Pinkbullet3 Posted August 27, 2006 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Come to think of it, every start has a beginning. Therefore, RuneScape must have an end (doesn't seem like it's anytime soon). But how will it end? Will Jagex start to decline financially and be unable to support RuneScape, eventually shutting it down? Or will a group of talent hackers (:-#) take over the RuneScape database (or whatever the main thing is called) and delete everything on it (if it's possible). Possiblities? Ideas? :-k :? ^ Blog. IMO, to stop/reduce scams there ought to be a 'Time Delay' at the second screen of trading, giving the person enough time to see if it is(nt) a scam, and if it is, stop the trade... They need to be harsher on Scams aswell - Just straight off ban F2pers, and in members give them MAXIMUM punishment (If not a ban)... This way people will realise ... How will it end? :-k Personally i think people will eventually get fed up with the game/ outgrow it, look at Pokemon, thats a dieing breed - With the older players quitting, they're not telling sibling, younger player's of the game - Thus, they cannot join, and then bring more potential members into the game. Except WoW is like what? $15 a month? And you pay $50 or so FOR THE GAME so in 3 1/2 months you just spent the same amount paying for online! So in a year you've spent $180 for it, and they don't update as often as RS. And for RS, with it's halfway decent graphics costs $5 a month and $60 a year, that's 3 times LESS than WoW, and we get weekly updates. :) I think that eventually they'll run out of update ideas and people will get uber bored? lol probably not. Iantiger Posted August 27, 2006 Share Posted August 27, 2006 Predicting how and when Runescape is going to end is extremely difficult because there's nothing which even remotely resembles Runescape, that we can look back on and learn from. The end could have come when RS2 was released, but Jagex had created another success and the game Runescape continued forward. If RS2 had instead been a flop, that would surely have spelled the end. Personally I think that the only way Runescape will eventually come to an end, is when the game goes through another huge 3D update, and it fails to be any good. As the years go on, Runescape will need to go through several more major updates to keep up with its modern day competitor games. If Runescape Classic was still in use today, and RS2 had never been made, I'm sure it would be either dead or close to it, as many people would have gone to play better games. If RS2 doesn't become RS3 in the next 5-10 years, the same thing will happen, the graphics will become dated, the game tiresome and people will move on. And eventually, when either Jagex don't recognise the need to upgrade the game, OR one of these major game upgrades doesn't work out, ultimately the game will fail... It's a hugely successful game, and they would have to do extremely well to make another game that evens comes close to the success of Runescape. I can't see them taking a gamble and ditching Runescape just to try and recreate another success.
