I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.

Christ, mine would be so different to most of the music here.

The ultimate - and I mean ultimate live band, for me, would go something like this.

1. A member of Hybrid using one of their electronic drumkits, purely for the overall aceness of their breaks. This would be the percussion, I guess.

2. The Russian Federal Orchestra. Nuff said.

3. Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars fame on singing and screaming vocals. He's got a really versatile voice and such power in it :)

4. Squarepusher on Bass. I've never seen someone do things with a bass guitar like he has, holy crap.

5. Andreas Schmidt, responsible for projects like Ace Da Brain, Pervading Call, Dare Devils, Ace's Delight etc. He would be on atmospherics and synth leads, aswell as a lot of the composition as his work is absolutely beautiful.

6. Ludovico Einaudi on the piano. Good stuff.

7. Me. So the music will sound just how I want it too - not saying i'd be in the ultimate band, but me writing some of it in the first place is what would make it a tonne better for me to listen to. If that makes sense.

I guess that would be it. :)

  • 6 months later...

EDIT ohhhh... I just realised what I've done, I've bumped a thread more than 2 months old.... oh no.... I'm sorry :( I won't do it again.

[hide]Vocals = Dennis DeYoung

OK, I adore his voice & Styx in general. I know a lot of people don't, but I do and that's what matters for this.

Lead Guitar = David Gilmour

His guitar style is haunting and beautiful and I love it. Gotta be in there.

Rhythm Guitar = Rory Gallagher

I think he's an incredible blues guitarist, and I'd have him as lead any day but... well I wanted Gilmour & Gallagher in the band and I can't imagine Gilmour doing rhythm.

Bass = Phil Lynott

One of the greatest bassists out there in my opinion.

Keyboards/Hammond Organ = Jon Lord

One of my most favouritest keyboardists ever, gotta have him in there. That Deep Purple stuff is some of the best keyboard work around. If he's not available I'll go for Rick Wakeman, purely because I like saying his name.

Drums = John Bonham

This band needs an extra kick in the head. Who else but Bonzo?

Oh no, I've run out of members!!

PLEEEASE let me put another one in!

OK well I'm going to anyway.

Mandolin/Flute/Assorted multi-instrumental-ism = Ian Anderson

He's my favourite musician of all time, no dream-team band would be complete without him.

And of course, this mess of a clashing-styles band would be produced by Mr. Brian Eno!

Mainly for the same reasons as Rick Wakeman - his name is fun to say.

And I think he looks a bit like a duck.

Style of music = Stadium Blues-Folk-Prog Rock[/hide]

sleep like dead men

wake up like dead men

Did one of these before but mine's very different - this still counts by the way. Just cos it's not a typical band doesn't mean it couldn't exist (and kick huge amounts of rear.)

Percussion - The Panacea

Strings - Hybrid Sound System writing, Russian Federal Orchestra performing.

Bass - Cube::Hard

Filthy guitars - Killswitch Engage Rhythm and Lead Guitarists

I'd like to see a band with 2 drummers. That'd make me laugh irl.

Drums - Guy from Dream Theatre

Vocals - Dave Grhol (sp?) from Foo Fighters and a few other bands. He can be drummer #2 if he really wants to be.

Vocals #2 - The singer from Wolfmother.

Guitar - Someone from Metallica.

Other Guitar - Whichever White Stripe plays guitar.

They'd probably play awful together, some kind of soft rock.

slipknot has 2 drummers.
