What a way to quit... how pathetic

Featured Replies

[edit] I'll be around some, maybe, the gallery is my true :3> so i can't just go off, and i still like to see what the updates are

[EDIT]

I got from 62-70 range in 2 days. And promptly flunked my last two college tests as a result. Wow I am smart eh? Still that wouldn't deter me, i got 73 range in the next few days. And then my older bro found out i was useing his computer to get online (since i am a lazy turd who doesn't work and can't buy my own) So he shut down the internet.

First few days i was mad. Then i was depressed. Then i relised holy cow, there really is life without runescape! DAM!!

In that moment runescape lost its draw on me. I finally relised that yeah, there is more to life then getting an ownage staker. That no I don't need a santa and all the rest of this crap to have fun in life. So I decided to stop playing...

Today i decided to get on and give my stuff away. About a 19mill bank was given to just one of my friends who i have know for about a year now and who i think is the greatist guy ever. Always up for a chat and ready to pull me through the tough times. Great guy, period.

Anyway i logg on and message him that i was quitting and that i wanted to give him some stuff. So he pops over from killing the kq. Anyway i emptied my bank except for 6mill rangers few other items and my 100k darts. My 100k darts were my pride and joy, i spend weeks smelting and smithing the ore. Then more time going and fletching each and every dart! boy it was hard. But i prevaled and got through it...

My darts at 50 gps each were worth 5mill just enough with my other items to buy him a rare! Woots! I could give my friend somthing that everyone loved to get! :P

So i posted on rs forums and found a buyer for all...

I met him in game and found he was a lvl 3.... Well i'm not predujace or anything so i traded him and didn't think anything of it. I was typeing back and forth in chat and didn't notice the amount he placed into the trade screen. I clicked accept and then relised that he had changed it to 50k instead of 5mill

He laughs and goes "ha what an idiot"

I automatically report him... But the damage was done...

What a way to end, buying a rare for my friend of over a year to make him happy. And it has to be that time to get scammed by a loser 10 year old with a pixel addiction. What a horridly stupid and pointless way to play the game.

It just reaffirms my decision to quit and instead of doing it saying, it was fun while it lasted but i'm through now time to move on. I now give the one finger salute and say thanks for wasteing my time runescape....

Hehe, actually im not that mad just dissappointed that my opinion of the runescape community was prooved right. I know tip.it'ers are a better bunch in general and i wish you good luck in your hunts for dragon items and pks of mass splendor...

Cya guys, its been really great to be on these forums and meet with some of yall in game but i REFUSE to take part of this game anymore. Its too much like a trash heap...

It's your own fault that the level 3 did that to you. You should always check the trade screen.

para, this is the only time i have ever been scammed in any amount over 100k...

I was just messageing all my friends so i wasn't really paying attention...

Yeah its my fault but still this happens all the time in world 2... had person after person try and scam my cannon away :x

You should never put a game before anything in real life. It is meant to add some enjoyment to free time. See you around. Good luck with college.

Its a shame that so many RS players feel the need to scam, but then some people just have no life.

thats just up. He scammed you the money you were going to give to a friend, as a leaving gift...

If i met him in real life, i would punch him in the face, then go on about how much hes life must suck, and how he has to ruin other people lives for free pixels. Then i would rub in his face how much of a low-life looser he was. Yah. That otta do it.

Agreed. I will give thanks to Allah the day that we are finally able to punch people in the face over the internet. That will indeed be a glorious day.

Sad to see you go, I'm actually slowly quitting myself... getting those last two Mage levels and doing some Castle Wars and killing some DK's, but other than that I'm pretty much done :? .

First trojann, and now you?! What's happening to tip.it...?

7 months ago, shoulen m0nk lured me for everything. If you know anything about him, pm me.

lol that was a good story but his eyesight must be poor... it's a well known fact that mods only drop garages on players.

Trojann... I'm not gonna say anything about him. I don't care that he quit. I'm actually glad.

But Tip.It is just.. dunno, not as cool as it's been this last year for some reason.. Eeeediot (didn't know him, but seen few posts), Duke Freedom (my GOD [in runescape hehe] broke rule), Trojann was .. yeah, Shiva.. May rest in piece. It's just not as great, I'd hate to say it.

life outside runescape? pfft yea right
  • Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.
  • Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.

Well congradulations on being able to quit, I keep trying and keep coming back. Too bad about the scammer, someone needs to invent a more efficient way of tracking them.

always sad to see someone quit, but also, it is good to see some more people understand that runescape, after all, is just a game. And that even DOES something about it

good luck irl, hope all goes good with you.

If you're theory about RS players (not tip.it'ers) is that all people are losers with no life, you were one for those few days. It's not only RS people, look at other games. Getting a 99 skill in RS is relatively easy compared to one of my older games. Nearly all people that play online games are nerds with no life that feel the rush after wasting other peoples lives when they are wasting their lives as well. Either they don't know they are wasting their life, or they think they are spending their time wisely by pissing others off. Either way, they're just people who are going to live with their moms till she dies and a few weeks after she dies. In the end just know that you have a life.

Take care of yourself hope to see you around every now and again, and get yourself a job just built my 2nd computer with my own cash feels good to earn, good luck in what ever you do maybe you'll be back in years to come it helps to have alot of self control with these games.

:boohoo:

ye i no i used to be mad about it i use to play 9-10 easy no problem then i got some friends (dont ask how) (not even i no hehe) so i went on rides with them lost 3 stone in something like 8 mounths just because i only playing runescape for 1-2 hours a day and the rest i was on ike and stuff ye ok... it casn destroy some people that get completely addicted like i did once and i no it is a waste of myy time but what the hell i still love i got mates i have a life i got everything (except my cleverness) which frankly doesent bother me that much since i love my life

**~~dumb~~**

1) Bye, you were a great user, and tip it won't be as good without you.

2) Why can't you learn to play in moderation. Play in your free time. Don't ignore studying, work, your social life, or anything else to play. If you have a free hour, play RuneScape.

3) I'm sick of people thinking scammers as being no-life 12 year old kids. Most 12 year old no life kids spend 6 hours a day training at PC, if they have something to do. People are usually completely different in RS then they are in real life. One example..my best friend. Think of the perfect kid. You all love em. You all hate em. Well my friend is the "perfect" kid. He is the future Valdictorian, he starts on the Varsity football team as a sophmore, always has the best looking gf, etc... One day he tells me he's playing a game called RS. What does he do? He does the "free gem cutting" scam. Not much at all to me...but he's a level three. Does he do it for the money, no. He does it for fun. I'm sick of these examples.

4) RS items are more than "PIXELS!!!!!!!!"

5) Bye again..have a great life.

Well, though I agree with your philosophy in your ending statement, I must disagree with the support you added within the post. Getting a 99 on Runescape is nothing like getting the best level/etc in most other games. See, I'd be much more proud of being a level 50 Sniper on Chromehounds, which shows people I've got insane skill at Sniping, than to have someone know that I spent 1000 hours clicking on [the same #$%^] digital tree. Maxing out in most other games takes skill, and represents superior abilities that in turn garner respect. What does level 99 Agility say? It says that you just might have a little too much free time on your hands, and not many better things to do...

What's up with people quitting?

Half of the topics on this board are about people quitting.

Why not have a drop party?

A farewell party?

Instead of just having a post that qill dissapear and nobody will have a reccollection of it.

Says the person whos "quitting"

If anyone remembers me... PM ME. having nostaligia issues D:

Good luck in real life,

im planning on quitting.... its a bit difficult to play this game in moderation when most things like a pk trip or gaining a lvl take around 3 hours. Therefore i end up spending too much time on here, like when i went pking at 9:30 i did'nt get off until 11:30 lol (was planning to get off at around 10:15, i just kept thinking 1 more fight then ill log off).

Also when you set yourself goals you end up playing way too much, especially if its a goal like 99 cooking or 85 slayer, 1 hour every few days would take forever.

My point is that runescape requires alot of spare time in order to level your charecter at the speed you want it to, if you only want to spend the odd hour every few days then you may get fed up of how slowly your progressing.

Also imo very few of rs players are the "no lifing" type you expect them to be, alot of people that play runescape too much are just average people (who do have lifes) who have gotten addicted to trying to reach their goals, like me :P

I truly am sorry at seeing you go. I liked your posts on the gallery.

Although, this is an excellent oppourtunity to pass the next few tests you get, eh?

Also, chris, I agree completely. I'll continue playing, but at a STRICT 10:00 logoff time.

All I know about you is you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re a respected tip it user and have 92/94 mage :P I myself have 90 mage and I intend on using it to pk with various styles, like with hybrid with melee or range. Will be useful when I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m pking at mage bank. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not sure if you like pking but you should also look into staking. You currently have 92 mage and is very good for mage staking (using blood barrage) You have the stats so I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m sure you could do quite well at staking. But when you have 94 mage it should be good that you have finished your goal. Enjoy the reward of 94 mage by having fun with ice barrage, using in whatever way you want. I am sure after the giddiness of your reaching the achievement you have been working so hard for you will feel down that you have nothing much else to do in rs. Well it is just about finding something else to do in it. Find some new goals to work towards, try some new things you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve never done before and check out the new updates when they come out. Don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t hang around rs addicted playing the same hours but not doing much though, find out what you want to do after you get 94 mage and do it. Play in your free time and don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t neglect whatever else you have to do in real life and your time on rs will be more enjoyable.

Yea I agree with that, but most cases aren̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t so cut and dry. Everybody playing plays for fun and evan high levels with 99 stats can have a good work and social life. If he/she manages their rs time well they can achieve their goals in the free time they have. Don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make generalisations about all players with 99 stats as everybody has their own story of how they achieved their stats and listen to individual cases first before judging a generalised mass group of players.

Well you look like you re-discovered a social life after playing rs too much and that can only be a good thing, you have carried on playing rs in your free time and that is a good thing if you enjoy the game. You look like your enjoying life, so you are an example to most players now on how to play the game. Good on you for breaking the spell of addictiveness gaming :D

2) Yea, completely agree, Rs should be played as a hobby and if you manage your time well you can have manage a good job, have a social life and play rs when you have free time to play it.

3) I agree again that people making sweeping generalisation generally are wrong, there is always going to be many people who are different from the generalisation made, so they aren̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t really a good thing to make.

4) Completely agree, they are a representation of the time you put into a skill, which you spend within the game, you lose that time spent if you lose your gp, so people are taking something you spent a long time working for.

Yes rs is very addicting and time consuming, it is up to you though to prevent it overrunning your life. Spend the time you want to spend on rs and manage your time in your life wisely. Try and not spend an extra hour here and there finishing off that level, just finish at a set time and close rs, your levelling will be slower, but your social life a lot better :D

On the main topic I am sad to see you go, you were a good rs player and got scammed trying to do a good thing for a friend when leaving rs. Unlucky but I'm sure your friend will understand. Good luck in real life and try and come on these forums regular still to show us addictees what real life is like :P Have fun living it :D
