anonymouse_
No, it won't be a money sink.
Smapla
they may for a few days as everyone is just concentrating on the new skill, but as it won't take that much money away from normal money circulations, the prices should return to about normal. Made0f12une
I'll disagree. I dont really see HOW they can making hunting a monkey sink Unless they make the new "items" purchaseable (high prices) then no, I don't beleive prices will drop Hunting is a ways away too ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m

xevocm8velexx
The prices went down when construction went out because people wanted to sell their stuff to buy more planks of anything else for their houses. Lamest attempt at a lure ever. No, Ive seen "selling easter egg 5m must be level 78 77 or 76 and meet at varrock bar unarmed.
Fire_God
My sister just bought a bunch of dragon armor but sold it today because of the annoucnment of the skill. The prices have already droped  . If the prices go down its because people want to have money to spend on the skill and won't concentrate on getting the best deals. It dosn't have to be a money sink. Trying is just the first step in failure.

Peronix
Construction is a big enough of a money sink. Why would we need another one? It will be an item producting skill, most likely, like it is IRL. IRL construction costs alot, but hunting costs only what you pay for equipment, and in some countries the permits. In ancient times and in some parts of the world today, tribes hunted animals for their meat and hides. That will probally be the case here. Heck, mabye at a certain level you can gut dragons and eat their meat for like a 24 heal? Probally won't happen, but you get where I'm going with this, right? PhelimReagh
This thread is a waste of server space... Hardly. There's no way to know one way or the other. Smugness is not a subsitute for knowledge. But you have to acknowledge that draining cash from the Runescape economy has to be at least a secondary motivation of any new updates. Construction proved that. There was no reason for the materials for Construction to be so ridiculously expensive. The only reason was to drain cash, plain and simple. Too much gp in the Runescape economy is clearly a concern for Jagex. While there's no way to know one way or the other, I think it would be a safe assumption that there is going to be a significant gp requirement (resulting in that cash going out of game forever). Believe me, I'm sure the good folks at Jagex have had plenty of time to figure out how to make this skill a cash sink. Maybe not quite as bad as Construction, but still a cash sink. Dormado
well i believe that this "Hunting" skill will not be money drainer. In fact i think it will be a great way of earning money! There was mentioned that there will be new items, and if they wikll be tradable they will cost much! Even if not tradable this skill will be not a money drainer. Some hunting equipment will cost a bit, but it will not be something very scpecial and extraordinary... I can't wait fo that skill! The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals. Hobgoblin11
Actually, some of the information here isn't quite right. Dragon Armour prices are not dropping, they are rising. Two weeks ago you could buy a D Chain for 15.9mil, now the lowest price even being offered to buy them at is 16mil. I know, because I am watching them carefully as I work my way up to one :P 99/99 Fletching, 99/99 Cooking, 96/99 Strength
pompey_spud
well i actually think they will rise. I dont think ull have to buy ur equipment off npc's, i reckon ull have to make them urself. Hence steel bar and other ore prices will rise because people want the extra steel and whatnot to make the traps or spears or whatever we will be using. deangut
This wont be "AS" bad as construction, but I think you will need Alot of Time == Taking money out of RS Your supplies: Make nets, cages, bait and so forthe.. prob not going to be cheap Less buyers: more people skilling and less buy sellers. I think that rares will not go up this that much till after years end... @ - Come Join SoDB in Some GWD and other Slaying! - @
PhelimReagh
Time will tell. Don't ask me how they'll manage it, but I'm guessing Jagex is hoping to suck a few more billion gp out of the RS economy through Hunting. This would be an interesting poll question for tip.it. whiteboy1102
Dragon axe took on like a 400k drop... I'm hoping it drops another mil.. I still say it's worth the 1.5mil now then before the price should've stayed the same. Ah well I got off topic anyway yes as you can see some items are dropping. Although I really doubt this will effect rares... And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command.
