Marriage and Kids?

Featured Replies

If that was directed at me, I am far from underage. What's more it won't be at the touch of a button, I've been with my fiancee for a long time and we won't be having them until we're both over 25.

Besides, don't go spreading your ignorant extremist views on this topic as no one's interested in listening to someone who says people under 18 who get pregnant should have forced abortions. If you take issue at this, continue the argument in PM because otherwise it will draw this thread off topic.

On the subject of teen pregnancy and stuff.

a group of girls who i see every now and then, one of them is 15 and got pregnant with her long term boyfriend. they both thought they were ready for a kid and they were right, they're getting by fine with a little help babysitting every now and then and happy with their lives.

The 16 to have sex law is there to protect people, not to hold them back. 16's when most peoples body is mature enough to handle having a sex life (past puberty and that) and the government try to inform everyone under 16 about stds and precautions and that.

Not everyone who has sex/gets pregnant at a young age is an idiot like you seem to make them out to be.

Not everyone who has sex/gets pregnant at a young age is an idiot like you seem to make them out to be.

You're right. Not everyone who has sex/gets pregnant at a young age is classified as an idiot. But for the most part, teen pregnancies are an unexpected occurance.

Last year at my high school prom everyone was dressed up nicely and was having a good time. There was one girl however who had a baby bump sticking out and was completely embarrassed and the looks from all of the other people sho recieved only made it worse.

Her boyfriend at the time was no role model for a child either. He was often suspended from school for drug related activity and was completely stressed out to find that he's going to be a father.

If you feel you're ready to have a child then go for it. But we don't live in an ideal world. If you're taking part in "Adult" activities then make sure you can be an adult and take responsibiilty. Most teens aren't ready for the commitment but they think they're ready making the majority of them idiots.

Now on a more important issue...ME!

I hope to be married in the future, hopefully to my current girl friend. Life's too unpredictable to tell but I'd enjoy being a father. Not for another 10 years or so though :anxious:

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

There's very little I'd like more than to get married. I hope to get married not too late in life - mid twenties would be nice. I'd like that the wedding will be performed by a rabbi, even though I'm atheist... :x But it can be held somewhere exciting, like on the beach or something. I'd wear a white bikini or something equally ironic. :D

Anyway, then I'd like four kids: Two of them I would have naturally, and then I would adopt two more. This way, I'm not contributing to overpopulation, but I'm raising more kids in a nice Jewish family :D And I still pass on my (awesome) genes, of course.

On another note... I think it is fine to have premarital sex, as long as you take precautions. I do, but use multiple forms of birth control, since I don't believe in abortions and would like to have close to 0 risk. If everyone wanted to have 0 risk, they should do the same - be prepared! For more information on birth control, visit http://www.4woman.gov/faq/birthcont.htm

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

My girlfriend/fiance and I got engaged just over a week ago. We'll probably be married this upcoming summer. I want a summer wedding so it can be outside and I won't have to wear shoes.

Kids? I want girls. I've always wanted girls and I recently found out that my name, Brett, can be a boy and girls name...so guess what I'm naming all my daughters!?

I approve of your forming clone legions of terror ahead of schedule.

Wow, congrats! How long have you been together? By the way it's 'fiancee' with two e's for the female, fiance with one for the male. There's also an accent on one of them but I can never be bothered to add it.

Uhhhhhm..... Dave?

Yes, I want to be married, but not when I'm like 20. More when I'm ~27, because of all the ''freedom'' reasons everyone said. Kids? When I'm 27-30 probably.

At least, I think that.

I definitely want to get married and have children in the future.

I just have trouble keeping one girl.

Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

Nice, congratulations! ::'

It's on my 10 year plan (I'm 19) it doesn't really fit into my 5 year plan because I'm going into med school. I probably won't worry about it much until later, but it's definitely tucked back there that I'm no longer a child.

I plan on getting married one day. I haven't decided if I want 1 or 2 kids. If I only had one I'd want it to be a boy. If I had 2 I'd want 1 boy and 1 girl though I'd settle for whatever I got ::' But I'm kind of hoping marrige/kids won't happen for at least 6 years.. I'd like the have a steady job before I settle down and start a family.

Heck, it shouldn't even fit in your 10 year plan, then. :P

What, 4 years of biology/chemistry, then 4 years of even harder med school? No time for dating, you! :P

Part of me wants to get married, and almost feels a need to get married. But, another part of me says ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅI never want to get married̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Hopefully, I'll marry my current boyfriend. I really hope so. We've been dating for 2 years next month, and we're still going strong. :D

Yes, I too, have always considered marriage to be a 'must'. I'm not sure if I want to be a mother, but I do want to be a wife. ^_^

and remember, if that doesn't work out you can marry me :3> nah, j/k good luck with your current bf... i know when i get older i wanna get married and have kids... i love kids lol, my 2 year old cousin is soooo fun to be around lol... atleast i know i'll want babies, not sure if i'm gonna like having them from ages 6-18 though lol, but little kids are fine...

Sorry to turn the question back on you here, Shadow, but I seem to recall you saying as soon as you finished college or university, you want to get married, as the bachelor life, in your opinion was 'sad' or something.

I'm just curious as to why you think so. :)

Sorry Bubsa for missing this.

The bachelor life for me is 'sad' because it's lonely. Everytime someone tells me a story of how s/he wants to be a millionaire and so forth and that they don't have time to have a family, I get turned off. I don't think I can appreciate what I have in life unless I can share it with somebody I love.

In the end I'd like to get married, if I find someone worth marrying. And kids would be nice, don't really know when though. Not very healthy to plan all that. 40 is the limit though.

Don't forget the requirement that they spend most of their paycheck on dvd's :P

Come to think of it; I might just change my mind. I'd get married, (if and when) and just adopt. Think of all those poor kids out there who need parents, need love, need a stable life to help them grow up. I'd be more than willing to help them, as I'm not so keen to get pregnant myself. And to be honest I think it would be a great honour to adopt someone's else (who couldn't look after them, probably) child.

But then again if I did adopt I would definitely not have any children of my own. I think it'd cause jealousy and such... :(

However I would bring the children up telling them I wasn't their mother. I think it would be terrible to suddenly find out your 'parents' aren't who they say they are...but I'm probably wrong... :(

Bachelor life doesn't have to be lonely.

Live with friends, go out every night, get your end away with a different girl every time. there's a whole bunch of things you could do, just depends what's for you \'

(and no i'm not like that, been with my girlfriend nearly 8 months and staying together forever :D )

You and I differ a little bit Shadow. I want to get married...but for a different reason.

I want to get married purely for practical reasons. All good politicians have respectable American families to stand next to them when they give speeches. There's no way I could be the most influencial US Senator in the entire history of America without a family. And don't anyone even bother giving me facts to disprove my theory, I will whole-heartedly reject them.

And to answer your question, yes, my betrothed does know I'm using her specifically for political gain. She's perfectly fine with that.
