Quest's, whats your stance?

The quests in runescape are a unique part of the game, a part that doesn't just involve clicking a couple of things together for hours on end. We all know tipit have some great guides and I recommend them, they're really great, alot of effort truly gone into them. But what do you do when you feel like a quest? Do you genuinelly feel like a quest, something that requires logic and quick thinking? Something that will take you around the runescape globe searching for some form of treasure or artifact, helping people as you go?

Or do you feel like reading a guide, clicking where you need to go and getting the message that you completed a quest, now you can go back to alching or fletching or whatever you do. I think the reward at the end feels much better if you genuinelly deserve it. However I don't want this to get locked and im not condeming people that use a guide, you can play the game however you want. It's just I used to see quests as something that helped pull the community together, players helping one another to solve a problem. This isn't a rant about people that use quests guides, it's just I wonder why you do it. Anyway what's your stance and why is it like that? Here is an example, you feel like a quest do you

a) Run straight to tipit boards and follow the guide step by step

B) have a go, but when you get stuck refer to the guide

c) don't use any guides, if you get stuck, you figure it out!

Don't lie either, lets have a genuine discussion on why you choose that option...

i used the guides fos about half the quests i did before i finished the last one back in the time (i was lvl 88, had just finished recipe for disaster)

now, as soon as a quest comes out, i do it as fast as possible, before i even get a chance to maybe want to check a guide for help! way nicer this way, and if im stuck, i just ask around for help.

now THAT's questing!

I always read the guide. I only do quests to get stuff from them, I don't do quests because they are fun. Infact, I hate quests. The only reason I did any quests were because some of the best things come from quests (Dragon Dagger, Barrows Gloves, Crystal Bow, Crystal Shield, Etc.). Other than the rewards, I haven't done a single quest for fun in this game.

Same for me, I always use guides just to get the rewards (or easy qp when i was going for Legends)

I used a guide for Cook's Assistant cos I had no idea where to get the stuf... So I googled it! One of the reasons I landed here at tip.it \'

I always use a quest guide, all the time, everytime. I dont like quests 90% of the time. The only quest I really enjoyed was the chef's assistant sequel (forgot the name). The jokes in that were pretty funny :D (gotta love the jagex humor).

I can do most of the new quests on my own, but I would need to know at least one answer to the quest before finishing it off myself. But that's only a last resort when I'm completely stumped.

Also when a new quest comes out, I hear a few tips and tricks from other people in the game that are also doing it.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

Same here. I only have a certain amount of time online, and I hate spending it doing quests.

I enjoy doing all the quests. I do the quest myself but the instant I get stuck I'll use a guide. Not because I give up or anything. Quests just take a long time, and I don't have that much time for runescape anymore, so I try to get them done as fast as possible.

*Currently working on finishing every last quest. Only Rag and Bone Man/ Hand in the Sand left...*

The majority of the time when a new quest is released I immidiatly drop my fletching, or fishing, or whatever and go start the quest. With new quests there are often hoards of people standing around. This really helps when you don't know where you're going. Just find the mass of white dots! I try to get new quests done before a guide is released so I'm not tempted to peek.

With these old quests that I'm finishing up I use guides with no regret. They are just busy work. On the other hand, quests with super awesome plots are done without guides, NO exceptions!

I hate quests. The only quests I do are ones that I need. So, I use a guide for the whole thing so I can get it over and done with fast and easily.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

I really don't find doing many of the quests fun.. or enjoyable. Most of the times, I find woodcutting or fishing more entertaining and less frustating.

I do them for the rewards mainly. There are a few I found to be funny though.

Hmm the general feeling im getting when reading the current replies is that not many users actually like the quests, only do them for rewards etc..Maybe the reason you don't like them is because you always use a guide? Or is it because your quest points aren't in the hiscores and usually you aren't gaining any exp through doing a quest, they're just for fun.

yea, i really prefer to use guides only when its a quest iwth a tough puzzle, otherwise i try to do as much as possible without a guide, but if i get really stuck i'll us one.

Quests can be fun (I do prefer hard ones like desert treasure though), but I appreciate a short but eventful quest with a good story line and some nice cutscenes. What I really detest though, are the longer quests wich are hard nor fun, but they require a ton of stuff to do. Oh and I always use a guide :P .

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

I normally stab at a quest when it comes out and dosen't have a quest guide yet, but after the guide is released I do the rest of the quest with guides. As for old ones, that's irrelevant, as I've done all quests and this is how I've been doing it since the first new quest came out after I completed all of them in RSC (with guides :P ).
