For those who can't be bothered reading the article, the theory is this:

 

 

 

This year, Aug. 22 corresponds, in the Islamic calendar, to the 27th day of the month of Rajab of the year 1427. This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to "the farthest mosque," usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (c.f., Koran XVII.1). This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary of the world.

 

 

 

Iran has describes USA and Israel as the great satan and the little satan respectively. And it seems Mr. Ahmadinejad (Iran's president, dictator, whatever) believes now is the time for the final conflict between good (in his opinion, Islam) and evil (in his opinion, infidels aka non-muslims).

 

 

 

In previous conflicts M.A.D has prevented the use of nuclear weapons, however for Iran it would seem that this is less of a deterrant. The mentality of suicide bombers suggests that the death of their own is no detterant.

 

 

 

So, what will happen on August 22nd?

Portugal and indeed most of Europe would be a safe place i imagine. As is American for now given Iran's relatively new capabilities if indeed they have weapons at all. Israel would be the target

The only country that can compete with the US currently in nuclear arms is russia. At the moment no other country has significant number of Atomic weapons to compete so the chance of M.A.D occuring is very small in my opinion at the momment.

Nothing. NATO would infiltrate that information using the NSA and plan a counter-attack. On August the 21st, JTF2, IDF, FSB, FAST, and SAS would destroy each and every camel in every Islamic country. Hence, no more sand-tech to use WMDs.

On Topic - Iran do not have the capability to create nuclear weapons or any sort of weapon that is capable of hitting the US or Europe. Even if they did they would hit one US city if they were lucky before they were obliterated - USA's nuclear stockpile is still extensive despite decades of nuclear disarmament.

Nothing, much likely. And not because NATO or secret services will prevent an attack, but because the terrorists won't try to attack.

I doubt anything will happen. Any country stupid enough to attack America deserves what it gets. The last country to out-right attack us got nuked into submission. Now I'm sure we'd be using economic sanctions and whatnot rather than a nuke, but whatever.

OMG, ronin has the same birthday as me? If terreroists do manage to attack America, then it'll probably be the east coast...why? D.C., New York, and Boston. D.C.'s the capital, obviously they would try there. New York's the largest city, and I think UN HQ. They just hate Boston don't they? At least 1 one of the 9/11 planes took off from Boston, and the plane that made the largest news in the latest attempt was headed to Boston. So if you don't live on the east coast of America or in the Middle East, I wouldn't worry too much.

On thing the US is actually worried about is a Nuclear weapon detonating on the coast of the Carolina's. They've had reports and "drills" (whatever that means) over it or something. It's why I haven't visited Hilton Head in a while. :ohnoes: :lol:
