jackalope14
she deserves all if not more of what she got. do people honestly turn their brains off just because they don't like how there president is running the country? I've done some pretty stupid stuff but that tops the cake. So you're saying people deserve to be yelled at/thrown in jail for expressing their political views? She wasn't making a death threat against him, only expressing what she felt (or being that she was young, what her parents felt). Communism ftw? She got questioned for 15 Minutes. I dont see anything wrong with checking out something that could be a potential death threat. Its not like they questioned her for hours on end or she was acually severly punished or thrown in jail. God forbid anybody get yelled at

GordanFreeman
And this is the reason myspace should be closed down...a bunch of immature, ignorant kids post their "opinions" on the internet, on possibly the worst website in the world, and they get in trouble for it. I say she got what was coming to her for being so stupid as to go and post a picture of the president with a knife through his hand. Espescially since it's myspace...myspace...eww -.- "El que no arriesga no gana"

deloriagod
So because girls cry we should never discipline them? Girls deserve discipline as much as guys, but there's no reason to yell at them. From my experience, girls express their emotions more physically then guys. When girls are sad they cry, guys don't do that as often. When they're happy they show it through various ways, guys tend to show it in fewer ways. Internet Marketing For Newbies

knives669
Well, it is free speech, but I can understand why they would want to question the girl. However, her parents should have been with her for the questioning, and they shouldn't have been "mean" to her. I don't think she knew that it was a federal offense and was just trying to be "cool" by hating Bush.

Well she should already be arrested. Any death threat, yes any, can have you arrested, if the person press charges. You say to your friend, I'm going to shoot you, if your friend has hard evidence(logs and such) and presses charges, they'll throw you in jail. So because girls cry we should never discipline them? How could you make that girl cry by yelling at her. Sure she blew up half of USA, but how could you YELL AT HER!!! So now they get more special treatment since they're female. "Well why don't we just drag em out of hospitals, blood is too scary for them, cause they're emotional about it, etc." Comon. I support equal treatment. If it was a male who did something and you yelled at him, the same should apply for females. It seems like equal treatment isn't equal (course this is still present in today's world, racism, judging a person by wealth, etc). Statements in "" are suppose to be sarcastic if you don't get it... mad4u689
Actually, the thing that bothers me is the government trolling myspace for IMAGES such as this (not just text). What I would like to know is the following: how did they track down the girl - using only public information, which is slightly bothersome but understandable? Or did they request IP address info from myspace or something, which would be totally inappropriate, and an invasion of privacy? Everybody hug and spread the love :D
issy2
It was a stupid thing to do, but it's not as if she was actually gonna do it...it was her personal opinion, she shouldn't be punished for it. justin_m23
what are you talking about? it makes perfect sence. i mean of course a 14 year old girl is capable of killing a fully grown...uuuh man... but i dont think bush is the real problem. i think its really that thing that keeps following him around, you know the one that looks like a ferret. oh wait, thats my prime minister, John Howard. :XD: oh yeah, i went there :ohnoes:

Bubsa
I don't know what's more ridiculous. The fact that time was wasted on a myspace blog, or this comment: "I wasn't dangerous. I mean, look at what's (stenciled) on my backpack - it's a heart. I'm a very peace-loving person," said Wilson What the hell is that meant to mean? Freakin' idiot. What I would like to know is the following: how did they track down the girl - using only public information, which is slightly bothersome but understandable? Or did they request IP address info from myspace or something, which would be totally inappropriate, and an invasion of privacy? It's called the FBI Computer Crimes Division. Unlike what most "Elite Hackers" might say, these guys can do anything. And they don't troll Myspace, they rely on tips. And when it comes to "death threats", they take them very seriously. And the Computer Crimes Act allows them to search IP's without permision. After all, if some guy with kiddie pornography gets caught, do they ask him for permission to get his IP? Wow thats dumb, typical Americans, charging in without any logic or thought process, like that dumb girl was going to assassinate the president. Four American Presidents have been assassinated since the Secret Service was formed. All four of them by people who were described as being completely harmless by friends, family, and co-workers. Not to mention, the Law does not revolve around the guilty's personal schedule. Wow I'm glad I don't live in the USA. Got nothing really to say but Bush is kinda... odd People who post like this make me sick. Everyone in the world seems to act like a political scientist. I've said it once, and I will say it again: BUSH IS NOT THE REASON THIS HAS HAPPENED! THERE HAS BEEN A LAW AGAINST WHAT THE GIRL DID FOR 143 YEARS! It was a stupid thing to do, but it's not as if she was actually gonna do it...it was her personal opinion, she shouldn't be punished for it. I just hope she knows enough about the war/Bush to say what she thinks instead of going with the flow. She was not punished. The article even says that the Secret Service told her and her mother that they were not going to press charges. It was a quick 15 minute interview with her to establish her as the one who really posted it, and then a quick lecture on what is protected by the 1st Amendment (her anti-war sentiment) or what is not (threatening the President). Hold on don't your parents have to be there if you are under 16? For arrests? No. But the girl was not arrested. The Secret Service just had a talk with her. They were not pressing charges nor did they lock her in a cell and beat the hell out of her. And her mother more than likely gave them permission to talk to her. What the hell is that meant to mean? Freakin' idiot. It's called "the author is trying to make the Secret Service look bad because they questioned a little girl with a heart on her backpack." This is why I never trust the media and do research into EVERYTHING. Just a typical spin-doctoring. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. malo2
well im glad they ignored the case, but they were unneccisarily mean. Obviously this girl isnt going to run into the white house with a knife. A couple of agents talking to her a little bit, quietly, is enought to scare her to never do it again. What they did was completely unneccisary. Lastfm
