fast, even at levels 65+, was a lot of fun. My 2̢̮â¬Å¡Ãââ. ~Bloodveld :^_^: I drew that smilie, btw, along with a few more used by this site.Classic bloodveld for lyph3! Scotteh
OK, here's what 1M-1.5M in construction gets you (52 con). - Tele to anywhere on ancients - An instant pray recharge with the click of a teleport tablet or regular tele - A teleport to the werewolf town - Games, games, games - A butler that pretty much owns - Fun in raising the skill - Total lvl + - Self accomplishment, morale boost... - Let me stress this again. Teleport anywhere with ancients. - Glory tele (infinate) - Meeting place - Barrow repair for resduced cost -The ability to plank logs really fast, which can make MAJOR BUCKS if you do it right Not worth it?- Pssh I love my house and would have spent 2M just for the feeling of accomplishment I got while doing it. Every level you get that "oh wow i can make something new" feeling, and you have easy access to rimmington which is easy acess to one of the best rune shops ever, not to mention SNAPE GRASS RESPAWN. - What ever happened to walking and glory amulets + various other jewellries. - Ardougne teleport... - Ectophial with a bit of running - Bored, bored, bored! - I agree, the demon butlers chat stuff is pretty cool. "What is thy bidding my master?" ftw - Fun until you realise how useless it all is. - Stupidly costly total level + - Not really, sitting in a workshop telling your butler to get you logs while you make chairs isn't hard work... - ... - Yes, after spending 70k on a glory and 75k on the room along with the 500k+ getting to that level :-s - What ever happened to falador. - Yes, after you've spent 1.5M getting to that level you can begin to save money. Yay! Only 50+ repairs til I've broken even. - Mmmmmmmm I found that quite tedious. I prefer to work instead of getting ripped off by a red demon. Easy access to Rimmington? What is in rimmington that's useful? Snape grass respawn? Falador under-wall shortcut... :-w ^^ Support it or get confused by pixel-mess :D
he_is_an_avalanche
Well, I don't plan on spending over 10 mill on it unless I get bored of staking and don't need money for anything. I'm lvl 55 right now, only took like a day or two of random training. I just got my girlfriend members and she loves to work on her house with her kitten, so I try to make mine fairly decent so we have a place to go to just hang out/do whatever when we don't feel like training anything and maybe play some games. 75-80 is the highest I go until I reach my attack/defense/range goals. Then I'll go all out on it. Attack - 99/99Defense - 97/99 A quest to be the best

It helps the economy, and as other people said, it is a skill which helps all other skills(and sometimes helps you save money).
