Could you use 1 terabyte hard drive space?

Featured Replies

This is just a question of curiosity. Could you use 1 terabyte (1000gb) of hard drive disc space? Would you be able to fill the whole disc, would you ever need to have that much space?

Posted by Viktorkrum77 who says he does not need that much space. :D

Personally, no. I clean my computer way too often and delete unneeded files. I only need an 80gb at most.

Teaching and inspiring.

1 terabyte is 1,000gb of space not 500  .

I could maybe use 1TB for media purposes, such as recorded tv shows and maybe for blue-ray/ HD-DVD when it becomes more popular. I just got a TV tuner card and my 250gb hard drive is filling up fast.

I have only used about 80 of my 200 gigs.... 1TB would be overkill.

I probably could probably if I tried. On my other 80GB PC I kept having to delete quite a lot of large files every so often.

I'm nearly getting to that point with this 80GB computer now.

i know someone who has 10 TB storage space and way more for back ups. He's a photographer who takes massive photographs though so it's understandable

yeah it would be easy, good way to test different OS's too.

If i was reckless yeah. Id make sure i put all my CD's on my computer not as mp3s but lessless formats. I would also not worry about uninstalling games when i dont use them. And I would use my computer as a hard disk recorder to tape TV.

Easily; I've got 570GB of storage now and I've got a lot on data DVDs because I overflowed.

Me doing staff.

Only a terabyte?

I could fill that with justs my dad's photography storage and the family DVD collection.

Nope. My computer has a whopping total of 30 GB and it gets the job done.

I already have 3 TB of files. A lot of database stuff, movies, music, things of that sort.

agreed with hulk, im using a 3 gigabyte harddrive now and has 600 mb to spare so a terabyte is way overkill for me.

I doubt I would ever get past 500 gigs.

I've got 250 on my PC and it's about half full due to games, music, and movies. Most games are over 2GB now-a-days so it fills up fast. Heck, the latest Tomb Raider game takes up 7GB of space #-o

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

Which in itself proves that quantity != quality :P

If i ripped all my DVD's to my PC id need about 10 TB lol
