bookrhino
Quick Find Code On Official Forums: It got eliminated for right now...I'll probably get it back up tomarrow. 8-) Call to All Posters!: I'm asking everybody who visits forums other than TIF to post this thread in other places for publicity (Copy and Paste if needed...change as necessary, of course); just credit me and Who Le Ow (manoman) for posting it. Poll: Due to recent complaints about my company located in the alternate "Hyt!" world (which was intentional; it allows people from TIF to stop by without having to change worlds), I am asking you guys to tell me if you think the company should be located in World 99 or in World 27 (the world I might send it to). Introduction: I was thinking about the many runecrafting companies that exist and help both parties get what they need-- more xp for the crafters and more money for the runners. Well, I was spinning flax in World 99, and I hear all these people offering to trade their flax for bowstrings. So I thought: Why not make a company out of it? So here we go; I'm making my debut here right now, urging all of you who hate spinning flax to choose a faster alternative and to help people who need crafting xp to reach their goals. Rules for Crafters: What To Wear: Any white clothes are fine, but Desert Robes are highly recommended. I choose these clothes because they are cheap, highly accessable, and allow the crafters to stand out. What To Bring: All you need to start out with is 28 bowstrings. Rules for Runners: What To Wear: Anything is fine, although darker clothing is recommended to help distinguish crafters and runners. What To Bring: All you need to bring is 28 flax. How Trades Will Work: The company's base will be located in the spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, so make sure you aren't at another spinning wheel location and complain about how nobody's there. Runners will run from the bank to the second floor (first floor for British) of the spinning wheel building, where they will see the crafters clad in white. When the crafters are ready, they will say "Flax Me!"; at this point the runners can trade them (crafters will NOT initiate trades). Runners will give the crafters 28 flax, and the crafters will give 28 bowstrings in return. The crafters will then proceed to string the flax while the runners will proceed to get some more flax from the bank. The process will end until either the crafter gets all of the experience he needs or until the runner has turned all of his flax into bowstrings. Note: We do not support leaches!!! If you see one, please report it on this thread. If I find your report to be justified, I will post the name of the leach for all to see. Please do not trade with these folks! Benefits: Crafters - By eliminating bank trips, crafters will be able to get faster crafting experience and be able to reach higher levels quicker. Runners - By eliminating the spinning process, runners can make tons of flax into much more valuable bowstrings in less time. If this company becomes popular, this might be much better money than picking flax. Summary: Crafters - Good xp, desert robes, bring 28 bowstrings to start, go to second floor of spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, say "Flax Me!" to request trades, do not initiate trades, trade 28 bowstrings for 28 flax, spin, ask for another trade. Runners - Good cash, no white clothes please (dark clothing recommended), bring 28 flax, go to second floor of spinning wheel building in Seers' Village, trade with a crafter that says "Flax Me!", trade 28 flax for 28 bowstrings, go back to bank to put away bowstrings and get flax, go back to building and trade with a crafter again. Conclusion/Important Note: I don't know if this will work out, but if it does, it might be a great thing and something that could change the fletching and crafting skills, at least a little bit. : I understand that I can't expect this to be a 24/7 company right away, so I'm going to set a date for people to come and try this out. I'm only keeping this on a small scale now to see how it works out. The first date is: FRIDAY NIGHT! The event shall start at 3:00 Eastern Time (United States; GMT-4) and will go on until 10:00, unless something pops up. Just pop on by during this time frame, and you should meet some nice crafters and runners. It would be nice if you could talk about these events and post pictures, so as to encourage other people to join. Please tell me what you think of this idea, as any constructive criticism is welcome! :D Thank you and happy crafting!

DeadPolkaDots1
Innovative idea, I understand there is a large market for BS, but it's not like crafters have to treck across the jungle to reach a bank, they only have to climb a ladder and walk a few squares, however I can see this taking off, as crafting is an abandoned skill IMO, and might entice people to train it. :) Just my 2 cents. Quit RS to play real games. :P Bye TIF, miss you.

bookrhino
Yeah, I understand that (which was a reason I was sort of hesitant to suggest this), but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, I guess. Then again, it keeps crafters from having to buy and sell all of the time. And, manoman, consider yourself the co-owner. 8-)

bookrhino
I know it has been taken, but I thought I would make the alternate Tip.It World the home of this company, since you are the first guys to see this. Plus, manoman suggested this world because of his own devious plans.
CaptainZues
I definatly can see this working for low lvl crafters who want the faster xp. I figure this can get you like 30k xp an hour. As for me I'm sticking to crafting blue hides for xp and only doing flax when I need the bowstrings. But if you want this to really catch on you need to post everywhere, on every forum you can find. Otherwise there won't be enough people and it will die out.

Viktorkrum77
I don't know, why bother running all the way to the building with flax and not just spin it yourself? And get your own experience. I understand this is inspired by law running, but there are alot more level 15 crafters than 55 runecrafters. Just my two cents. Me doing staff. darkblade986
Yeah, these types of companies really only work when the item in question requires a high skill level to make that many people don't have (Laws lv54). Since Bow Strings are lv10, not many people will sign up as runners because they can already make their own bowstrings. Perhaps you should start a Nature Rune Running company based off of the Law Rune Running company, that works exactly like it does: Bring 25 essence, receive 25 noted essence + 25 nats. (begins scheming wildly...) don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat

Mirror
About time you put this up rhino, I talked about this during my training for Lunar Diplomacy. I like it for crafting exp, very very fast exp. Plus those running(I preferbably believe they dont have to wear dark clothes, they should be able to wear whatever they want) get a ton of bs faster then spinning yourself for finding the rare person trading flax for bs's. munchkinmage
Problem is, you're gonna get way more crafters then runners. You gotta post it on other places, (official forums?) so you get enough runners. It's not like RCing where the level requirements cut down on the number of crafters.. :? You gotta post it on other places, (official forums?) so you get enough runners. It's not like RCing where the level requirements cut down on the number of crafters.. :? There are already tons of people who simply pick the flax and run right past the spinning wheel to bank. If this works out and becomes big then they could simply swing by and trade the flax for bowstrings.

ReneDestroy
If things don't work out, it will be because you don't have enough runners. In that case, you could do like the Law Company of W66 does, and have no profit for the crafters. So crafters would have a lot of noted flax in their inventory, and runners come with an initial 27 flax, trade the crafter, the crafter gives 27 bowstrings and 27 noted flax, and the runner goes back to the bank to repeat. That might even out the crafters and runners, because there'd be slightly less crafters, and a lot more runners that want free bowstrings.
