Toad
Do you think its Skillful? Or its just time dependant? Why? My view is its mostly time, although some strategys you do need, eg how you do things like drop certain herbs, or how you merchant.. But most is down to skill, Right clicking and attacking doesnt take much skill.. Rs is a game any age group can play because anyone can understand it and its not a game you need to have quick reactions for etc
Ash6110
The only requirement for runescape is decent math skills and the ability to think laterally http://www.draynor.net/code/bar/Noobin\Please join my very new up and coming forumshttp://s3.freepowerboards.com/runeboards Feel free to AIM or MSNM me anytime
koddo1
Most of the game is just time, but you can do things that take skill if you choose. Minigames, some quests, it depends on what you do in this game.
rm2k_champ
Time, there's almost no skill involved. Pking and merchanting are the most skill and theres no thinking in any of these, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to pk.
Lord Diddy
The only requirement for runescape is decent math skills and the ability to think laterally I think some people failed there application :XD: Well for me its mostly time dependant, Hell i could craft 1m nats, tho i only need time to do all of it, sure some things like barrows kqing and everything have skill but Rs is mostly time, fishing, fletching, smithing, mining, ect. queenbee3110
Let me pause to think about that... Err... time. Sorry, no contest. So many skills are time dependant. There's no skill in mining, although there is a small amount in making the most efficient use of your time.
Silu
Both. With only time you could train more than usually but without any skill, almost all of that time would have been wasted. With only skill in the game you would know all the best training spots, how to train that and how do this... But with but without time... You get the drill. Meow? Esper_Jones
Time and patience for most skills, but some minigames do require skill, as others have said. Also, finding out the BEST ways to do things requires thought, but RS can be played without it. Jack of all trades, master of thieving. 259th to 99 thieving. Umega
RuneScape is time orientated, really no intelligence required. However like WoW you really need to think a lot in team battles (although I have played very very little of Wow  ). No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug. wakka102
the only skillful things in this game are the fight caves, mini games, and merchanting. everything else (skills) is just time based.

darkblade986
While I agree that most things in Runescape need skill, Time is a bigger factor. I'll even take that a step further and say that patience is needed... As someone said before, he could craft 1m nats but only needs the time. More or less, he needs the patience so that after he's crafting 100 nats, he doesn't go "this is taking to long" and quits. I swear, I need this quality, and I'm doing my best to work on it. I'm trying right now to make 4.2k Magic Longbows and nats to alchemy them with, all from scratch. That means picking my own flax, chopping my own logs, mining my own pure essence and crafting my own nats. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat

n64jive
there is also the abilty of how you react to something. There is a lil skill involved, and also common knowledge. How else would there be the rich, the middle class, and the poor. The rich, ussually merchants, know prices, how to use skills to their full potential, or how to make/use great pking strategies. The middle class, are experienced with the game, and might still know pretty great stratagies. The poor, make poor decisions, would rather sit around and beg, then go out and make their own money. There are also certain decisions that you can make in stressful situations. Will you panic, or will you stay calm and do the right thing. but yes, with that said, there is a lot of time involved. The_Mercenary14
Neither, it takes being on the right holidays at the right times, and selling the items that are littered on the ground for insane amounts of money.
Greedom1
mostly time. "Skill" only can be considered in terms of trading and choosing the right inv or equipment to fight monsters... Given that the almighty fire cape (about the -only- skill-based reward in the game) has caused so much consternation and stress, I'd venture that most RS players are mosly time-oriented. RSN: Greedom1 | QP 248+ | Combat 116 | Total 1920+ | Skills 95 craft, 99 farm, 88 herb, 91 mage, 85 slayer Values? What do they mean?

archimage_a
Its Luck, Time then Skill You spend 5 years getting 99 everything doesn't make any difference you still need to actually work at things to make money to buy stuff to make money. If you are lucky then you get the breaks like 200 tears in that minigame, or lots of high hits that make it fast to lvl combat. Or lots of crop to lvl farming. If you are skill full you can adapt ,not die when you can't kill something using prayer. Or when you are on a quest and the guide your using isn't working or they missed something. Or when you see that an item can become more valuable. Mostly though its about having an attention span longer than a minute... http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Kondor
It all comes down to how much time you have to actually play the game, I mean sure theres skill in mini games, but on the whole times the bigger factor.
